@ifjeannettewereamusi Agreed. After the incredible performance at Niagara Falls (Food Court, 11/13/10), I can't help wondering how many times this will generate attempted copycat performances. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
I have seen several now. I'm in the Springfield Symphony Chorus in MA and a group is planning one this Friday that I may participate in. We'll see how it goes. :)
For those posting the negative comments --- seriously relax. If you don't like the video, stop watching and just move on. These are some obviously talented people who took time outta their lives to bring a happy Christmas moment to people -- look at those smiles. Quit trying to judge whether or not it's a Flash Mob - and enjoy the moment ... cuz you are completely missing the point.
Great job to the people who did this, I loved sharing this with my friends!
Great job editing the video! We were there riding the escalator while you were singing -- what a cool experience, and you sounded great! Amazing assembling that many singers in such a short time. Congratulations :)

EPIC FAIL. Sheet music? A freakin' conductor? What, they never practiced the song before? The professional singers couldn't memorize the words to the song? Lame!
@SeattleSymphony How does one become a member of this choir (or one like it)? I used to be in choir when I was going to school and would love to be a part of one again and this just looks like so much fun!!
@chreai Our next round of auditions is the weekend of February 12. We have a few open spots and are looking for strong singers. Please see our web site for details on requirements and how to apply.
It was a bit too crowed on the main floor around the piano, but there were smaller groups on other levels and it was definitely a surprise on those floors. I was on the lower floor, so I got to enjoy a "traditional" flash mob experience.
Not sure this qualifies as a flashmob..when they are all assembled around a pianist, with song sheets AND a conductor. Lovely singing, though, and kudos for assembling the Seattle Symphony on a Saturday afternoon, but not quite what we've come to know as a flashmob :)

Looked more like a PERFORMANCE than a "flash mob"

FLASH mob ? This song is not current and doesn't contain a definable message !
This kind of performance is more focused on pleasing the performers then sharing with others for their joy !

This is one of those joyous moments, the essence of holiday spirit. Thank you singers and Mr. Schwartz!

@chreai Or, just chime in at the next Flashmob performance!
Better yet, get together with friends on facebook and stage your own!

I work at one in MD! I actually like the flashmobs better that pop up one at a time, but this is still fun!
