@SimoneEvans If you love this choreographer, please respect the copyright of their work. It's doubtful Jiri Kylian wants people to watch his work on youtube instead of seeing it in person. It hardly does it justice and people will have the tendency to steal his work, especially interesting partnering that he has created.
Kylian and these dancers live by tickets being purchased. Showing segments here will get an audience in the door... Showing pieces in their entirety will keep them out.
@AloriKesiAldercy: this is true but the Nederlands Dans Theater rarely visits Australia (where I have paid to see them) and I am rarely in Amsterdam (where I have also paid to see them), and since I'm now stuck in a Moroccan village they are unlikely to visit, the YouTube version does at least provide solace!
@SimoneEvans: Ooh... Ouch. I understand. I'm lucky that I live in America and that Hubbard Street Dance Chicago so often tours Kylian's work... I sympathize! I guess it's the choreographer in me that gets stressed out when people talk about posting whole works. People like you will appreciate it properly and still want to go see it live but others will watch it here and never see it again or abuse it by stealing. =(
@AloriKesiAldercy To my mind, those who watch it here and never see it again are likely not interested enough to have seen it otherwise. Many speculate about potential losses when talking about copyright infringement, but the measurable impact on non-mainstream content is higher visibility - People all around the world discovering artists they would not have known about otherwise. As a musician whose work has been pirated, I'm grateful for the interest. Art should be experienced!
