I have to admit, although speedruns like this are extremely impressive, I get the impression that in fact skill isn't the main contributing factor per se; not so much as practicing routes and knowing the map. This isn't to say you're anything but amazing at this game (especially having played with you before) but how would you say just simply practicing tends to factor in?
Actually, you are kind of right. Speedrunning involves a LOT of map knowledge but a not-so-experienced player will not be able to pull out speedruns on the hardest maps and/or with the ease, speed and quality a die-hard Doomer will. A huge amount of luck is welcome, as well.
@SzopenPan After some research, I noticed that the link for the ngmvmt1.wad on Doomedsda is outdated. It downloads the version without the bugfix. As seen on the textfile from the ngmvmt1.zip:
Release date: 10/23/2010
Try downloading from Doomworld for example. The textfile comes like this:
Release date: 10/23/2010 - bugfixed 12/17/2010
And it's no wonder since even though the version without the bugfix is a little bit harder, it looks a lot worse and a LOT of monsters fail to teleport.
i follow doomedsda.us every week.. I downloaded this demo (i waiting this level uv max demo) but demo does not work. i try 2.5.0.8 and 2.5.0.7 ver of prboom but player kill first seconds..
Now Serious Sam levels looks like tiny baby rooms with one kamikaze per ten of them
