  • just got one question

i heard about Gibson les paul 58 reissue that some are chambred is that ture

    Pls anwser

    sorry for my bad english

  • i just order a Gibson LP 58 reissue.

Can pick it up next week.

    cant w8.

Pls check out soon my Gibby LP 58 when i make a vid.

Btw i think the 58 sounds good while im a slash fan i want not a slash signature.

Because i play a 58 once and i tyhink its awesome.

    Greets from Holland

  • Does the slash have the highest output and the R9 the lowest?

  • @mojoefly They're all about same output. All bridge pickups are just above 8k

  • Two people are upset because they'll never afford one of these.

  • The Slash...

I'm wondering if it was set up better than the other two?

Maybe it suits the heavier sounds more..

The 59 had a certain Pageness about ( and that's a good thing)

    Good comparison thanks for posting

  • AT THE 7:42 THE SONG IS.. :DD

  • SLASH HANDS DOWN!

  • on "vintage" type guitars we want to hear some subtle tones a la Peter Green and not zep (hard rock riffs) that you might just as well play on an ESP ldt or an epiphone and not notice that much of a difference. Man, those are not higain guitars (apart from the slash one maybe..)

  • I love the tone on the Slash model, but that '59 is one of the prettiest I've EVER seen!

    EVER.

  • I like the Slash guitar because of its seymour duncan humbuckers witch gives the guitar more treble. The R8 was actually better for some Classic-Rock Numbers but a little but a little bit to brave in my opinion . And the R9 was something between them wich would be good if the guitar wont growl so much. I would buy the R8 just change the humbuckers for some seymour duncancans and its perfect.

  • I'm no expert but I love my LPs. I can't tell the difference between the 58 and 59 reissues, but to me the brighter sound of the slash that people are commenting on is down to a faster attack and I prefer a slow attack, so the reissues win for me. If you want bright, get a Strat. Great job doing the comparison. I'd love to hear a comparison between a genuine 58 and a 58 reissue. if that was possible.

  • the 58 sounded so good for highway to hell at 7:57!

  • slash guitar is the winner!

  • first song is whole lotta love? ;>

    and guitars that I envy.

  • @MJmarcelaMJ Yes, Zepp forever! ;)

  • Slash-r9-r8

  • 58 has the most character IMO. Slash would be cool for heavier rythyms but I like everything else better about the 58; its way smoother and has a much nicer texture on single notes. The 58 has a much more colorful midrange too = grind. That particular 59 sounds like crap compared to the other two.

BTW I am not biased because I have an R8 either ;)

  • I preferred the Slash signature one best.

It was incredibly bright, but also very warm. The 58 was very close in the tone, but in my opinion kinda lacked the edge.

The 59 was too muffled for my liking, but still alright.

  • It's really cool that you played the same exact thing across all three guitars. So many people demo gear in a way that is not a true A/B comparison. Great job!

  • I have one Slash Custom just like the one on this video. It seriously is bright and it was the best sounding guitar on this video and also is my number 1 guitar.

But both 58 and 59 are great sounding guitars too.

  • in my opinion, the R9 was the best sounding guitar.

  • this is awesome!!!!!

fantastic playing and great job with the review

  • yea the slash one sounds best

  • The Slash one sounds better because its customized. I like the look of the 58 the best, but BURSTBUCKERS SUCK SHIT. I also like the 59, but the flames just look so...fake.

  • Thanks for this great review! I want buy one between R8 and R9.. In your opinion which is better? I don't want pay only for the flamed top... (understand me?)

  • is this guy rich?

  • Rock N' Roll

  • that 59 was big and the 58 was cleaner and the slash well, u knoe each one off he line back 2 back is different! find one that is pleasing to youre ear! what else can i say!

  • 59

  • 1959 is more bassy than the rest, kinda lacks the nasty and mean sound

  • The 58 is much brighter and a bit more trebly than the rest, the slash les paul is grittier, i'm quite dissappointed with the 59 though

  • The 58 is the one that stands out when playing all the classic rock especially led zep stuff. Funny how Jimmy Page and his tech had always stated his guitar was a 58. But because of him getting a neck shave the serial was removed. Gibson checked it when making the Page custom and funny old thing it was the more expensive 59.

But all of them are beautiful guitars that all of us would love to own.

  • wow the R9 just sings :D

  • 59 reissue and slash 1. were the best

  • I can say its brightest, brighter, bright

  • Do not judge all the 59 R9s from one demo. I have a 2010 59 R9 Lp that looks just like the one in the vid. Running through a Marshall clean, my R9 is as bright as my 82 Explorer E2, 82 Moderne,91 Epi Moderne and 2010 Fender Wolfgang. With a simple MXR 10 band eq I can make the Deep sounding Moderne sound as bright as a Strat.

Actually when I move my R9 to the rhythm pickup I wish I was getting more bass than I do.

  • i dont like any of them O.o

  • cvili ko da macka vuces za rep

  • the 59 and the 58 are vos?

  • The 59 was a let down like it was being played by Mr Rabbit deep in his underground burrow. Slash special has clearer definition and is a hotter machine.

    I like the 58

  • @djangolad the reason the slash one sounded more clear was because of the uncovered pickups

  • i liked the slash the best

  • I like the R9 least, but battle to hear much difference between the Slash and R8 besides the R8 having minisculely smoother treble, just goes to show, a pretty falme top doesn't always make a good guitar.

  • That was cool!! The slash and R8 sound the brightest. But i think I like the R9 best" not sure why seems to have more of it's own sound!! Think would play around with different caps! R8 and Slash sound aw-sum just seems to me R9 has it's own character! different caps from RS" and I think thats a winner!! JMHO!!!!!

  • I like the 1959 Reissue best.

  • The only thing i missed was an R0 in the comparison! :)

  • The CS Slash model and the 58 sounded the best through my computer speakers.

The 59 lacked some high end, and sounded too "mushy". Too much midrange and bass. Maybe a 50's wiring kit from RS will improve the sound.

    Ace playing btw!

  • I'm surprised to say that the Slash model was the best sounding based on the type of music played in the clip. The 58' was also very nice. The 59' was underwhelming. It didn't have the same bite as the Slash model.
