What a beautiful gesture. Fitting in a way, considering that given names often have a biblical origin. Noam's a biblical character in a way, just not from antiquity. And considering how many people across the world are named 'Alexander', it makes a lot of sense to instead name our children after truly admirable historical figures, like Noam.
But then again, Noam hasn't yet passed into the history books, and his name still has edge - 'a name that's dangerous to drop' as one veteran Boston journalist commented in a recent interview:
