  • It's not just country. It's all music. None of it is as good today as it used to be. We should buy the old music only. Leave the new stuff to collect dust.

  • Just ask Patty

  • this song is sooooo TRUE!!!!!!

  • Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, etc. You name it. All posers Jamey Johnson is the only one left. All these wannabees, I don't know what the hell they're trying to prove. This is a very important song though. Too bad nobody listened.

  • Ain't no such thing as a Socialist cowboy.

  • ALL HALE ALL THE KINGS like johnny cash hank williams and georeg jones etc.

  • Thank you finally some one on youtube that likes country music, i dont know how people listen to all that crap like screamo and death metal you cant even tell what they are saying

if all the screamo and death metal people would listen to this song they woukd feel really bad probably

  • @mrwillyd1999 I listen to Death Metal and Screamo. I dont feel bad at all, but I also listen to Country, Rock , Rap, and Pop. I don't think their complaint in this song is with other Genres of music. It is directed more towards modern country and how they have went away from their roots.

Besides I get so tired of all the close minded people out there who are like.. "Only (Insert the Genre of music you like here) music is REAL MUSIC" The rest is garbage. Different Strokes for Different Folks.

  • @shanesmith422 what i meant by "fell really bad" is fell sorry for classic country music going away

  • @mrwillyd1999 I think they should just distinct the difference between Modern Country and Classic/Country Western. They should have radio stations dedicated to said Genres and leave it at that.

  • You can take your Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts. I will take King George and Alan Jackson.

  • Tell 'em, George.

  • long live the king!!

  • YES!!! THE TRUTH IN THIS SONG IS UNREAL!

  • Great singers .Wish there were more like George S, Alan J, Randy T & Josh T. Way to much ROCK -N- CRAP getting control of this GOOD OLE COUNTRY MUSIC >

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE THIS AND SO GLAD TO HEAR GEORGE AND ALLEN SING IT . IT REALLY IS THE TRUTH !!!!

  • That someone is taylor Swift

  • Well The "Murder Down On Music Row".. remains un-punished.. And look to now owns the FCC, for a glimpse of the culpert !

..This Old Cow Boy... misses the "WESTERN" in Country & Western.. and certainly cant deal with the bombardment of "Hillbilly Rock" that is what "THEY" call C&W music ! (Those Old Talent's..could at least Play the Instruments..and had more in the band than Chorded-Git-Fiddles and Drums)

  • Was at the Hall of Fame this past weekend and you can notice greatness slips the further you get into the exhibit. They have a George Strait outfit in there with a belt buckle that has a Bud Light logo egraved in it. He's just as commercial as those he's bitching about here with Alan Jackson.

Seriously, as hard as it is to admit, people like George Strait, Shania Twain and Garth Brooks are the beginning of our troubles today in country music. Not Loretta, Possom and Merle. They are REAL.

  • Hank Williams, Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, Minnie Pearl, Bob Wills, Jimmie Rodgers, Ray Price, Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry, Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, Lefty Frizzell, Ernie Ford, Merle Haggard, The Carter Family, Flatt & Scruggs, Loretta Lynn, Hank Snow, Bobby Bare, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Charley Pride, Conway Twitty, Tammy Wynette, Bill Monroe, Glen Campbell, Porter Wagoner, Dolly Parton...REAL country never to be replicated.

  • Great song, but sadly true. As some other ppl have said, today's country is pop-country... Only few people remember Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, other Real country artists. Alan Jackson is my favorite. Now, when people ask what kind of music I like, I say real country. Because if I said country, everybody thinks Taylor swift, Kenny chesney, blah blah blah...

  • @pieski321 I remember Lefty Frizzell, Buck Owens, Ernest Tubb, etc And I love both Country and rock n roll BUT when I want Country I want Country not Rock n roll and the other way around. But who do we hang...and where is the rope.

  • Why is Alan Jackson singing this song? Now he sounds just like Brad Paisley Toby Keith and all other country wannabes..

  • I love this Video hope it never is removed.

  • @0mguusehaxub1tch hahaha when i read that it was the funniest thought ive had in months throw in keith urban. being on this site let me see im not alone in disliking swift very stongly. i hate all her songs-- only reason she got in is becuz she sang a song with tim mcgraws name in it. anyone know when george and alan are gonna sing together again?

  • ,.,.one of my favorite

  • another one of many george strait's songs that should have been number 1

  • This is too POP for my Taste. Give me HAG and Mr JONES the last generation of Honky Tonk singers.

  • Eight murders who voted against this video

  • Yep, there's been an AWFUL MURDER.

Brad Paisley is not country. Haven't you heard all those rock guitar solos in his songs? He and Keith Urban should be in rock bands.

  • Ok, today's country isnt real country! today's artists have really good talent, but it's not country. If you called it country rock or pop, I would be ok with it, but it's not REAL country! You don't see george with gay looking earings in his ears like Jason Aldean. All I'm saying is bring back the fiddle, you can have the "rock n roll guitar".

  • @TheJfrosty93

hey frosty, your words 'bout country are music to my ears ;-) just this time I heard this 'murdersong' from Larry Cordle - with fiddle and banjo, that's great

  • @TheJfrosty93 im 24 into rap but i went and bought a fiddle to learn irish country music, fuck unneeded change, bring back shit that needs bringing back.

  • @TheJfrosty93 . There ain't nothin' wrong with a fiddle but give me the sorrow of a lap steal.

  • The fact is that real country music is dead. It wasn't Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban in the 90's that did it as circlefiveranch commented. They weren't charted until 2000 and beyond except maybe one in 99 for Urban. I wish Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, and Roy Acuff style music still lived in mainstream "country" music. They are the fathers of REAL COUNTRY MUSIC. I feel what they sing. The majority of this music today is crap with the exceptions of Strait, Jackson, and even Paisley. GOD BLESS

  • @sparks51774 you had me until you mentioned Paisley. Tell you what come to Texas, where we've been doing our own thing for years now, practically ignoring Nashville, and two-stepping to our own brand of Honky Tonk!

  • 2 true country stars Brad Paisley couldn't play in my shadow besides he's gay

  • @bb38313 haha Im pretty sure your gay i just looked at your channel and you are obsessed with little beanie bags things!!!! What the fuck do you know about country music, as far as i am concerned paisley is country and the best country guitar player to live. I work on a farm i listen to hank, cash, paisley, george, alan, and billy currington. If you listen to an artists while working on a farm they are country

  • @Teleplayer617 paisley........lame! That shit sounds awful, he started out good with mud on the tires, and whisky lullabuy, but it went down downhill from there. Murder I say!

  • @Teleplayer617 Hey that is my dad you are talking listen I am his daughter!!

  • 2 true country stars

  • amen!! TO ALL OF YOU HAVE SOLD OUT TO ROCK & HOLLYWOOD - SHAME ON YOU!!!

  • I agree with most of you. But Brad Paisley is country and he's not some guy with no talent up on stage. If you didn't know he is one of the best guitarists in the earth in any genre. He didn't get handed his job he had to work for it.

  • @Teleplayer617 oh my he sucks. put the crack pipe down and walk a way

  • This is the most important country&western song ever written!

  • all these new people killed country music like jason aldean taylor swift there is very few good ones anymore

  • @ circlefiveranch - Right on. You have spoken the truth my friend. Like King George said, I need a little Twang.

  • @ circlefiveranch - Right on. You have spoken the truth my friend. Like King George said, I need a little Twang.

  • I agree there isnt any country music left I dont even turn on a radio anymore ,

  • 7 people like lil wayne..

  • Well, I do agree with some things that the songs says, especially with Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift. But you people can't just say that there is NO country anymore today. To start with Brad Paisley is Country, even if he is not according to some of you. And what about the new traditionalists like Chris Young, Easton Corbin, Ashton Shepherd and Craig Campbell? Stop complainin' people because these guys are young and will sing for a long time.

  • can i do a flying drop kick in to Straights nutts, cause it wasnt long after this song he was Found Guilty.

  • this song makes me grateful for Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, and all those other guys that actually make real country music

  • A lot of our old favorites took a lot of criticism back in the day too. Country music has to evolve. The "good days will always be with us, but there is a place for the newbies also. Too much bitterness! I say give them all a chance. Some of them are quite good.

  • RIP Music Row... these boys had the balls to sing it and few today can bring it. Yeah, we all wondered who would fill them shoes. I guess it's smoke rings in the dark singing whisky lullabyes but some of us took the grand tour. Yep, he stopped lovin her today. I guess that's the way love goes these days. It was a good year for the roses I guess. Now I feel a thousand miles from no where.

  • He is one of the greatest !!! I love him.

    o

  • Great and accurate song! The "Trashville" execs have sold out true Country & Western to chase the $. This modern crap...Swift, Paisley, Urban, Underwood is all fake, manufactured pop country crap!

  • LIttle miss Sleezestack Taylor got entertainer of the Country Music of the year. Doesn't that take the cake. She can't call a hog to water

  • @texas23rd She is beyond terrible. No one i know seems to think that though...

  • That''s what happened on the ACM's last night

  • seems to me this song caused a big stink back then. made a lot of people mad.... too bad, b/c this song is so true and really opened my eyes back then to what was happening under my nose, and i didn't even notice until it was too late.

  • GOD, MOMA"S, USA, APPIE PIE, AND CLASSIC COUNTRY!! FOREVER

  • Eat your heart out Toby Keith, this is the real COUNTRY!

  • @Af4408 lol toby keith its country? i think you are thining of keith urban...

  • Why was this song not a number one hit???? Perhaps the most classic message in country music history....great lyrics......Strait is the man.....AJ was sliding in his career...and these collaboration songs almost never hit....perhaps that is the reason...

  • We had the honor of seeing this in KC MO during the George Strait country music festival, my oldest daughter was COMPLETELY in love with George Strait! This was the summer after the summer the song came out! It was AWESOME the two most TALENTED & HANDSOME men in country music

  • there alot of not nashville endorsed country singers out there fightin the good fight !!! Hank III , Joey Allcorn, Lucky Tubb, Rachel Brooke, Hellbound Glory , Whitey Morgan , and the list goes on and on many people have never heard of

  • May I refer y'all to Aaron Watson, Randy Rogers Band, and Kevin Fowler... I could go on, but alas, youtube only allows a certain number of characters. LOOK EM UP!

  • This needs to be re released and it needs to play LOUD! Every day. These words mean more now than they did then

  • i think if more people listened to hank.... he would have a chance.

  • I see 7 Rascal Flats and Taylor Swift fans missed the "LIKE" button.

  • @simwrangler haha fuck them lol they all suck anyway we dont want them likeing are music

  • @brandon8446 Yeah, singers like Rascal Flats and Taylor Swift are only POP-Country. Which is NOT real Country music.

  • Wonderful song by two wonderful singers. The type of country music that I enjoy to the fullest.

  • This is one of the most truthful songs ever written, happy to see that others agree with me as well.

  • 7 "alt-rock with cowboy hat" fans have accidentally clicked on this song.

  • This song applies now today (1/11/11) more then ever...........do you listen to the crap they call country today? This is country.

  • @pmilmidi oh yeah, i know that's right

  • I miss the steel guitars, and banjos. Country music died long before 2000. It died the day, they quit playing the steel guitar, and was replaced by the likes of Garth, Rascal Flats, and musicians like them.

  • I remember the first time I saw these two perform this song....if it ain't the TRUTH!!

  • We need more real music!

  • Not Rascal Faggs.XXXX Not Country

  • all these comments and no mention of Larry Cordle!?! thank god he wrote and released a bluegrass album with the same title that got bluegrass album of the year in 2000!!

  • for the most part todays country sucks carrie underwood is not country she is pop and rascal flatts are the backstreet boys basically ... when i want good country i got sirius between outlaw country and roadhouse

  • @raykup Yeah<Thank God For Sirius. Willie's Place plays some good music too.

  • @raykup Yeah.Thank God For Sirius. Willie's Place plays some good music too.

  • thank god for alan and george and the stars that came in the early 2000's.that is country music.

  • honestly i like the contemporary country because the tunes are catchy and i can relate to the lyrics, as well as the old country. its just a new form of country thats all. new artists just like to sing differently and it apparently has made a good impression on the public's ear, maybe not everyone but enough to be noticed. they just want to sing their songs, i dont see the harm in it. everyone has their own taste and opinions i suppose.

  • @atmp94 I have no problem with other pop musicians, they just should be on pop radio stations, not on country radio taking up george, jamey, gary allen, rodney carrington, and billy currington's air time. They should have todays COUNTRY artists, and a little of yesterdays COUNTRY artists on COUNTRY radio.

  • Now would be a perfect time and the perfect song to point out that Justine Beiber or whatever her name is, will be teaming up with Rascal Flatts....As a fan of true country music, I can say that the country music pioneers must be spinning at 5000RPM in their graves right now...

  • Well they even tell the possum...... I say murder --IS-- committed down on music row!

    Thumbs up folks!

  • @Jonathan1969Stingray "The Possum" alias "No-show Jones"must have more nicknames!

  • they killed her bud

  • gives me chills..RIP!

  • Real country song. Two great singers and two hunks. What a combinatioin. Too bad we don't see or hear songs like that anymore.

  • awesome stuff and sooo true.

  • Real country music ain't completely dead, it just in exile in Texas. There is a thriving traditional country music scene out there. Check out Amber Digby (my favorite), Heather Myles, Justin Trevino, Leona Williams, Miss Leslie and more. Youtube is a great place to start finding good country music. Nashville certainly won't give it to us. We have to find it and support it. Buy the real music and see the real performers live.

  • That's right...these "Black Hat" young punks couldn't sing their way out of Merle's ass!!

  • Must be 6 Big n' Rich fans that watched this video!

  • and most of the traditional country songs went out the window in the mid 80's/90's with Tim, Faith, Shaina, and Kenny. So uh it was long gone before Carrie even came around.

  • People saying Carrie Underwood assisted with the murder of country music you are highly mistaken. Reading half these comments most of you are a bunch of sexist males. Now I will say, I would defiantly prefer Carrie sing more traditional stuff like I Told You So(she was phenomenal with it.) She has such a great voice and a lot of it is going to waste with her more up-beat songs. Taylor Swift on the other hand... blame her all you want. She's terrible.

  • @0831des The murder of country music happened long before Carrie Underwood came along.

  • @phatalbert73 Exactly so people should stop bashing Carrie. I am personally a giant fan of hers, I believe she is a phenomenal singer and brings a more up-beat happier side to country music, for men and women.

  • @0831des well, Carrie can sing more traditional stuff, but she chooses not her. shes pop country. We got miranda lambert and sunny sweeny at least

  • THAT IS RIGHT AND YOU CAN'T GET ANY BETTER

  • pure country...

  • GEORGE STRAIT AND ALAM JACKSOM THE KING COUMTRY MUISIC

  • rascal flatts and keith urban teamed up for that murder with tim mcgraw back in the 90's and it's all been downhill since then. Thank god for guys like Jamey Johnson to try to revive country music. What people call country music nowdays is POP music folks sorry.

  • @circlefiveranch

    Yeah...just ask Taylor LOL

  • @circlefiveranch

Very True. Some guys 'get it' but they aren't radio guys so to speak. You just have to hope that the southern rock country gets back to dominance as it leads to true country piping back into the mainstream.

  • @tonyei31 I completley agree. There is so many good artists out there that don't get played on the radio because their music is country and not pop. I completley give up on FM radio around here. It's all garbage.

  • @circlefiveranch HAIL TO THE CHEIF, i couldnt have said it better brother!, or sister lol

  • @circlefiveranch Isn't it oh so funny that both these guys fly to all their "country gigs" oh and btw George Strait

is the one who helped get Tim McGraw going he toured with Strait as did Faith and AJ just thought you'd so

wanna know, but I do agree with alot of this now!

  • @circlefiveranch i agree with you ofr the most part, but its not just jamey johnson, theres brad paisley, toby keith, mirando lamber, blake shelton, always alan jackson, and king goerge of course, and ik theres more i cant remember we just have to tune out the others until we get our country back lol thats why God made CD players lol

  • @sstroh08 Brad paisley is not country, but i agree that there are a few good ones comming in

  • @HereIsRick after some of the songs on the acm idk bout some of those singers, but paisleys performance with alabama was rly good and i dont see how u coult not think hes country, songs like whiskey lullaby and wrap it around and get a little mud on the tires and im gonna miss her hes one of the few all country i think anyways

  • @sstroh08 I suppose you are right, i just have not liked many of his songs. his early stuff like half the dad he didnt have to be and we danced were great songs but all of his newer stuff sounds the same too me. Although that song with alabama is amazing

  • @HereIsRick yea thats true all him playing the guitar, hes not my favorite or anything i just consider him country, he cant be ol king george though! lol

  • AMEN BROTHER

  • @circlefiveranch : mostly true

  • @circlefiveranch Nope. Yes... Everybody is just heading for the mainstream. But, the mainstream isn't even pop any more. It's Techno/ Electro-pop. Pop music isn't even what it used to be. Just an over-manufactured, mutated shell of it's former self. Hip Hop is dead too. All just heading for the mainstream money/ music murder.

  • @circlefiveranch garth brooks helped out too.

  • great song two amazing legend singers of all time

  • I still buy them drinkin and cheatin songs!!!!

Bob Wills is still the King!!!

    p.s Happy birthday Alan.

  • Let's not forget Loretta Lynn here... all country!

  • You can't relate to most modern country...it's just too pop and the singers lack the emotion of the guys who came before them. No ones filled the shoes of Cash, Waylon, Jones, Pride, Willie, Conway and so many others that have passed on. I'll stick with them old drinkin' and cheatin' songs myself.

  • I LOVE COMTRY MISIC THE BEST ON THE BEST ALAM JACKSOM THE VERY GOOD GEORGE STRAIT

  • I LOVE COMTRY MISIC THE BEST ON THE BEST ALAM JACKSOM THE VERY GOOD GEORGE STRAIT

  • I love and agree with the lyrics of this song....It is so true...George said he got in a little trouble for it, Thank you for speaking for all the the true country music fans.....

  • This is so true.....

  • Oh and Brad Paisley is a great one too.

  • Okay Country music is great, and some of the new guys are good, TIm Mcgraw, Blake Shelton, and a few others, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks are all the best of the new country music, and its all good but when you call Rascal Flatts and Jimmy Wayne, and Taylor Swift country... that makes me laugh.

  • hank 3 is not and has never claimed to be country he is rock. all the real country singers will be gone soon george, willie,DAC and charlie daniels are the only legeonds still alive

  • hank 3 is not and has never claimed to be country he is rock. all the real country singers will be gone soon george, willie, and charlie daniels are the only legeonds still alive

  • now thats real music comming from real musicians, awesome !

  • Traditional country music is what got us to this point. This song is evere so true..Lets not forget who brought us to the dance..

  • The Taylor Swifts and Rascal Flatts that have infected country music have got to go!

    That is all.

  • This iis what country music should sound like...great stuff!!!

  • hey packington leave Olivia out of this, she never claimed to be country music. she had a style all her own. But as far as this song, never a truer song was ever sung, and they could not have picked two better singers to do it, thnk you George and Alan, keep you the good work.

  • George and Alan sound great together this is pretty

  • Everyone should check out Robert Earl Keeen for some real good country music. "The front porch song" is a classic.

  • @mindeloman i second that! all those Texas Country artist are keep COUNTRY MUSIC alive

  • These days, you dont have to be country to be called country. ALL YOU NEED IS TO TELL PEOPLE YOUR COUNTRY. And it makes me SICK.

  • He's right...Hank wouldn't have a chance today...there is almost no real country music out today

  • countrys still alive, as long as we still have the two great georges, strait and jones

  • @bigm1682 really cause you seem to be forgetting someone but maybe I'm wrong when I say tha'ts Alan Jackson on stage with George Strait and jones has played with Jackson too

  • if u want real country jus buy sum old 33s am 45s an play them on a record player it doesnt much better than that btw im only 22 but ive wear out most of moms an dads records

  • you know, people are saying that garth brooks is the one who first killed country, i don't think so. i mean, ya, his country may sound a tad different than that of strait or haggard but still, i think he's more of a country artist than what i'm hearing by gaylor swift or rascal fags, etc.

  • @ryanmacdaddy1000 I agree. Listen to some of Garth's first songs and they are much more real than some of the most modern country songs.

  • I love it when some asshole says they like country but not the real "twangy"stuff. If you don't like twang you don't like country.

  • Comment removed

  • its very nice song,i like it so much

  • F in out Allen n Strait hammer down 4/10 10/4!!!

  • im not much for george curvey but alan jackson is my man ive listened to him seens i was born my first song i remeber listening to was alan jackson and i still listen to him and he never gets old

  • @footballgusto72 george STRAIT is so much better than Alan Jackson. Alan is good but George is King

  • @jsa4ever92 Oh come on man!! Alan is the real deal ....he wrote most of his songs so they are pure and from his heart. Strait hasnt wrote any of his hits. Strait is one of the best ever so I am not putting him down but Alan is the Real Country Singer.

  • @cowboyfan1113 actually, George did write "Living for the Night", which some have guessed might be about the passing of his late daughter. How can you tell me that isn't from his heart? And George's voice, is simply better than Alan's. Like I said, Alan is good, one of the all the greats, but George is the King.

  • @jsa4ever92 so one song counts him as a great songwriter????

  • @jsa4ever92 u do realize george strait never wrote one single song

  • @footballgusto72 he wrote "Living for the Night" as well as three other songs on his Twang album. And his voice is simply amazing. Better than Alan's. They're both great but George is simply the King of Country.

  • @jsa4ever92 there are two other guys that help write it so it wasnt just him, and thats one album and only three of them how many albums has he come out with alan writes his stuff

  • @jsa4ever92 where were you when the world stopped turning, you cant CANT tell me thats anything less then great

  • @andrewPHY Yes, but you can't tell me the pain in George's voice when he sings Amarillio by Morning is anything less than amazing. I know he didn't write it, but listen to all the other versions out there. Then listen to Mr. Strait's. It's mindblowing

  • @andrewPHY small town southern man its about his dad

  • holy crap i never realized how tall alan jackson is and how short george strait is lol i love this song iv listened to country ever since i was little and i like taylor swift and thoes other new artists but they arent country :)

  • They may have killed country, but George Strait and Alan Jackson somehow managed to get out alive !

  • @edwsshaw1 Good analogy. It's not dead.. playing possum

  • i'm george strait # 1 fan i know every word to every song he sings

  • hey doocher country never died just evolved you probably like evolution u queer

  • que coisa mais linda! tem talento esses caras!

  • Hell yeah...wish they had more true country singers like George and Aaln today, they are a dying breed.

  • Thank you george and alan.. for keepin country music alive....

taylor swift...rascall flats... u can go to hell!!

  • Carrie & Taylor killed real country music George & Alan Rules

  • @wwezjr13 At least Carrie can sing.

  • @Blucius13 yea right all she sings is pop shit

  • @wwezjr13 But she is still musically a great singer. She has a great voice. She choses to sing pop, but could sing other genres. Taylor can't sing very well and she choses to sing pop... it's the only thing she could sing.
