Francesca (Meryl) is an Italian housewife living in Iowa in the 1960s. Whilst her husband and children are away at the Illinois State Fair one week, she meets Robert (Clint), a National Geographic photographer shooting photos of the bridges of Madison County on week-long trip. They fall in love & have 4 amazing days together. Francesca must then decide whether to stay in Iowa or go with Robert.
