If a bjj brown belt got thrown from a Judoka of 9 months that is pretty lame. After about 9 months I would assume the have a yellow belt in Judo, knowing about 6 throws and basic grappling. A bjj brown belt not being able to take a throw is full of shit buddy. Where are they getting their rankings in bjj out of curiosity. I did Judo, ironically for about 9 months and it was very useful so don't get to upset. Or maybe your judo teacher is amazing, who is that btw?

@chazmeister1 Jiujitsu is taking over because many Judo dojos put to much emphasis on the sport aspect, ippons and all that jazz. Instead of showing people more practical throws and ground defense. So people just leave, because they get sick of being tapped out by BJJ white belts with 2 stripes. Some people get lucky and learn the best aspects of judo and throw it into their fighting and actually do very well. I still favor BJJ more but Judo was helpful. I think it a solid foundation for BJJ.

I have had many many debates with MMA mavins about the FACT that a well trained judo fighter will defeat anyone who can't knock them out the 1st time they come in.RR demonstrates this. My 2nd daughter MMA fighter treats every opponent the same way RR does. She throws pro MMA guys 50# heavier that have "unbeatable sprawls". No sprawl that can stop good judo. & BBJ can only beat Judo on the mat. On the street the 1st throw ends it.
