  • How does the transmission hold up with the increased horsepower and torque? Is there any need for a tougher clutch?

  • @FutrellAutowerks even with 97 fuel would it still be necessary to upgrade the internals in a stage iii? Also which garret turbo model is used?

  • @FutrellAutowerks Is the engine internals upgraded?

Also would upgrading engine internals such as the rods necessary for daily driving?

  • @M95U Not on this car, and you wouldn't need in internal upgrades at Stage III levels on pump gas, you'd want them for race gas or Stage 3+ however.

  • You guys make this install looks so easy! I wish you were located in So. Fla. I would be a regular customer!

  • Plus ECS Tuning has the worst customer service I have ever had dealings with and I have been driving and working ob VW's for longer than I care to admit.

  • Hey legalize86 ECS tuning does not sell the K04 kit with software for 2K Your looking at more like 2,600 also the stg3 kit is making 370HP where the K04 might make 312HP on a good day, thats a big difference in my book.

  • Does this kit make the car torque steer???

  • @FNHfal7 Not really, but we did install a limited slip differential which helps, in general the MK6 really doesn't have a torque steer issue.

  • how many psi is this apr stage 3 turbo ?

  • BETTER IDEA JUST GET S3 KO4 TURBO KIT SET OF INJECTORS AND HIGH PRESS FUEL PUMP ALL AVAILABLE IN ECS TUNING COST MUCH LESS MAYBE ABOUT 2000$

  • @legalise86 Thats certainly one path, you'd never see the horsepower numbers we do, also since is a TSI you dont need injectors or high flow fuel pump like you do with a FSI.

  • @FutrellAutowerks ohh really???

  • @legalise86 APR is top of the line. you aren't going to see performance with ko4, injectors, and a stand-alone tune (even if you dyno tune it) like you would with an APR kit.

  • 1 Leute magt nicht den Wagen.

  • wow this is amazing! how much was this kit?

  • @DJLeopard316 $4999 (or $4499 on sale) Plus install-

  • @FutrellAutowerks How much is install? And what other mods would you suggest to go along with the stage III to make sure nothing blows?

  • @DJLeopard316 That varies by shop, we charge $700 for the Stage III kit itself. You dont have to worry about anything "Blowing" but there's other mods that add to your power delivery. Intake, full exhaust, charge pipe, larger intercooler, transmission/clutch upgrades are all things you'd want to think about doing at some point, either before or after the Stage III kit.

  • @FutrellAutowerks Thank you so much for the fast replies and helpful answers! I will definitely be doing this!

  • @FutrellAutowerks does this price include the apr fuel pump and intercooler?

  • @Vrejional TSI doesn't need a fuel pump and no the intercooler is not included, thats just the Stage III kit itself.

  • Great video. You guys are impressive mechanics. Thanks. I love this car.

  • I have a GTI mk6 with 2000 miles on it. How much extra hp would I get from this and how much would it cost? And I would have to leave my car at the shop for a few days, right?

  • @warikplaya We're getting an extra 140 wheel horsepower but there's some relative supporting mods in place, the front mount intercooler, lower charge pipe, exhaust, intake. If you wanted to do all of those things at once you'd be in the project about $10K and yes we'd need the car for a few days (four tops) but would provide you with a loaner car during the project. Give us a call, or stop by to chat 503 629 5999

  • So how many hours did this build take?

  • @zoso82 Everything would be around 30 billable hours, thats the full stage III install, intercooler, limited slip/clutch upgrade, brake upgrades, and suspension upgrades.

  • Thanks, I'm just trying to figure out what total cost for stage III from stock would be w/ suspension and brake upgrades plus sales tax, labor, etc. I hear conflicting amounts from 10k - 25k

  • hey apr i wanna ask.....can my stage2+ GTI use the stage 3 clutch disk????...because i'm currently saving money to upgrade it to stage 3

  • @90774677 Yes, that's a street disk with stock like feel but is a more equally matched disk to the pressure plates available clamping force.

  • @futrellautowerks ok thx.....btw how much is the grand total u spent for ur gti project????and what type of h&r suspension do u use???i wanna use it also but there's to many type

  • @futrellautowerks thx...so the stage II+ hve a better fuel economy than the standard?btw do u hve any branch cause i really love ur garage...it's just awesome

  • @90774677 Nope, but pretty close to the same, it''ll depend on how you drive it. Technically your fuel ecomomony will likely improve with Stage 1 or Stage 2 as the timing is more advanced so it doesnt require as much fuel to get the same results as it would stock.

  • hey futrell i wanna ask....i have a 2010 golf gti mk6 for daily use.....until what stage should i take for excellent fuel economy...sorry for my bad english.......is the stage 3 have a good fuel economy?

  • @90774677 Stage II + for good fuel economy, Stage III cuts into the MPGs quite a bit

  • hey...i wanna know how much is the total cost for all of the upgrade of this gti....???thx

  • hey guys id like to know what you think is the best intake for this car right now? or if you would recommend the borla catback exhausts

and this guys looking sick i wanna see it run

  • @tomatoe58 Carbonio Intake System, no question about it. We've installed the Borla Cat-back its a nice sound system, the power comes from the downpipe however, so if you want more power look into a downpipe.

  • @FutrellAutowerks yea im almost certain on getting both of those. the cat back and carbonio. and now i might even look into the down pipe also haha

    thanks a lot guys

  • Forgot to ask, what brand and model cordless Impact guns and cordless impact screwdrivers do you use in this and other vids? They all seem very efficient for you and I'm in the market for a few. Thanks in advance.

  • @jjrock5 Snap-On/Bluepoint, Makita makes a good product too-

  • nice vid!

  • I want to do something with my new 2010 gti. what do you suggest? and how much does a kit like that cost? I won't go over 10k $.

  • @ChuckyBaby13 Stage II + for the average enthusiast, excellent fuel economy, excellent power delivery. Under $2K

  • @FutrellAutowerks i was wondering if you guys have a position open as a technician? i have all certification and degrees for any automotive field. I also studied high performance engine building for 2 years.

  • @EH3Hatch Shoot us a resume, certifications are great, usually you'll need a few years of on the job experience to get into an independent shop. Dealers are more flexible getting in out school but the rate of acceleration can be slow.

  • you make it look so easy.......,

  • APR rules simple as that. Get off your wallet and buy this kit, you won't regret it.

  • lovely video thank you!

  • i wish you guys were located in California... =/

  • With this upgrade, does the gti still get good gas millage, or does it get less gas millage?

  • @Ukeeba Fuel mileage drops w/Stage III, it increases with Stage 1/2 however.

  • what was increase in the power from that and how much did the whole thing cost?

  • What does it run on the 1/4 mile?

  • @GripS2K We'll find out pretty soon, our tracks officially open.

  • about how much wuld be the cost of installation of this turbo kits and and an apr cat-back exhaust system?

  • would have been nice to hear a before and after

  • @ElliottHawkins1 We'll be adding some driving footage in the coming weeks. There's also other videos under our user name that show the car on the dyno, before/after and road testing the car stock.

  • @ElliottHawkins1 At our shop the MK5/6 TSI labor is $700, that price will vary by the shop. There would be no charge for the cat-back with the Stage III kit.

  • @ElliottHawkins1 Check out the other videos we have, plenty of before/after comparisons.

  • how long did it take you guys to install this

  • About eight hours with the cameras on (slightly less without)

  • doesn't the engine need to be broken in? only 88 miles, crazy!

  • @tadman3d Testament to the quality of Volkswagen's TSI engine, and our confidence in the products we sell.

  • Ive just been out driving a Mk6 Golf GTI with a APR stg3 kit on it (plus a few other tweaks), and its a damn good car, impressed.

  • You guys make it look so easy!!! LOL 'Nice work. I'm jealous! I love my SRT-4, but I'd certainly love to add a VW to the stable!

  • Subscribed, you guys are awesome

  • lol miley cyrus at 7:25

  • Yeah she stops by occasionally to sing for us, she's a nice girl.

  • lol very nice

  • es tocamela

  • The 2010 MAF sensor is right next to the battery. The older models the MAF sensor is above the oil cap is that why you have to get an extension? The intake doesn't have an opening for the updated version?

  • No its in the same place as the MK5, the re-tooling costs would be too high to justify changing the piece.

  • Total of all the setup ????

  • To duplicate with all of the mods we did? Around $12K, the Stage III kit installed around $5200. (intercooler extra)

  • How much is the cost of installation? Cause I can see this not the job for a shade tree mechanic...

  • That would vary by the hourly rate of the shop you use and if they charge a hourly rate or a flat fee. We flat fee Stage III kits. the MK5/MK6 TSI kit Labor is $750

  • looks like lots of work for most people

good with stage 2 exhauste ,filter, chip.

  • Hello!

Is it a garrett turbocharger? Which model!

    Thanks!

  • Its a GT28, but in a custom trim designed by APR.

  • where are you guys located?? i wanna go stage 3 eventually and you guys seem to do a good, clean job with this kit and 750 is great for all the labor involved :) go apr!!! i have a mkv by the way...

  • @higheronetwothree Beaverton, Oregon. Is your MK5 a TSI? the FSI install is quite a bit more from the extra time to install the injectors and fuel pump.

  • YES!!!
