I bet plenty of people watched this and thought "Hey I could be cool and dance like that", then they went out with their friends and made a right idiot of themselves jumping around like losers.
I see this song as being pivotal in Ray Davies' career. I think he is bidding his muse, England, goodbye as he heads towards a new muse in America. He feels totally disconnected from everything he's ever known but he still has to leave all that behind and try to find something new in order to survive. Then again, I'm probably way off target with this.
How can anyone be depressed after listening to this song on this particular site? It's the music, be it dude or dudess! I don't give a rat's ass about a video to a song. If a song is worth shit, the best movie maker in the world cannot redeem it, at least for my ears, anyway. Close your bleeping eyes and open up the two orifices between your brain, idiot! If it takes a video to make a song I don't even want to hear it. Am I addressing the tasteless youth of today or what?
temazo! y video que me hace sentirme representado... me hace acordar a noches que he pasado bailando así como bailan así :) una sensación parecida a la que me causa deadbeat club
This footage is from Philippe Garrel's Regular Lovers.. His incredibly beautiful son, Louis Garrel was seen in the first bit, laying on the couch.. one of my favorite films ever... if you haven't seen it yet.. make a serious plan to get it...
didn't i read somewhere that this vid..was shot for a film school project? ray davies is one of my top five all greatest song writer's. his output is almost unequaled.
Just for the record, The Kinks' This Time Tomorrow was used in this movie - Les Amants Reguliers - in 2005 way before it was used in The Darjeeling Limited.
