Dude nice setup. But the only thing i can pick wrong is the install. People can have the best speakers, TV home theater, etc but stuff it all up with the install...Dude HIDE your speaker cables....Otherwise nice system.

what do you guys reccomend LCD or plasma?

For everyday use in a moderately to brightly-lit room and for gaming, LCD is the best.

For use in a dark room for mainly watching movies, Plasma is the best.

I personally would go LCD because you don't have to worry about "burn-in" and they run cooler. Also my room can be brightly lit during the day and most LCDs have an anti-glare screen.

im pretty sure in 5-10 years there gonna make a new type of display replacing lcd and plasma because they have been out for quite a time.... yes plasmas are a dying technology but tho they dont last as long as an lcd they have a better picture quality but it all depends on what u want to do

Picture-wise, plasmas aren't better in every way, LCDs tend to have a higher native resolution for their screen size. The main advantage plasma has is it can produce deeper black levels. And all the latest tv technologies include LCD technology in some way. LED backlit displays are one example(rather than a florescent lamp) and OLED is also probably the newest tv technology available to consumers today. But I wouldn't expect plasmas to stay around much longer(not much more than 5 years)

Yeah I know, the LED backlight displays are awesome as well. They have much better black-levels than standard flourescent blacklit displays. And OLED displays will be even better! They are REALLY expensive tho, Sony makes an 11' OLED screen and it runs for between 2-$3000. And it's technically not even HD! I guess if you want the latest and greatest technology, you'll have to pay for it.
