Yes! I tend to agree with you about the saint and sinner era, could you imagine, the likes of Leave it to Beaver, being on prim time in today World. We have become way too cynical and righteous, to think something as good as a close family can happen, So I ‘d say that is why, Three Rivers didn’t cut it, Yet it did drive a message home about Organ Donation, something I knew very little about, but have since changed my views. Everyone I have spoken to about Three Rivers has said the same.

Loved the Shield, O’Loughlin was good in it, but liked him better in Criminal Minds, and MOONLIGHT it showed how versatile he is.

I feel Hawaii Five 0 is going to be more HIM, as I hear, he is a bit of a larrikin, it will be a vessel where he can prove to all his critics how good he is.

And Yes! Again re House, love it, but sometimes I feel like putting my fist through the TV, as like you say he is confronting, sarcastic and in you face.

@aveeguy53 Good eye! Yes you did. Jack Lord gave the car to his stunt guy when the show finished and he's had it ever since, kept in its original condition. The new producers are going to use it. How, I don't know.

You're not seeing things. That IS INDEED the car that Jack Lord drove in the original series. Yes, he gave it to a stunt man when the show ended but somehow it still wound up in the garage scene of the new show. I thought it looked "awfully familiar too". LOL!

Love the on screen chemistry between Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Cann, I can understand all the buzz, it does look like it is, going to be very entertaining, lets hope CBS isn't going to mess this one up.

@emkyel I tend to agree. Only have this to go and Iam covering a junket for this show this week but the decision to make Caan and O'Laughlin an odd couple might pay off. Good idea to making Danny a wiseacre.

Let me just say and I don't care who disagrees but Caan looks like he is going to steal this show.

If it becomes a hit, he will be a star.

@emkyel O'Laughlin is a good actor and he was especially good in MOONLIGHT, a good show that was not surprisingly cancelled by CBS.

However, based on what I have seen thus far, Caan is stealing this show acting wise. His bitching and moaning take on Danno is fare more inteersting than what James McArthur did years ago.

In the original, Jack Lord's character was pretty cheesy, But! I loved it back then. Where as today's character of Steve McGarrett is going to be far more interesting and edgy, as they will be able to get away, with a lot more.

@emkyel You will find, that the two characters will complement each other, with out Steve, Danno will not be as bitching, Steve knows how to press Danno's buttons.

So! I don't think it is a fact that Caan can act better or will be the better of the two. It's a case of O'Loughlin making Danno look good, and once they settle into their rolls, it will be a case of, it won't work, without the two of them workng together, and to do this they will both have to be great actors.

Most TV characters were not three dimensional plus you couldn't showed flawed people on tv back then. Either you were a saint or sinner which is bullshit.

Take HOUSE, you could never have a character like that as the main protagonist because he is much too sarcastic, cutting and in-your-face.
