  • 30 years ago... THIRTY.

That's fucking crazy. Where did my life go?

  • lujas10 - wow - let me mull that 1 over n' reply!

cheers, mate! k - yeah a direct 'inspiration,' but unlike "he's so fine," chiffons that g. harrison did (unintentionally i think) steal for my sweet lord ... i think the bassline aside that the jam BARLEY clear the legal bar! the bassline as u say is nicked!

  • lol... weller doesn't cheap out on guitar picks ;-)

  • Strange to think, Bruce only played bass because no one else would. Class bassist

  • it'll be the 30th anniversary next march (2012) go figure, where is the celebration?

  • Time is short

    Life is cruel

It's up to us to change this town called Malice!

  • notice listeners - who ripped of the keyboard part and general 'lilt' of the song? bum springsteen, glory days and the kinks - come dancing.

  • @caesarcerf Good call, but Weller himself 'lifted' the bass line and general chords from 'Can't Hurry Love', not the Phil Collins pop shite cover, but yes the orginal bass line etc what do you think?

  • great lyrics. great song.

  • I will always consider that Bass line one of the best...ever...

  • the STYLE council

  • 2,4 6 8 who do we appreciate? Paul Weller that's who! ♥

  • bass player has the THE mullet..that's bruce foxton

  • Great live video of the Jam classic. It translates well to live performance. Although I don't speak or read Danish, the lyric subtitles were a thoughtful touch, I wish American and English live TV music shows also displayed lyric subtitles, especially for the Jam songs; Paul Weller is often difficult to understand, at least for this Yank.

  • @poopologist96 yea no shit i had to look up the lyrics for most their songs

  • is that his rickenbakker?

  • one of the best songs ever made top 5 atleast

  • @frenchielcfc I'm just now reading your post and I swear that I said the same thing this afternoon to a friend of mine. I'm glad their are people that recognize the true beauty in such a fabulous song.

  • @Eltroim YEAAH!!!

  • @Eltroim bass player is Mac Gyver

  • it's incredible: there's no video of the studio version on Youtube. Can anyone post it?

  • Such a catchy (in a good way) song. remember it from Billy Elliot.

  • Wow great vocal/performance! superb

  • 4 piece band .. guitar,drums,bass.keyboards. Beautiful.

  • Actually, the guy playing keyboard live wasn't part of the band. Paul Weller(vocals, guitar) played the keyboard in the studio

  • I like that organ sound ;DD .. its like 50s

  • Cheers mate, top!

  • I love the way he sang "just going round and round" near the end different from the LP. They were simply brill. Thanks for posting this one.
