The secular definition of 'prophesy' is to predict the future. In the Bible, prophets spoke in the name of the Lord. It's bad to make false predictions like this when no man knows the day or hour , but there is a difference between wrongly interpreting the Bible and being a false prophet. The secular definition of 'prophesy' is to predict the future. In the Bible, prophets spoke in the name of the Lord. If someone misinterprets a passage on eschatology and tells others--not just date setters, is he a false prophet? Btw, I don't think you handled this well at all.
