  • i love this, rather tempted to buy one from hobbyking myself!

  • nice!

  • Could you post how many watts and amps you're making?

  • Sorry to ask ... but my doppler speed checker gives MAX speed at any point in the flights of 183 kph ... the 206 kph flight gives 176 kph ....... I think the ET logger is giving momentary speed max - not a sustained level pass which is more acceptable for official logging.

I'm not being an ass ... just would like to get to real figures. I'm fitting a Turnigy Rx switch to activate my logger for official runs ...

  • Interested in the Eagle Tree logger ... as I am trying to find way to switch on / off in flight to get true level pass speed .. because I bet your high speed result is when model is diving into the pass ... not straight level ?

  • Whoa. . . . . . . . . . =)

  • Guys, awsome video. I take it thats the police padocks site? I was so impressed i ordered the lander fan from fanjets USA, ( only place i could find one at 4300kv model ) and the t-45 from hobbyking. I notice you have what looks like wire suspenders to keep the wing tips up on take off-landing and also a lower dorsal fin at the front lower end to keep the nose up, is that correct? awsome aircraft and how cheap!!

  • Is this the hobby king 64mm T45

  • nice spot landings,,,the way it should be.

  • @RCSkunkWorksADP If you want to give doppler a try: I dopplered it with Windows software WaveOscope (www_sprut_de/electronic/soft/scope_htm) '_'=dot. If you have Win7 (like myself) you need to run the software in compatibility-mode: Windows 2000. Then it works pretty good. Not sure though if it works on 64bit systems. Basically I record the soud of the video with the sound recorder of Win7, then with mediamonkey I convert the files to .wav files. Then those files can be opened with waveOscope.

  • @Ericmodelanotche Hey, Thanks for all the info on how to calculate a Doppler speed. I’ll give it a go next time round. And I hear you! Regarding all the FALSE!! High speed claims that are on here! I think for now on, I’ll use both onboard airspeed sensor and Doppler, to verifier my own speed claims.

  • @RCSkunkWorksADP Hey, no problem. I think the airspeed sensor is good for giving you a reading "at-the-field". The result will probably be in the ballpark of the doppler, unlike some gps-loggers... Looking forward to see you break the soundbarrier ;-)

  • @Ericmodelanotche

Much easier with RCSpeedo .......... no need for all that left / right click stuff .... - RCSpeedo gives speeds at all measureable points of a flight ... direct without you needing to work !

  • @RCSkunkWorksADP Hi, i just did a doppler to do a quick ckeck of the speed. All the time i see youtube movies with high speed claims (from gps devices) but real speed is sometimes only half of that! Yours is quite close, thats nice :). The best result is obtained when the plane flies directly towards a non-moving camera/sound recorder device. For acurate result also the air temperature has to be known, so that will probably explain the difference. Airspeed-eagletree should be accurate I guess.

  • @Ericmodelanotche And for now on, I’ll also record the air temperature, and publish it with the video so others like yourself can accurately test my claims. But I think it is always a good thing to have 3rd party like yourself to test these speed claims… once again, many thanks.

  • I dopplered the first pass (@ 0:14) and depending on the temperature, i get a reading between 198-201km/h, so the airspeed meters isn't that far off !

    Very nice sounding jet !

  • Your jet sounds sooooo cool! Can you please tell me which model RC Lander 64mm EDF unit you have? I found 3 different 64 mm models from RC lander. Thanks

  • @gregpirolo Thanks! and the EDF unit I'm running 4300 KV model....

  • @RCSkunkWorksADP You mean, RC Lander 64mm 4300kv 4S Lipo Metal Fan? About $100 from rc electric jets dot com? Also, you flying in Aus?

  • Wow!! Love the AIRCRUSH sound.....cant belive how good it sounds....is this a composite jet or foam? Nice flying skills too!

  • @precisionboatbuilder Thanks for the comment, appreciate the feedback. And this is the foam version.

  • Lol these are nrver 214km/h lol.

  • @flybyBL Then prove it!!

  • ongratulations on this flight I bought one so I'm waiting to get it to fly with him I hope to do 10% of what you did I would be satisfied

  • @fer0101 Thanks! good luck! let us know how its gos...
