@kirbycutta I don't know about that because in Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario's attack is a spin, not a punch. I think a spin wouldn't break that part. So it might have been that Nintendo had taken the hidden 1-up that you saw in this video out.

The original is way better than the DS version. People think it is oh-so good because of all the fancy minigames and graphics and characters. the different characters = fail. It sucks to have to go all the way to the rec room, go in the door, just to get a particular star, where you could have just hit a block. The caps = fail. you can't switch back to original character, you have to take damage. Starting out as yoshi?! What about when you get 120 stars you get to see yoshi on castle?!DS=Fail

It's not like the DS game was made from scratch though. If it wasn't for this game, the DS one wouldn't have existed.

In the same way, I prefer Banjo Kazooie on the N64 to Mario 64, but Mario 64 set the standard first.

The graphics may be better on the DS, but the controls are not as good as the original- Nintendo even made some of the stars easier to get (maybe they are trying to compensate for the controls!).
