  • i love you bob,may your soul rest in peace

  • Our small axes make sound but are blunt. Big tree is Hydra ... cut one branch, 10 more spring up. Human greed and lust for power tramples over the masses. We sit back and agree with Marley, Lennon ... then shrug in hopelessness ... exactly as they planned it.

  • Always a pleasure hearing his voice !!

  • this song makes you want to get up and dance around. but the lyrics are deep. wish more people wake up and realize what is happening

  • Esse é o som, Bob Marley - Small Axe, nossa força!

  • 4 treehuggers -;-

  • nice song :)

  • 4 people have small dicks instead of a small axe

  • I'm not being anal "on a Bob Marley song" but you did get the lyrics wrong "on a Bob Marley song"

  • The 1% are the big tree and the 99% are the small axe!

  • @Jhairumeee Wrong way round bro lol

  • MUCH RESPECT TO THE PROTESTORS ATTENDING OCCUPY WALL STREET. THEY ARE THE SMALL AXE.

  • @CVCreationStepper small axes with ipods and starbucks coffees in their hands.

  • @CVCreationStepper Small axe is about oppressive corrupt and unfair government in Jamaica during the 60s and 70s. It's not an anti capatalist peice of shit like the wallstreeters.

  • @Owliganka "oppressive corrupt and unfair", I think that's EXACTLY what Occupy Wall Street was about...."peice of shit" ---> for someone who can't spell, maybe you could focus on yourself before throwing stones!

  • well sharp!

  • I miss you Iyah.

  • Coolest riif ever!

  • no weak heart shall prosper

  • i love da song rasta man lives on

  • Jah Rastafari

  • 4 People are big trees!

  • The fascist government are the tree, we are the axe.

  • @ArchitekOGP Yes, a fucking Banyan tree, slowly demolishing and separating the individual stones that compose the temple of Freedom. Freedom, what a beautiful and eager sweet word nowadays...

can't we all just get along?

what makes us so different, we all have a nose, two eyes, and about the same mind at birth, we are all (as a species) very much the same.

  • "Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher, "All is vanity."

  • Bob Marley was all that it is, Pure and True LoVe

Peace, Forgiveness and LoVe from Sweden

  • The first Bob Marley record I ever bought

  • This is the version recorded with Leslie Kong in Tuff Gong studios in 1969, before the Wailers met Chris Blackwell and signed with Island Records and got famous outside of Jamaica. This was recorded in a grungy studio with a house band, and it shows. I love this version.

  • Whenever you listening to a Bob song your cleansing your mind from all the fake, Hollywood garbage they been pumping into our minds for years. That's why it's called reggae consciencous music. And you know any celeb who ever had anything right to say in this country ends up dead.So for all Bob Marley family out there, Bun down Babbylon!!!!!

  • It makes me sick when some people diss him, knowingly or not. He's one of the only positive images I see on this planet.

  • wise words. Humble, wise and soulful

  • 0:50 The goodness of Jah Jah idureth for iver.

  • Lo mejor del mundo :D!!

  • if enyboby say eny ting bad bout d man unu just bad mind

  • bob's mission was to make the world a better place and although it still has suffering he still uplifts people with his music especially me

  • MR. Gaddafi are you listening!!! The people of Lybia are talking to you through this song

  • i would rather just enjoy this song than argue with anyone here about being right about crap further extending the power struggles

  • @JohnBullocks

whites had always belived that there higher races, but dont make ths world worse by hating them, by taking in there harsh ords they will reliize the monsters they may be and realize what they have done which will make this world better,

    One love my man

  • @nobleturd08

Noble but it stinks for ppl in power. They will remain in power bc we let them.If we get them out another will rise. Its the snake with allot of heads. You can cut them of, but what will be the outcome ? Man = to Man never worked. To qoute a poem : there is no justice just us.

Plain and simple I will let you die to make my family free of worries, You would prolly do the same without knowing me. It will never end because Human=Human but some are Human +...

  • @JohnBullocks If someone has been racist on here then why lower yourself to there standards , Im a white person and love Bob Marley , Beres Hammond , Ohhh and i dont smoke reefa's etc , I just love the music and what the man stood for , Dont judge a race by the stupid comments of one person or a couple , Your making yourself sound like a racist and as bad as them !!!!

  • @Mrlordwang007 I know man how can you dislike Bob.

  • the big tree is tha government but we have a small axe but little by little ur going down...you guys dig

  • We must al fight the devils who destroy the planet. The water, the food, the air they destroy for money which is just part of a system of control..as a human being you shoud be ready to die for these rights. Whats the use of living a life and having offspring if they cannot be healthy and live free. Rates of cancer rise, children maturing faster more violent because of drugs in the water, hormones in the food and chemtrails in the air..systematic population control part of the energy crisis.

  • Really ppl why is there a dislike button? How can u not like a man who wanted nothing more than peace, everybody jammin n smoken chillin jus njoyn life. I am willing to bet everything I own if nesta was still here the world would be a better place!!!

  • Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.

    Ronald Reagan

  • The man!

  • We are all part of this small axe.

Realise this people and we shall never be fooled again by any government.

Stand up for your rights....as Bob did.

    Cheers from Cyprus.

  • Im a small axe, Ill cut you down big tree.

  • the first time i heard bob marley was a bout 10 years ago, and ever since i've been obssesd with his music

  • I wish everyone had the heart that Bob had.

  • i LOVE bob marley, but some people just want too love him but they don't now nothing about him O.o they now just a songs which are famous, and i think they never heard for this song. wird people. anyway ; I LOVE this song <3

  • like Magic. Bob graced this hole of a planet!

  • Great performer, wise man, and a lover of God, but it's a little disturbing when people elevate him to Prophet status when Bob never claimed to be a prophet. If so I would like to see it lol. Don't get me wrong, I like bob, a lot :)

  • If you are the big tree,

    We are the small axe

    Sharpened to cut you down,

    Ready to cut you down.

  • This is the theme song of "Bob Marley - Stations Of The Cross"

  • YES WHEN PEOPLE FEEL DEM MORE THAN YOU. NEVER DAT CAUSE THE GOODNESS IS JAH JAH IS FOREVER

  • remind me of the only place on earth nine mile j.a

  • truly the greatest lyrics in the universe

  • He is truly a Prophet.

  • who is a big tree here ?

  • @eshbo I think the big tree is the idustrial nations that exploits the poor nations of the world, but thats just my opinion

  • @eshbo babylon system

  • @eshbo the cruel goverments of this world

  • @eshbo The "system" aka Babylon aka big governments and corporations and oppressive leaders etc etc

  • @eshbo Or, to put it a different way, everyone with excessive traces of evil in 'em.

  • Stand up in the face of Tyranny! Jah be praised.

  • Why are people capable of messing up the most simple lyrics? (simple as in easy to type out)

  • Who was his God? Who was his Master...Wasn't that Haile Selassie? Appreciate all he has done though for peace, despite the conflicting issues of his spiritual belief and his actual aim.

  • @ptway08 conflicting issues?

  • RIP BOB!!!ONE LOVE!

  • THIS IS THE WORD OF MY MARSTER ? RIGHT THE CROOK... WAKE UP FOOLS

  • @burnthebrits you are so right...<3 robert nesta marley

  • @burnthebrits i absolutely love how peaceful your comment is and how unpeaceful your name is! brilliant :D

  • @realsquirrellover69 man there is peace and there is war and if to get peace you have to have war then so be it . my country never wanted to fight we just want what is ours back is that to much too ask for ? hahaha :)

  • @burnthebrits dude i know, im irish :D just made me laugh.

  • I agree with you but we do not need the pope to say that Bob Marley is a saint ... He is a saint ... even more than that peace

  • @burnthebrits True that.

  • @burnthebrits I'm sure Bob Marley would whole heartedly approve your attempts to make the "world a better place" by "burning the Brits".

Fucking hate filled prick, leave the past in the past and move on.

  • @burnthebrits Unfortunately Bob Marley will never be made a saint. The biggest reason is he is not Catholic. Also, a long time ago one of the Popes declared smoking marijuana sacrileges.

  • Bob Marley Half African Half Caucasian 100% Good People and Good Jams!

  • 1/2 Caucasian 1/2 African? do you think that all African are Black? North African are Caucasian!!!!!

  • @mimou8385

1 race buddy and thats the human race, made in God's image

Caucasian , african , asian - all spirit filled people

  • Eis oh mestre Bob ... XD

  • ¡¡acha pequeña!!, eres grande Bob

  • to embermountains although you are correct that he believed in equality and color of skin should not matter however he was not a solider of christ he was rastafarian and they have an entirely different belief system

  • Rastas also are about Black liberation first and foremost. Many think Rasta is some sort of Hippie one love movement and that's not at ALL what the Rastafari Trod is about.

  • on t'aime bob <3

  • BIG tree

we are they small axe,we will cut you down

  • big fish

    small axe

  • marleys dad was white please forget the pasted it will kill you

  • Marley's dad never had a relationship with him. He did not know his father at all. Marley was not raised in white culture so he did not identify with it at all. If he had been raised in a mixed household he would have seen both worlds. In 1945 when he was born, that was unheard of.

  • @HaliB75 yes i agree with you in them days it was differant for blacks and whites but we all have the same rights now .. its just when i read some commetts on here i think to my self move on for fuck sake there are to many people living in the past you no? thanks for the commett and by the way marley is classsssss

  • @leemeires We don't have the same rights today at all. There is now hidden racism and systemic racism that is now covert and not overt. It's cloaked and shrouded because statistics show that the unemployment rate is higher for minorities in the USA who may have the same skills as their white counterparts.

  • Red lining still exists where certain people are shunned from housing but told something else came up to prevent them from getting housing in a certain area. Just because Obama is President does not mean that racism is over and that everyone has the same opportunities. That's a joke.

  • @HaliB75 i understand what your saying . im from england but live in thailand this is how i see it iv been all over the world what you tend to find is raceis white or black tend to stick with there own thay fill safer and that can apply when hiring people there are jobs out there but some people dont want to find them in england if you are quilyfied you will get the job black or white but i must say racism is not as bad in england as it is in the us you lot just seem to be filled with

  • @HaliB75 hate and yes you are right the minorities will always have the under hand that applys every were as well and as for housing blacks indians have the same rights women and kids go top of the list there will always be these debates and racism will always be there im affrade

  • join my rein over mental slavery a thought is all u need to break the chain of enslavment

  • Bob was an awesome guy love em regardless of his religion color etc he to me is a musically brilliant and very moving and inspirational.

  • Marley was a soldier of christ, God doesn't see color so quit with your racisms in discriminating aboutHis color, your color, and everyone elses color, And get on with lovin Jah (God).

  • Bob Marley is the most inspirational person of all time.

  • one chop

  • " me dont have any ambition, the only ambition me have is to see mankind come together-black, white, china, everyone". This is a quote from Bob,.so people please stop trying to rip the man into two halves. One love

  • @bgee4 One love!

  • @bgee4 .What about women kind(how many kids has he got)???? Plus Rasta's don't think twise about knocking fuck out of their wifes/three little birds...ETC!!!!!!

  • @bgee4 "Good comes to him that does good" - Jah

  • even if you are half white and half black you are considered BLACK

  • This song is for black people.

  • You Know bob Was half white right? :)

    One love<3

  • Yes.

But that wasn't the side that he identified with, that's for damn sure. Not to say he rejected or detested whites, but as an oppressed "black" man (considered as such by the dominant society) his songs of struggle and overcoming obviously pertain to his black brothers and sisters.

  • well ether way i think this song can help anyone black or white get past the struggles of our daily lives, its all in how you take in the music.

    One love<3

  • But it identifies more with a political struggle. It's not about small, trivial matters, it's about oppression and subjugation, particularly the sort of racial dominance and hegemony that whites have imposed upon people's of color all throught the world. It can mean whatever you want it to mean to you, but if you listen to the lyrics and you know about Bob Marley then you would know that this song is about oppression.

  • pffft. Bob Marley didn't care about his long lost white side. He saw himself as black and it's reflected in the music.

Don't kid yourself, Marley was as black power and black unity as it gets--his heroes were Marcus Garvey and Haille Sellasie. That's um, pretty black.

That said, Bob knew his bread and butter were bought in Babylon from paleskins.
