Virginia Tech is a State Mandated "Gun Free Zone" meaning you can not carry a firearm there (NO EXCEPTIONS). The shooter targeted his school because he wanted a body count and media attention. If the school was not a "Gun Free Zone" I doubt the shooter would have been so quick to target the school as armed opposition would have reduced the body count. I also want to point out that Gun Control Crowd seems very unwilling to admit that "GFZ's" have done just the oppose of what they promised.

It has not worked in countries that banned guns. The overall rate of violent crime in both England and Australia went up after gun bans went into effect. You cannot look at gun violence alone, you have to look at overall violence. The country with the highest murder rate of the 20th century was Soviet Russia, which had a total ban on civilian gun ownership.
