  • Interesting look into what things used to be like, I remember well the first time I started looking back into tf's around 1999 and how small the community was. It will be interesting to see how far it actually continues to grow. Someone asked me the other day about my preference of being single and whether i was worried about being alone. When you think about it, do you think that is an outdated concept that will apply less especially with our generation and later ones? The internet, it's great!

  • I can't add much to the discussion, but I really enjoyed this! Great stuff man.

  • Thank you, enjoyed that!

  • @DreadwindsGhost

it was a good look, I have really enjoyed going back and reading a lot of these, fascinating stuff. It's amazing to think how slow information was then, in a month there was maybe 5/6 news stories and it was a half page of text, just think of many lines of text the news section of your pod cast would be? We really are so spoiled now with the amount and accessibility of information and fan resources.\

oh and a tick for you for knowing the answer to the cartogropher question.

  • This is amazing.....utterly amazing.....I remember buying wargaming magazines, White Dwarf and keeping them as a reference. I have them but I don't need them as the Internet and the Lexicanum has it all. It's like Morrowind vs. Oblivion. In Morrowind you have to go find shit, Oblivion points the way.

    This is amazing.

  • @Vigadeath same, remember when you used to read a magazine multiple times also? really savour the information because it was all there was. I remember knowing white dwarf issues back to front, really getting into the content knowing I would not get more for another month.

the oblivion vs morrowind analogy is a good one, fuck I loved morrowind, feeling so lost in a way but also feeling like it was a real world, plus it was filled with grumpy racist elves.

  • that's very cool. how many of those do you have? like how many issues?

I wonder if Scott or Dave are still into transformers?

printed tech specs.. fuckin right! that's very cool. are they redded out for use with the cellophane "reader"

    thanks much for sharing!

  • @DrewsiferXXX I have about 16 of these, interestingly enough, the guy who made these is still running an Australian transformers forum where some of the others still post, ( the community has changed a bit though and I feel a little out of place there sadly)

I am going to try and track down some of the people and see what they are up to now, amazingly one of the guys from another state is now a friend of mine through another hobby altogether, small crazy world

  • way too epic......

thanks for share-in that delicious piece of history
