  • 0:42 was that guy crying?

  • the best one

  • Aww no thunderstorm at the beginning. Still awesome though. Well done Roger, and PP.

  • And the Germans kill the Jews and the Jews kill the Arabs kill the hostages and that is the news! Could not be more true.

  • I've thought for a long time Roger Waters owns the title of Van Gogh reincarnated; but a hundred years later and now a poet, musician and a showman.

  • The crowd seems pretty subdued, considering they're witnessing the greatest performance they will ever attend....

  • @groutbrook ,, I went to see this concert, and the wall this year.. I was speechless, the greatest concerts for sure. Roger is awesome live!!! I hope he lives forever,, and tours forever!!!

  • @groutbrook Suck much Roger cock?

  • I think he wants to get sued by Kubrick! No propbably not. Than he'd lose his percious aninimity.

  • was at this concert with the lads and missus frist time a saw him and this song still sends shock waves thru me so many memories

  • And we don't still understand, there is the BP making a desaster only for money. And who can stop them? Its worst a petty thief that stole just fur hungry? but they are in prision and BP Director`s play golf in their bots, We don't have a chance, we don't want to see!!

  • i saw in BUENOS AIRES, HE IS THE BEST!

  • ich liebe es...

  • The perfect way to show how fucked up our society is...... He uses his music as a tourch against ignoranc of the mass. ROCK ON ROGER.

  • On of the best songs even written In my opinion.

  • «Most people are no better than animals who do not have intelligence because they don't use their intelligence, and to these men who control things behind the scenes you are steaks on the table [and beasts of burden], by choice and consent, and will always be ruled, manipulated and enslaved by people who do use their brains.»

-- William "Bill" Cooper, quoting Albert Pike

  • and it is ok....i am from Venezuela, our politics talks a lot about socialism, comuinism, etc etc......and facism, and liberallism, and capitalism too......ou yeah...they are not the same, but ALL OF THEM ARE OPRESSIVE!!!!!!!!

  • In Cuba you can not buy guitar strings...like daddario or dean markley, cuz are from the states..........And in may country you can not buy it too...why?? BECAUSE ARE VERY EXPENSIVE!!! JAJAJAJAJAJA it`s the same fuckin opression!!! JAJAJAJA

  • Rpger works is very important because he is from europe, and it`s ok, he is against the sistem, and it`s ok,,,,,, he take the hard road, not the long transitated and easy way............ any way he must be contient at his own contradiction: he is a rock star with a lot of money.........

  • Waters is just wrong, unfortunately because he writes some great melodies and chord progressions. However, the reason one might study technical "manuels" might be to protect the freedom that allows pompous jackasses to write stuff about which they know nothing. His father died fighting socialism/fascism and now he embraces it. Reagan wasn't always right (religion/drug prohibition) but I'll take him defending my rights over this pussy Waters anyday. What a fool.

  • @brazenhubris

No his father was a socialist who died fighting fascists and nationalists, there's a difference you know. Oh and what he means by the technical manuals could be said to be that they are a form of control over how people think and feel, no??

  • @KRossKo

I didn't comment on the politics of his father, as I don't know. His father was fighting the national socialist party, that I do know. I'm pretty sure someone in a position to command a nuclear submarine could easily choose another field, but I think most believe in their mission. Rog hates capitalism- though or perhaps because it made him rich(er). Maybe he feels guilty, I don't know. I just know he's wrong, so I can't give him a pass because he's a great artist.

  • Hitler, and his "National Socialist" Nazi party were basically facists. Far right. They hated communism and everything it stood for. Roger and his dad appear to be supporters of the whole equality ideology of communism.

  • socialism and facism were two totally different things, good buddy.

  • @TheElusiveBirdMan

As I point out in my brilliant book from '94, the only difference is the identity of the entity behind the gun that's pointing at you. With Fascism, it may be a guy you don't know. With socialism, it may be a guy you do know. It may be your good buddy, for example, good buddy.

  • Nigga that doesn't make sense. It's a political belief, and both of them are opposites.

  • @TheElusiveBirdMan

Nah, you're just too "smart" for your own good. Either you get to do what you want with your life, or you don't. I don't give a shit who it forcing me to do something other than what I would choose, whether it's pitching in on a socialist ideal, or making me kneel in front of a pit with a gun to the back of my head. Do you want your shit-pie with or without ice-cream?

  • Teoretically....but at the practice are not so different pal...............

  • Hablame en español.....sos argentino...... primero.... OK??? jajajajaja tu vives igual que yo...solo que tu country ha sido pisado por mas botas militares que el mio......jejejeje y tu tranquilo........ entonces "man"???? jajajajaja AGUANTE MY ARGENTINIAN FRIEND!!! ....

  • @cuerpoeperra eh "cuerpoeperra" Si soy ARGENTINA Y QUE !!!? Aca somos "cuerpoatierra" por tantas botas militares que nos han pisado jajajaja ta todo bien loco!!!! My VENEZUELAIN FRIEND

  • Ah... y el spanglish es jodiendo...no creas que aqui hablamos asi..... It`s OK?!?!?!

  • @cuerpoeperra heyyyyy you´re on my way zick zick By the way el spanglish es porque aqui atacamos por la guardia y la retaguardia OK???

  • ..........

  • so beautiful *sniffs*

  • is he lip syncing? its not a hard song to sing at all. what the fuck.

  • I've seen his live show twice, this tour played Vegas. I can assure you he was not lip syncing. And during this song in Vegas, the backup singer flubbed the words.

  • what does it mean to "flub" the words.

  • She screwed them up, got them wrong. It wasn't a big deal and because she's a pro she kept on going, but anyone who knew the lyrics caught it.

  • should read properly and i will know!

  • where was this vid take??

  • just wondering how you can love Roger Waters and not like this song. This just about sums him up for me. Perfection.

  • Nice vid.

How do I get mine to sound this good ?

  • Comment removed

  • RadicalDreamer420> That is about the stupidest comment about a legend of music I have heard to date....You sir or madam are nothing more than useless pantie-waste....

  • well said oOBlackHandOo

  • Masterpiece. Best record of the 90s.

    Peace.

  • @rockaires This is the most incredible album I may have ever heard.

  • Against the capitalism......but it is part of it....anyway it`s a brave triying for open the minds!! sorry for my english, i am from southamerica.

  • This man breathe the music and that's the truth!!

  • im gonna have to say, waters had much more creative genious the gilmour on their solo tours, a momentary lapse and the division bell are amazing. but get repetative, i love how waters continued his rock opera. but i miss pink floyd i wish i was older would have loved to seen them in concert

  • saw them at the rainbow finsbury park where floyd performed Dark Side before it was recorded. small venue only about 1000 people!!

  • I love Roger,,,,He will always live in his music.....

  • Very good song! Thanks for sharing this great video!

  • perfect...........:-)

  • nice vid..great sound!!

  • Roger Waters is Pink Floyd.

  • They are all Pink Floyd. Neither Roger Waters, David Gilmor, or Sid Baret are Pink Floyd alone. Together they are.

  • It all made perfect sense until the financial crisis

  • how the hell did they do that floating astronaut?

  • it's remote control!! saw him in the 02 Arena last year

  • I presume it's filled with helium so it floats, and it has a couple of little fans on it operated by remote control.

  • that sounds right

  • @ManfredDeJesus correct. i saw a show from the same tour in detroit.

  • I love Roger Waters! I sent him a letter and he sent me an autographed picture! My boyfriend and I saw him i Boston 2 years in a row! He comes back in concert we'll be there again! We took the train down from Portland Maine..It was worth the trip! Peace

  • GEORDIE.

    **

Your giving Geordies a fucked name.

    **

You have no clue what your on about.

    **

    Dumb, stupid Geordie mother fucker.

  • Gardenofarcane, if you dislike Roger Waters so much why do seem to have spent an inordinate amount of your time typing his name into the YouTube search engine?

  • Gardenofarcane, were you privy to all the arguments involving Waters? I thought not.....not many were but everyone's an expert on it aren't they?

I'm not interested in what he does in his personal life, nor am I interested in who he's fallen out with. It's irrelevant to me. He's a musician and writes damn fine songs.

  • Yes he's a musician but he write about politics and morality, he should practice first then preach. Or at least stop writing about shit he don't know anything about.

  • And what shit would that be then? Whatever you may think he's entitled to comment on whatever he sees fit, just as you or I or anyone else is. That's free speech working for you........

  • yes he has right to be a hypocrite.

  • Nothing more real that this song. This is the story of the human life in the earth.

  • Roger's voice will live forever.....I've seen him twice in Australia He'll never die!

  • The music indeed is divine..... just does not die after decades & decades....

  • Where was this filmed? It looks alot like a show I went to around that time at the Tweeter Center in Massachusetts.

  • ROGER não é deus. Ele é simplesmente o músico mais talentoso de todos os tempos... até onde eu sei deus não é compositor.

  • Roger is not God. He has alot of insight and the talent to bring it out. I've seen him 2x and met him once , what a truly sympathetic and truly thoughtful and caring individual he is. Enjoy

  • i was naked while I watched this video! 6

  • Some of Rogers music has always been political. I was actually at this concert and it was one of the most incredible nights of my life. He is a truely inspiring man.

  • i think roger thinks hes god

  • I think you think there is actually a god.

  • He IS God

  • Roger Waters is not God and he does not have a connection to anything spiritual or otherworldly. He is just very talented and competent.

  • Nope he is a god...Bigger than jesus, mohammad, moses and buddha combined..plus he is better at bass than they will ever be...He also runs with scissors, can play in front of millions without the urge of anxiety...and he can skiffle better than any other 66 year old could...jesus can't skiffle can he?! plus he loves obama

  • You are both wrong. Its an existential question as there is no god. If there was, he would have permanently reunified pink floyd so that I could go and see them before i die.

  • god doesn't exist, but if he did he'd be something like roger waters. does that keep us happy?

  • he's a highly liberated and evolved soul and that makes him God, but in our own ways we all are too.

  • Roger Waters is Roger Waters...nothing more, nothing less.

  • What are you talking about he's not a "terrible person"?!

  • My complain is that he doesnt forgive anyone! let alone his old (friends) band mates he stopped working with Storm Thogerson the designer of all floyd's record covers(hypgnosis), because he worked on Momentary lapse of reason and Bob Ezrin too

"Each man has his price Bob, yours was pretty low" (rememeber too much rope) now what kind of a person bitch about his old friends and all Humanity? in "It's a Miracle" he's a hypocrite.

  • you actually KNOW him?wow, until i get to know him like you do i will allways think he is God. :)

  • this is an open discussion page and we r all entitled to our own opinion...............some may not be worth the time it takes to read though

  • I've seen Roger Waters five times in concert. and I love him dearly. However, this last time, it was a purely political show - anti US propoganda spray painted on the pig, and this speech ahead of "Leaving Beiruit." I bootlegged the entire show on video and am glad to have the footage but I really wish rock stars would stop thinking that we look to them for political views. It took a lot out of the show. My opinion only. Aside from that, it was an incredible show.

  • Hate to say this man but song in its self is pretty political in its self don't you think?

  • PP Arnold no tiene madre con esa voz :)

  • Thank you for posting. Much appreciated...peace...j.o...

  • roger waters is the man! Awsome, seen him in london this year. What a buzz!!!!! Deep music with real meaning!! love it!

  • <3 pink floyd in my heart

  • I went to Catholic schools for 9 years and never had a religious experience til i saw Waters live in Tampa Florida. The best concert I EVER seen

  • I agree.....seeing him live was very nearly a religious, life changing experience. I saw him in Tampa as well...from the 4th row. I always felt the people who were so emotionally moved by certain performers were some how " a little off"....but I am now one of them. Don't want to sound like a p****, but I was literally brought to tears watching him. I'm a 42 y/o guy, and I've seen Floyd twice, but this is the best, bar none

    Lee

  • Floyd all the way!Roger is amazing as a man and religion is there with him! He fights it back like we all do!

  • @joetarach guess they dont teach you grammar at those catholic schools either? okay that was mean, but hey. I saw this tour twice and it was incredible both times. this song was the highlight for me. I'm seeing The Wall this Thursday!

  • "History is for fools" I wish my school thought the same thing !

  • your all fuckin monkeys compared to the genius who is roger waters

  • This is a beautiful song.

  • what's with the commentary in the song? i don't get it. what is it referring to? and how about the monkey? what's up with that? where did that come from? what's the meaning of that i guess would be the main theme i'm trying to get across here. :P

  • I got chills... the good kind! :) brilliant!

  • One of the best albums ever created. One of the few that has ever truly brought me to tears

  • the audience is speachless i love it

  • this song brought me to tears last summer.

Im familiar with this song but his emotion was so evident

  • Great video of a great song.

  • Roger Waters is a beast! It's too bad nobody takes his solo career as seriously as his Pink Floyd days. At the concert, I was the only one who knew this song, and most of the people around me where getting up to take a piss or get another beer. Rock on Roger!

  • I always watch concerts all the way through. I saw people getting beer during Have a Cigar and even a few leaving before the end of Comfortably Numb! What a shame.

  • I was hoping to see that explosion again did ye feel the heat omg, cool video lad.

  • i saw this show last sunday at the 02 arena in london, and it was far and away the best gig i have ever seen.

  • I got crazy when I heard this live, I wish he could have played all 'amused to death' live ! .. .I waited for 10 hours to be in the fence and I made it, and roger saw who else is singing all my songs ... I was crazy and he saw me ... this is no kidding... only for big fans who understand this amazing feeling

  • Its a beautiful song. He can good singing. This girl is better... Perfect music!!! '.'

    :)

  • seen him live twice.......... i agree with cyyyggnus, there are no words to describe that night

  • Just got back from seeing him at the

Woodands in Houston. Awesome and powerful!!!

    Beyond words.....

    cygnus

  • same here that was the best show ever

  • I just saw this show last night, HE IS THE MASTER!

  • i wonder how many people actually get every referrance in the first part of this tune?

  • There are so many references! Here are some..

    (0) HAL voice= ref to the 2001 theme of the song

    (1) the monkey= the monkey from the album concept who watches tv

    (2) the stones/broken bone = 2001 reference

    (3) memory's a stranger/history is for fools = reference to Israels defence policy

    (4) Pool of holy writing= Using religious dogma to overcome guilt/justify murder

  • ROGER OFR PRESIDENT!

  • I wish but he was not born in America and cannot be the president.

  • where whas he born?

  • roger waters was born in uk...he truly is one of the greatest songwriters ever...look him up on WIKI

  • cambridge, england i think. well i know thats where he grew up and met pink floyd there

  • Dude that would be amazing XD

  • I was at the Auckland show on this tour. Fucking amazing. Best concert ever. Peace

  • i love this song

  • I was at this show. Sitting dead center of the floor. The explosion and fireball was THE most significant production event and most mind-boggling subbass I have ever experienced. Awesome sound, amazing visuals and flawless performances. Thanks for bringing back the memory!

  • talk about spine tingling

  • Can't you see. It all makes perfect Sense. Expressed in dollars and cents, Pounds, shillings and pence........

    aaaahhhh!!! best ever !!!

  • fuckin love this song man

  • same with me i seen it at the acc in toronto and this song made me tear when i seen the amount of energy going in to it and how much it pumped up the crowd

  • HaengeRoeven - I could't agree more

    DENMARK LOVES YOU ROGER WATERS!!!

  • BEST EVER

    May the 4S B with U

    Samson

  • One of the few songs that is so powerful it actually moves me to tears. Roger, you are the best. Thank you for the amazing songs and lyrics over the years. PS. Can't wait to see you at the O2 on May 19th!

  • DENMARK LOVES YOU ROGER WATERS!

  • Amazing show

  • minnehempolis was in st.paul that night early july it was the nearest town

best $500 i ever spent still lovin ya bother

sister history is for fools !!

  • Awesome!!! and Great!

  • think that i saw this =)

i go a ticket like 3 days before the concert, in norway, freakin good concert

  • Roger... Loved the show in Omaha Nebraska !! I also seen you at Wembley Arena in London .

  • Actually Comfortably Numb is essentially two songs welded together. The Lyrics are by Roger as is the music for the verses, the chords sequence for the chorus was written by Gilmour when he was making his first solo album.

  • the whole of the floyd made the song comp numb , they all palyed there part in it by being the floyd , feeding off each others input to the band , roger is a top man , me and u will be having words if u dont make a public youtube appology to roger to the all the fans of all the floyd in ur next comment

  • I Love you Roger...pure class!

  • eu gosto de Roger waters

  • such a great song seen hime last years at skydome and the year before at the air canada center have some pic with some music in my profile somewhere

  • saw him at wembley arena

    it was incredible

amused to death definately up there in my top albums list

  • You missed the whole screen shot. fumbling around trying to keep Roger in the shot while you missed the whole movie going on in the back. I paid $250.00 for my 5th row and center tickets and some twerp held his F%#!#G cell phone in front of my face the whole nite.

  • Roger Walters vs Dave Gilmour is like Axl Rose vs Slash.. they need each other to bring out the totally awesome music, but individually they are both good, but one is slightly better than the other..

    Maybe? lol

  • I saw this concert in New Zealand, I.M.O was the best concert ever CHEERS from down under

  • I'm surprised how mild mannered the crowd is, I've been to every Roger concert in the Boston, Ma. area (5 since 1999), and when he performed Perfect Sense the place went into a frenzy.

Maybee you all were just Comfortably Numb ;-)

  • Australians are much more laid-back than Americans

  • Funny, I just posted a comment about this elsewhere. And I think RW is much affected by the crowd, he is a lot more into the song when ppl scream and sing along with him... Check videos of his concerts in latin america and you'll see (Rio, São Paulo, Argentina, Bogota, Santiago...). Cheers!

  • You are right dudu, he's an amazing showman I think, I love the way he performs his songs as well as sings and plays them. All these years doing something and still passionate about it, quite an achievement.

  • i totally agree. i've only been to one concert, and my boyfriend and i had really good seats. just his expressions make you really realize how much he appreciates his fans. it's a sensational feeling.

  • MODER VAS DAT A SPACE FUK

  • Is that the same lady singing live, as on the album ? Shes sounds just the same

  • Yes, it's PP Arnold.

  • The segue of the tv interview of the southafrican woman about her failed suicide attempt on "Three Wishes" is the most moving part IMHO.Roger Waters leaves no room for doubting his lyrical genuise and music sense.

  • bravo roger il n'y a que toi qui ecrit et compose de si belles melodies ,quel plaisir

  • Roger way of singing has much more soul than any song sung by any other floyd member. At least on his own songs which are almost every PF song since 1973

  • Yehh...

But you must admit Syd Barrett had a certain English twist to his that made it absurdly unique and really cool-beans-with-gravy.

  • Agree my friend. It's a pitty that Barrett was only present in one masterpiece of PF

  • SIR WOGER IS GOD (or is he pink?)It all makes perfest sense

  • Waters solo work is way better than any albu of PF without him. DSOTM was born from the brain of RW. The little sucess of Roger solo albums is because he isn't a commercial and video clip guy. His music talks for itself. Waters is pink floyd.

  • YOu are 100% correct! Roger Waters is Pink Floyd. He is the Rock Opera writer. Pink Floyd without him only writes songs of questionable value to his solo work. He is musical genious. He wrote the entire album The Wall on an air plane while the rest of the band was sleeping.

  • Absolutely agree. The ideas and concept of PF albums came from the mind of Waters
