Had this dish at a local Japanese sushi place. The chef brought one out for each of us. They were so damn good. Then he took the shrimp heads that we discarded and deep fried them then sprinkled some salt on. It was heavenly.

Eating live shrimp is kind unsanitary considering they do have parasites. I understand it's a delicacy, but I wouldn't try it and I've tried some really gross shit in my lifetime. Sashimi is fine b/c most parasites die in the process of raw fish being kept in the freezer before it's served to consumers

Just calm down because people over there have to eat what's available to them or what taste good to them.
