Omg you like the Titanic!! :D I love the titanic! I'm going on the Titanic Memorial Cruise in April 2012 :) it would be awesome if you were coming on it!!
But for safety and survival's sake, you may have to tell those a lie, that deserve one.
I think avoiding a heterosexual marriage and children if you can if your love is a lie, because chances are it will fail you and your family. If necessary, leave your hometown and those miserable religious or social expectations for you sanity's sake.
I'm not a homosexual, but this video was interesting compared to all the other purposely-feminine-acting gays with lisps...
Even if i was gay, my parents would not care..funny thing is, my mom once thought i was gay and had ''the talk'' but i clearly explained i wasn't.. but atleast i knew that if i was, she'd have no problem with it.
I can't relate to the teenage kids out there who are having a hard time out there..it's strange how most poeple make such a big deal overt it..
u look 17-18. and its very hard to do. and no matter what we gay people always think the worse which is bad, sometimes. and i think it would be harder as you get older to come out.
I came out in 1981 and it is my older brother that outed me. He did it because he always was jealous of me. I know it is because he was the baby for 5 years and then I came along. :) I was very lucky because my mom and dad had no problem accepting me. I am so happy that YouTube is there for you guys. Be proud of who you are and be the best you can be. I told my parent if they were not happy I would walk out and they would never see me again. They knew I meant it!
The beauty of this is it not only fulfills its purpose but encourages us to be proactive. What makes it so difficult is the current (and lasting) ideologies of LGBT in society.
You're doing a great job here Chris. Very honest and supportive. It's really encouraging that there are people like yourself willing to help with this process. Keep up the good work and all the best to you.
that's it, my next internet marketing product is gonna be called "coming out", look at how many views the "coming out" videos have gotten, I am gonna be rich bitch, peace !! :-)
At such a young age I can understand how you see that coming out is a positive. But as an older guy with friends who came out at a young age I saw that their choice impacted there career success in lost promotions or even denial of jobs. So please realize that in our society there is a price to pay for being out unless you're able to obtain success on your own. From a truly social perspective I would agree there are some positives but even then many will loose friends as I did.
Todd, perhaps you'll remember me. I really do not think this fellow young man will be denied a job or even lose a promotion because he is gay. Certainly I suppose it could be possible, but I do not think it is likely.
Losing friends over being gay does happen sometimes, but people my age at least are so much more understanding that straight people your age. It's absolutely true.
I suggest you look at my page and look at a video I favorited called "coming out speech (part 1).
It's not only possible, but it was reality. My x-BF for one couldn't get off 2nd shift to save his life. He watched as people passed him by year after year. The other was an x-BF as well. He couldn't even get a job. I was actually partially responsible for getting him his current job and he learned very quickly that others would pass him by and many times came home in tears.
The congress just passed a hate crimes bill. If being out was so easy we wouldn't need a bill to protect us.
If you watch that coming out video notice how supportive these people are of the young man. Notice how cool and confident the young man is. It's a truly awesome video.
Things are greatly changing. Things have already greatly changed.
I'm sorry your experiences have been not so great.
I'm not suggesting that there are not people that are both tolerant and accepting and that many people could care less. But there are some that care very much and believe it or not the African American community is very anti-gay. How 'bout the armed services "don't ask, don't tell". Or even the personals in my city where most will not even put a picture on their profile. Or the fact that Gay Marriage Amendments are being repealed in several states.
Chris - You remind me so much of my friend, Morty Manfor, who the president spoke about at the event in DC. It was Morty and his mother that were respondible for LGBT to ever exist. You give hope to many.
Dear coolkid, I like your vids but I cannot agree with you this time where you say that you consider courageous men who come out to their wives in the marriage. A gay man who marries a woman is either stupid or extremely selfish: he ought to think of the sorrow, pain and social consequences he will cause to his family with his marriage. Ciao.
often times these are masculine guys who either dont know that they cant change ( it only gets worse), or in denial they are gay cuz maybe they can still get it up for women & are butch guys. DONT get married, till u sort it out in ur head!
Excellent video...Unfortunately you cannot change your age after you have set it up in the beginning...You would have to create a brand new account, which I'm sure you wouldn't want to do...
One kid who came out to his parents was beaten up by his dad, and was so low that he tried to shoot himself. Luckily a friend stopped him and they got help. He moved in with foster parents. Two years on, he is 17, has a boyfriend, is working in a childrens' home, and wrote he is happier than he's ever been.
My point is, no matter how bad things may seem at a given time, it is not forever. Your life can turn round in a heartbeat, and suicide is never the answer!
anyone who has realized they are gay are brave, including you. I saw the same oprah show, The worst choice in ur coming out process, would be to get married to a person of opposite sex, hoping you will change. I did years of volunteer work on gay help line... those guys were the sadest cases, that i worried the most about. 1 LIFE
