@KryptoWolf the internet is fast when using a wifi network but on edge/3G is a bit slow

its a multi-touch screen so you can zoom in with two fingers or just by tapping the screen... there are some other browsers on the market i prefer Skyfire :D first i didn't like the phone but when i learned how to use it is was a verry good one :P

@angzybaybee the battery life isn't very long, you can download an app on the internet for msn(that app is free :) ) and you don't have to pay for it IF there is wireless internet and if there isn't well, you have to pay.

Can you play music in Galaxy3 while a voice call is on. No you cant.. But in Nokia smart mobile handsets, you can play music while you are on a voice call and let the person on other side listen the song you like and listening..

I bought galaxy3 few days back. I m happy to hav my first Android phone. But, as always, Samsung is very poor in terms of battery performance. In Galaxy3 battery strength is 1500 mAh, which is higher than the battery strength of Nokia 5800. But the talk time is much less in galaxy3 than that of Nokia 5800. Also battery of Nokia 5800 lasts longer with WIFI. The models and features of Samsung are obviously very good, but they are still lagging behind with battery performance. My money is gone.

@dheeraj997 I need not listen the video...I have the handset. I deal in mobile hand sets. I keep a dozen of brand in my shop. I have commented after using the set. My customers have also told me about the poor battery performance of Galaxy3. I dont know how many mobile handsets you have used. But I have to try the performance of at least a dozen handsets daily for the sake of my business. I never said the set bad in other segments.

@sanjoydebroy i dont deal in handsets but hav used quite a few handsets...n i know my gadgets well...and talking about dealers. when i went to buy samsung Galaxy S the dealer wouldn't let me buy Galasxy S, he ws saying that instead of that set buy sony xperia x10 as galaxy S' battery wont last a day..i still bought galaxy S and im happy with it..

and d fact dat u compared galaxy 3 with nokia 5800 is amusing.

nokia 5800 is not even a proper smartphone..battery life depends on how u use your phone

I tried all the above sets with 3G. I also listen music while at my shop. I use the sets for video call etc. etc. Amongst the above phones I found Galaxy 3 very poor in terms of battery strength. I never said Android is bad, I said battery of Samsung is poor. Good bye..

Have you ever compared the battery strength of Samsung with a Nokia? I deal in Mobile sets and I have to try mobile sets of various brand. I said, except battery life, everything in Galaxy3 is good. I think you are Samsung fan.. Dont go by the promo... Use the different handsets first and then comment. I do have dozens of handsets.

@latinojeet Im in the same boat as you. What I CAN tell you however is that the Wildfire has a 528MHz processor compared to 667MHz on the Galaxy. A friend of mine has the Wildfire and he says its good apart from being slow due to poor processing power. The wildfire's screen is only QVGA as opposed to WVGA.

The biggest advantage with the Wildfire are the inclusion of a light flash player + better camera.

The Samsung has better battery life and a better screen.

FYI, both have froyo 2.2 updates

Im a bot fed up with samsung after being a fan a long time. The last good phone i bought was samsung jet. some problems after 2 years ...sound disappeared & it kept deleting phone numbers. bought a galaxy spica (lower than galax 3) the other day and it SUCKS. I literally can't type SMSs even putting phone on its side so the letters are bigger. Touch screen is fair to poor. If I get a galaxy 3 or S man this BETTER be good!

the usb driver is playing badly, I can't connect my PC with my 5801 at all, I've tried different things nothing, Samsung is not offering a real usb driver for this phone, just Kies, wich is not really an usb driver, I'm using my Orange store data cable provided.

@mack339 I'm on linux and have no problems with the USB driver, really. Be sure to select IT from your PHONE that you WANT to install driver ! Otherwise it won't connect..:)

@mack339 Try it on a different pc.Some pc`s have a hard time staying connected to usb devices due to the pc not being able to supply enough amps to the usb ports.I`ve seen quite a few laptops like this and some desktop pc`s too.

If your not able to try a different pc then try a powered usb hub, but it HAS to have its own power supply.

I bought the i5800 yesterday and so far I am loving it! The android OS is amazing and the phone feels really good and sturdy. The screen resolution is a bit low but this is my 1st smart phone so it is much better than anything I have ever owned. Still trying to figure out everything though, it's so confusing!

Facing major problem with random call drops with Galaxy 3. I have tried two units and both have the same problem, in spite of perfect signal strength. Even changed to another SIM card. Looks like the model has a defect. Will need to return my 2 day old phone!

@ayahin Lolz,this is just a low range smartphone.Samsung is not foolish enough to say that they launch this phone to beat Iphone.you are making your own assumption. Samsung,Motorola,LG,Sony,htc all came out with Galaxy S,Milestone,Optimus Q,Vivaz,desire, respectively to challenge Iphone. Samsung Galaxy S seems the most promising due to its pwoerful processor and features like ebook reading,augmented reality browser.But this is simply not the phone to beat Iphone.just for smartphone beginners.
