@MineralGray02K Well I checked all of my connections and they're all tight. It's just me high beams and not my low beams. Did you use your original o-ring to secure the bulb into the headlight housing? I did, but the bulb still seems loose.
@The01MustangV6 I dont remember if the new bulbs had a new o-ring or if I re-used the o-ring. I doubt that would make them flicker though. Did you check the wires that actually go into the connectors? When I first installed mine, one of them was loose and the lights didn't power on right away. I had to tighten them first.
@MineralGray02K Yup, checked that and they were fine. I emailed the person who I bought the lights from and I guess I'll see what they say. Thanks though!
@MineralGray02K I got them to quit flickering. How many times have you been flashed? I've been flashed 3 times in a week compared to 3 times I was flashed in 5 months with my 10k single beam. They're aimed down, but I don't know why.
Hey man I have a question about your HIDs. I have an HID kit on my '01 and I'm having an issue with high and low beams (mine is a dual xenon kit) being opposite. When I select high at the steering lever, the lights go to low, and vice versa. Ever have that problem?
@drc1981 I had this problem too, you have to switch two of the wires in the actual plug that connects to the bulb. I dont remember what color the wires were but you can figure out by process of elimination. This fixes that annoying problem. Let me know how it goes.
@MineralGray02K Yea that's what I ended up doing the other day with a friend. We switched the two wires, black and red, going into the bulb, and now the beams won't even switch at all.
@MineralGray02K The left bulb will move upwards about an inch when I switch to high beams, so that one is at least moving in the right direction for high beams, but it seems like we're just screwed up the whole thing now. I can simply order two new bulbs of course, but I'm paranoid about doing those wires again because it might be the same result. Any ideas?
@MineralGray02K Thanks, I appreciate your help. I don't know if this helps or not, but me and my friend souldered (sp?) those wires when we switched them. I'm not an electrician at all, so I don't know if maybe that screwed it up more so than anything else. Just let me know what you find. Thanks.
@haedyr I have a set of 4300K in my fog lights now and love them. I need to get around to posting another video with them, maybe I'll do that tonight if I have time.
The kit worked out great. The install takes about 45 minutes, and is real easy. Check out the link in the description, there's a guy on that site that sells these kits
im going to get some, but should i get single beam (low) or dual beam (low and high). there is only a $80.00 diff. and if i get dual beam do i have to do anything to my lights, like cut or drill them.
I would get the single beam, you really don't need the dual beam. You won't need to cut or drill either way (unless it's for a ground or to mount the boxes)
nice lights! why dont u go for hids on ur fog lights? i really dont like the white color on the headlights while looking at the stock fog fog lights! but still look very nice!
well, maybe with 3000k on the fogs, but with halogen its like u forgot to do something to them or maybe some yellow halogen, i really dont like yellow but its better than the stock orange/yellow
I don't see why there would be. I didn't have any problems, and I've never heard of anybody else w/ a Mustang or other HID's having a problem in the winter.
do these lights look like those on lexus and beemers? thats the look that i am going for and i dont know what temp to pick because dont know anyone with them. some say get 6000k and some say 9000k, what color temp is best for the fancy car look?
If you were to get HID to put on regular housing don't. They are crap. like Steveill said oem projectors are the best just do a retro on your headlights with real projectors and d2s bulbs, not cheap ebay ones. the cutoff shields will give you the look of beemers and such. plus if these people knew that the higher the kelvin temp the lower light output they have. Direct HID bulbs on oem housings should have shields (like the ones lincoln uses) so that they don't blind oncoming traffic.
It's all personal preference. There is no 'best' color, it's all whatever you like. I didn't want them to be too blue or too blinding, so I went w/ 4300K. Believe it or not it actually looks more blue on this video then they really are...but they are definitely blue. It has the nice new luxury car look, but obviously not quite as much. All and all I'm very happy w/ them.
@pmurillo87 I have a set of 4100k silverstar ultras in my 94 gt....they were 50 bucks at advanced auto and are direct replacement for the stock bulbs. they're plenty bright enough...very white looking and you can see much much better...ecspecially with my new ultra clear headlights/corners. it may not look just like a "fancy car" or whatever but it definately looks good and it's obvious it isn't stock...looks great...I left the fog lights out of my cobra bumper to get direct air to my CAI k&n
hey.. broo... supp.. 2000 mustang... i got a pair.. of projector jus today..i got frm ebay.. everything seems cool.... put like i find an extra set of wires on da lights nd i cant figure out were dose tht connent... n stuff..
The glare isn't that bad, I've had comments on the alignment as well. It is definitely blinding to on comers though, but i don't plan on pointing them down anytime. I will make another video of me driving
what ebay user did you go through? I got a fox and am looking to put 6000k or 8000k. does the kit matter? Like are bulbs interchangeable with diff temp/colors?

the best color temp is 10000k

Sorry but no. OEM is nothing above 4700K. That bluish color you see is from the cutoff shield. Not from a crappy 8000K capsule.
steveill123 4 years ago
8000k is fancy and bright, it's also legal too unlike the 10,000k which is illegal in most state.
