Hi,in your comments i see a few people asking for tabs of your great version for deerhunter. Do you sell them and if so can i buy them thanks and all the best.slowfingers100 (LEN)
hi mike great lesson well played, look forward to more shadqws tunes I would like to get your tabs so as to play along with your video thanks for your time jeta477
@engine132able Yeah, bruce is a very underated guitarist sadly.
Easy piece.... It is & it isn't... I's one of those pieces that seems very easy on paper... makes a good study piece for a beginner in lead guitar. However it's it's simplicity that makes it more difficult than first imagined.
You need the lightest of touches on the whammy bar, perfectly in tune bends and a delicate touch on the volume pedal. Get any of that wrong and it will stand out a mile. No room for duff notes!
@Ballonrosso The zoom units are nice little units. I might get one for when I need access to some sounds. I had a Boss GT-10 which I used for this which was great. Sadly, it's been sold to fund a new amp.
@trigmachine If I had to choose then i'd probably go for the classical version, but I have to say, I do like them both a lot. I think Hank keeps the feel. I've not heard any 'shred' versions... Not fast as that just wouldn't be workable... But someone who's piled on the distortion. I'm sure there'll be one on Y'tube. Jeff Beck would do a cracking version too, I expect.
well done mate on a brilliant tutorial and i couldnt agree more about the use of the tremolo arm so many hank fans go over board using it like you said
cheers for this mate i tried to do a tutorial but im crap at it. i play cavatina just like you showed and i just need the volume pedal now
if im ok to say though your top E string sounded a bit out of tune.
You could be right about the top E string. The Yamahas trem system isn't the best and goes out of tune fairly quickly even with just Hank style use. My Fender Strat works well but i've blocked that off as I never use the trem normally except for Shadows stuff.
Hi this is an excellent version of the song, is there any chance of getting the tab because its slightly to difficult to see the notes correctly, thanks in advance, Pat
I agree. Doesn't matter if it's The Shadows version, John Williams' Deer Hunter Version or the Original Stanley Myers Version. Always makes you think.
@fiestared1963 Hi Derek, thanks for commenting! been glued to the World Cup... Will dig out the GT-10 tommorrow (Friday) and post the settings. Send me a message if I forget.
Well done Mike, you have the Marvin touch.

Hey Mike,
Thx for your reaction, in the last part of your video you play a little bit of the "FAST "stuff.
I think you like Paul Gilbert also ( seen him 2 weeks ago live on stage in Zoetermeer The Netherlands).
If you like him, this would be a great amp for you.
Ibanez Paul Gilbert AF2 Airplane Flanger.
good luck!
P.s.
can you play more songs of the Shadows?
Ballonrosso 1 year ago
@Ballonrosso I can play a couple of other shadows songs. I'll maybe do lessons on them in the future.
MikeGarveyBlues 1 year ago
Great lesson Mike!! i've just bought a dutch brand guitar the London City Spitfire MK 2
Its a clone of the fender strat but mutch cheaper and it almost plays and sounds like the fender.
i'm now trying to play this song for the shadows sound i use a Zoom 505 multi effect. the shadows patch dit i found on the net.
Thanks again for this graet video!
