Its not easy to keep cool when rhodas get agressive so i think its normal for that to happen, but after the 3rd minute, the rhoda gets under control while still agressive and in my opinion that is capoeira at its finnest. You have to break some eggs to learn how to make an ommelet.

OK, some parts of it were pretty ugly, but for the most part, bringing a little aggressive grappling into it is OK with me. If you can't take a hit and roll with it, then you've reduced a martial art to mere dancing, however athletic. And the distance does need to be such that it's at least possible to land a hit, not like 9 feet away.

Guys relax, for one capoeira is an interesting and unique style that emphasizes misdirection and confusion. However against a grappler it has a disadvantage due to its low center of gravity. The problem with your arguments are that you are losing sight of the facts.
I've trained in Capoeira for 3 years and I spar my friends who come from a variety of other martial arts (Kempo w/Drunken fist,Tae-Kwon-Do,Ju-jitsu,Muay Thai,Ninjitsu,MMA). We always show respect to eachother since we know what each respective style teaches...the methods are different but the end result is the same; learning how to better yourself physically as well as learning how to fight. A punch is still a punch and a kick is still a kick at the end of the day right? Respect to all fighters.

OK, some parts of it were pretty ugly, but for the most part, bringing a little aggressive grappling into it is OK with me. If you can't take a hit and roll with it, then you've reduced a martial art to mere dancing, however athletic. And the distance does need to be such that it's at least possible to land a hit, not like 9 feet away.

I've trained in Capoeira for 3 years and I spar my friends who come from a variety of other martial arts (Kempo w/Drunken fist,Tae-Kwon-Do,Ju-jitsu,Muay Thai,Ninjitsu,MMA). We always show respect to eachother since we know what each respective style teaches...the methods are different but the end result is the same; learning how to better yourself physically as well as learning how to fight. A punch is still a punch and a kick is still a kick at the end of the day right? Respect to all fighters.
