  • i miss mid south/uwf before wcw stepped in and ass rapped it!

  • To my generation and older who can relate to real 100% professional wrestling(those who grew up in the 1970's and 1980's):NWA(Mid-Atlantic,Mid-South,World Class,Central States,Georgia and Florida territories,Southwest Championship, and WCW/NWO; as well as the AWA and the Vince McMahon Sr.(RIP/we miss you)WWWF was the real deal of what professional wrestling was, and what it supposed to be; not this WWE crap. This should not be considered wrestling or entertainment; but SOAP network material!

  • @obaeng Well said. You're 100% spot on. Thanks.

  • Great territory. Too bad Bill Watts was such an asshole as a person.

  • Bret "Hitman" Hart in the UWF? Is this Barry Horowitz?

  • Awesome. Old school wrestling.

  • UWF/Mid-South was great!! We used to go see their shows at the armory @ Ft Polk, La. I remember so little from back then aside from my bicycle and UWF tv and house shows...they had such a well of talent...Williams and DiBiase? One Man Gang before he was a joke? Savannah Jack...UWF con safos!!

  • Power Pro Wrestling is the greatest southern promotion ever!

  • Back when wrestling was still territorial, you had to read the magazines to keep up cuz this was before cable.

  • we have power pro wrestling where I am from

  • what the fuck is power pro wrestling????

  • youi should do your homework

  • well fill me in then!!

  • It was a show made by Mid-South and then UWF. It was their "B" show, but it was a mix of house show matches, videos and personality profiles, classic matches, matches at the TV tapings that didn't air, and highlights/recaps from the main show. Jim Ross was the host and Joel Watts produced it. It was a cool show as you never new what you could see from week to week and a lot of it was very cool.

In late 86 or early 87, the format changed to one more like the main show.

  • oh,shit i want 2 see this old stuff the shit now blows!!!!

  • Universal Wrestling Archives has a site online that sells this stuff. They have the Mid-South, UWF, and Power Pro shows, plus house shows and a few other things for sale on their site.

Click on the Universal Wrestling channel on the upper right of this page for more info. I've bought a number of them myself. They are great stuff. This is the best of all the old school wrestling IMO. If you are in to wrestling, this is the stuff to get.

  • Power Pro Wrestling was one of the shows that Mid-South Wrestling/The Universal Wrestling Federation ran on it's syndication network. One of hte best wrestling shows from the 1980's.

  • yea i have been told that before..but its funny i have seen all wrestling shows but this one..i even remember the awf and the gwf..but never this show!!!

  • You missed out

  • @chrisz31974 i have some uwf shit i found a old vhs tape with some matches on it from 1987 when they were with the nwa..i remember now!!!

  • @SWO4LIFE I stand corrected! That was some great stuff back then. I remember in Chicago we were getting like 6 or 7 promotions on our cable system it was the BEST!!

  • @chrisz31974 yea chicago had tons of wrestling on cable...wwf-nwa-awa-uwf-wccw-glow-wcpw-and i forget the last one?

  • @SWO4LIFE Damn dude, at one point we started even getting California Championship Wrestling. It was ridiculous! I wish it was still like that. In the early 90s, we got WCW, WWF and started getting Smoky Mountain and USWA it was sweet as hell

  • @chrisz31974 yea no shit..what the fuck happend 2 wrestling? oh wait vince killed it!

  • @SWO4LIFE and you know what, I'd be willing to bet he regrets it because even though I think they have some awesome talent, they really do, it's just not the same as it was in the 80s and 90s, where you had new guys coming in that wanted to be wrestlers so bad and they had such a passion for it. now you have ham and eggers like Lashley that could give a crap about wrestling and probably don't even know who Nick Bockwinkel is.

  • @chrisz31974 nope.vince dont care at all look at the shit shows he puts on. he dont care.look at tna they have hogan and no one gives a shit about tna..wrestling blows now and i wish the late 90s would come back in style

  • If there hadn't been a huge drop in the price of crude oil, the UWF would have kept growing into more markets. As it was when the price of oil collapsed, most of the cities that the UWF ran shows in the attendence dropped like a rock. Cowboy Bill Watts had little choice but to sell the UWF to Jim Crockett, Jr. Unfortunately, Jim Crockett, Jr. merged the UWF into the NWA, let most of the wrestlers go and got rid of the UWF Championships.
