  • why the fuck does beast and psylocke appear at the ending ???

were they supposed to be DLC ?? LOL

  • @pelutudo

im pretty sure psylocke was just thrown in for sex appeal lol

and as for beast, no idea...

  • @MysteryMan2K6 Beast for.... Beast appeal?

  • imagine if you were playing this, and you were on the mojo level. Somehow there was a glitch so you reset your console and went to the mojo level and it said computer reset and you were like huh? XD

  • RIP Macho Man

  • how have you record you playing it?

  • this game is beter then the 2nd.

  • hey, i have destroyed the last computer but level doesn't finish! Why?

  • @ElfWhisper Still not worked it out? Press the reset button on the console. If you're emulating then I'm not sure if you can get any further. You could try the reset command in the menu. If you're using a Sega NOMAD then you're screwed.

  • i remember a level where you were on some sort of time limit.. similar to the Sonic hedgehog 2 level where the water is rising and you gotta race it. I could never beat it!

  • Nightcrawler got shafted in that last team picture

  • Well done your a pro.

  • I hated this level

  • shit u good dude. but man im playing this on my iphone4 wth gens emulator how the hell do i reset haha gues im gona have 2 game genie code it with a lvl select code 2 magneto. this is the hardest game ever i never clocked it in my child hood. so i came back 2 it now but have been using cheats cuz ill rage quit :O !

  • the worst part is, when you play this on an emulator, how the hell do you "reset the sega genesis"? so I now cannot beat this game...some help?

  • @dalecampbl5

There's two methods: software resetting and hardware resetting -- the latter of which simply resets your Mega Drive/Genesis back to the beginning of the game in the case of "X-Men".

  • @VikutaaChyaaruzu i'm playing this on a COMPUTER...like MAME, what't the equivalent of a software resetting?

  • @dalecampbl5

In your case, one key is the Software Reset key (which will reboot the computer in the game). Push it lightly and it'll send the game a message telling it to reboot the in-game computer.

  • Somebody has to take that binary code to a translator and see what it does. o_o

  • magneto's theme is godlike.

  • how hard was this game .... it came with a map

  • wait wait wait, you literally had to press the RESET button!!!! OMG, we were kids back then, how the hell are we supposed to know that. I remember that i just used the stage select cheat to advance to the next level, lol

  • @ 4:21 i know it's just a game but psylocke's ass looks GRRRRREAT!!!!!

  • OMFG now its so obvious, system reset... How could a kid not get that?

  • The "reset the computer" puzzle was pretty damn innovative. I can't think of any other game that was that clever.

  • Metal Gear Solid required to put your controller on the 2nd player port to beat Psycho Mantis preventing him to "read your mind".

Machinarium has a puzzle you need to LOSE to go on. If you give the wrong answers, the machine you are facing goes nuts and collapse letting you pass.

Actually there are a lot of clever games.

  • @Shendue i still have this game and still have the included poster, one of my favorite games of all time dude

  • @slasher445: Yeah, i'm not denying that. X-Men is a f'ing damn great game.

  • @Shendue Now they did have a sequal to this game but not as good as the original, I also did manage to complete spiderman xmen Arcade's revenge even after the critizism that it was too damn Difficult, in my opinion it's an awesome game i think it was underatted,

  • noobs use nightcrawler

  • @davstec3 seriously dude!? c'mon. some people may use him because they like him.

  • @CGM5 hes a beginner character

  • Comment removed

  • How the fuck was I supposed to know that I had to reset the Genesis?

  • I found out I had to reset by resetting out of frustration. Lucky me!

  • @valedictwhoreian Me too, I thought I screwed up so I reset to try again.... and shat bricks.

  • Yeah, the level where Mojo is frustrated me the hell out. You have to reset with the game going nowhere and there was a timer? Bullshit! I pressed reset because hell I'm going nowhere and BAM! I'm on the next level. Shit, talk about one of the worst gaming designs EVER.

(Yeah I finished it eventually. Reppin' Nightcrawler!)

  • man this game was no joke.. freaking impossible

  • i never beat this game either

  • nice, never did finish this game...

  • Man its a shame they don't have something like this on games today; the idea of resetting your game console to advance the game is DEFINATELY something unheard of in modern gaming today...

  • is this ever gonna come out for ps3?!

  • @macauleymcCulkin

I doubt it. It's more likely to come out on Wii Virtual Console, but even that is pretty unlikely because it's a licensed property.

  • As a kid I played this game all the time and never realize I had to press the reset button on the console its self..I remember countless times searching for that damn thing in the level..The internet wasnt common back then and I never got strategy guides...About 3 years ago I finally found out the secret...My hats off to the players that figured it out with out help..

  • @EternalREWIND Funny, I got tired of tring to find that blood switch, and said F*** THIS!! and hit the reset button. lol. I was like HOLY S*** DID I JUST F*** UP THE GAME!!! When I saw the binary 1's and 0's.

  • @FIBackRoom haha thats crazy man..I didn't have the hart to reset it after getting so far in the game

  • I rented this game 16 years ago & only managed to get to Magneto, impossible like hell for me to beat him back then.. after watching this video I never know it was that easy to beat him with Nightcrawler.

  • i think this was the farthest i ever got in this game but due to the last boss i think most of my guys were already dead so i died haha

  • dude if this is for sega, you got a hand full of cheats xD, I rmeber the gambit tele well.

  • One of the few good X-Men games. This is far superior to the crummy SNES version that makes you do stupid Street Fighter combos to pull of their mutant powers.

  • Damn I'm 20 years old now & all i had to do was hit that damn reset button. Me & my brother gave up on this game when we got that far and failed but after all its a great game and I still have it. I'll be playing it soon lol

  • @sumalumah lol memories :)

  • whatever! im playing this game right now... I destroyed the stupid hologram computer thing on mojo's crunch and nothin happens... the screen turns red it says reset the computer now then i fuckin blow up. I have had this game since i was like 8 and im 24 now and i still haven't got past this level!

  • furthest i've made it was the fat bitch :(

  • i remember fighting that fat alien shitface in the game and i never beat him. i didnt know what to do.

  • U best bet was to be nightcrawler, teleport behind him and attack him from behind then jump back on one of the pews

  • Clone Wars was easily alot better overall, but this was still a kickass game IMO. I guess it's an acquired taste. I mean sure, there's a few things I hate about the game (the limit for mutant powers especially, and on Wolvie's claws too? Wtf?), but I still love this and Clone Wars the same.

I never even got remotely close to beating either of them though lol.

  • Psylocke! I wish they were all playable, but adding her would've been great, and make Jean a choice in the bottom row for when you want to go to higher places faster and safely.

  • when i was younger thats the only X-Men character i wanted to play with was Psylocke, it pissed me off that they would show her, Iceman, Angel, Rogue and Storm and not let u play as them but in all still a classic game from my childhood

  • After ALL this time! I never knew how to beat that board!!! You just hit the stupid hologram and RESET the sega!!! lol!!! WOW who woulda thought? I just gave my brother the biggest high five ever lol!

  • Yeah. It takes a leap a faith to reach the end of this game.

  • lol

  • the fight with magneto music is so fuck epic

  • Wow...I was never able to beat the 3rd level lol...

  • It took a whole summer to beat this game...back in 94, I think it was. I just bought it again through Amazon....and now I cannot seem to beat Magneto.

  • magneto's boss music=best boss music ever

  • ....uh, yeah about my previous comment...

I retract. =) NOW I CAN FINALLY BEAT THIS GAME!! WOOT!

  • I've come to understand that after 10 years of owning this game that once you get to the end of Mojo's level you have to reset the Sega.

That's all good, but how come whenever I hit the stupid hologram at the end and reset my Sega and takes me back to the title instead of that green screen, does anyone know why?

  • This game was one of my favorite Genesis games but I gotta admit that it was hard as hell.

  • I nearly threw the cartridge out of the window trying to figure out the mojo level-reset thing...UGH

  • in a fit of anger, I reset my genesis with only seconds to spare. It had been the 3rd time my brother and I had gotten to that point, then the screen filled with all of this green shit. happiest day ever!

  • I got to 4:03 and could not get any farther. It would be until the internet when I would discover the silly "reset your genesis" trick :(

  • I could never beat Mojo.

But then again I was only about 8-9 years old.

  • dont feel bad i could never get past apocalypse

  • Apocalypse was tough though, I would play as Nightcrawler and when he would come to hit me just press 'A' (special) and it would hurt him. I could beat Mojo, just didnt know where to go after beating him, and then I'd endup dying.

  • I beat this game without a single character switch. A lot of the stuff in this walkthrough is done really wrecklessly.

  • shut up.

  • If the game had Psylocke in the storyboard before Magneto's Fortress and in the ending, I wonder why they didn't put her in the game as playable or as a supporting character like Rogue, Archangel, Iceman and Storm or in some kind of relation to the last level?

  • I didn't realize how easy the "future" level is for Nightcrawler.

  • Games back then are greater than today's games.

X men 1 and X men 2 for Genesis are some of the best games i have ever played.

Today's games are too complicated and take beyond 10 hours to finish that you need memory cards and shyt....it starts to feel like work, instead of fun play.

  • games wouldn't be very entertaining if they were SOO EASY.like ppl make em to others NOT beat it in 1 sitting, cuz they complete it,and thats it.there's nothing new

  • i remember i had a nightmare once cuz of the mojo level when i was like 5 haha

  • OMG! Me too! The sound, the setting, the monsters, and the fact that I couldn't beat it gave me nightmares... :(

  • i had a dream about the music from the mojo level as well - it was ...weird, but the setting of the dream was not from the x-men game, it was a diff environment ..weirdness

  • @Maldonado136 Brutal!!!

  • This was an amazing game. Today, after 15 years I was able to beat it :)

  • I remeber too never figuring out how to get to the last level. I remember playing this game for years and years, and getting pissed off because i never knew about the reset button, i only figured it out like back in 2003 i think, threw a friend who once played it. lol...

  • .......

    WELCOME TO DIE!

    8D

  • lol i remember wen i wuz lil... like 5-8 and i could barely pass the space level.. :) so much fun :)

  • How i found out about the Reset thing was i was Mad because i did not know whare to go i did not feel like shutting down the system i would go back and see if i missed something and when i hit the Reset i Just Looked at the Screen.

That was Cool though when u Reset.

  • I would always get to the last level, but couldnt beat it, there was too much shit to get through I could never make it to Magneto without dying.

  • I remember back in the summer of '93 me trying to beat this game. Could never pass the Mojo level it was so frustrating, I would stay up till 2am in those sweaty nights lol. This bring so much memories and finally have closure lol.

  • @ayala6486 you're not alone. Me & my boys would be up til 3 in da morning taking turns trying to beat it and it never happened then we all just stopped playing it. but we had some good times playing that game brings back a lot of memories just watching this makes me feel old LOL

  • a lot better than these shitty games that r coming out lately

  • He has Indigo colored hair!! Awesome! lol

  • I was just frustrated and in my frustration I hit reset instead of the power button to turn it off next thing I know BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP and I sat there for like 5 minutes until I finally came to my senses....

  • Great job, that's a really hard game.

  • u did really well, i'll try to make one too

  • For some reason, I was scared of this stage and the music when I was a kid.

  • i have a question, i bought an xmen game because i lost the other one, i realized there were 2 versions, which version is the one with level one is when you are in the snow?

  • that's x-men 2: clone wars

  • Comment removed

  • reset the sega?? that's why i never finished it and i trade it with Mazin Wars!

  • hard game but amazing.. played for so many hours.. never knew about the reset thing lol

  • YOU HAVE TO RESET SEGA?! dude, i hated this game because of this level how the f is a fourth grader suppose to figure that out?

  • @jsen33 by accendent?

  • @jsen33 me too hahaha but now when i look backj at it it was clever, the only reason why i figured it out was i got so mad i was gonna cut it off but instead pressed reset. saw a whole bunch of numbers and was like wtf?

  • @jsen33 I never got anywhere past that level for that very reason, I wanted to play asteroid M so badly.

  • @jsen33 SAY THAT AGAIN!!

  • @jsen33 yeah it took me forever to figure that part out lol

  • on the mojo level it was clever to have to reset the game.. kudos to that shit 5/5 easily for that alone

  • Never got to the next level cause I never knew how to "RESET THE COMPUTER" for the stage. Years later I found out when I picked up a tips&tricks magazine they had the way to solve that by resting the genesis I was pissed when i found that out

  • I actually think the story for this game was halfway decent.

  • @ 4:00 you need to reset the console. i never tought that and died lots of times.

  • wheres part 1 i cant see it

  • yeh but hes the sprinkles on a shit sundae. This is game is to hard and fuckin annoying

  • Hah, Nightcrawler rules in this game!

  • I HATED the mojo level. I couldnt beat it

  • That's because your suppose to press the RESET button at the end of the map to get to the next level.

  • Hey about the dripping water part...do you HAVE to take damage? The only thing I can think of is to jump and iceman so you can go under or something.

  • @ 10:22 nice lookin fat booty alert!

  • is there some kind of design in the zeros and ones when you reset the game? i've been trying to figure that out

  • Nightcrawler kicks ass on Magneto's level!

  • I can easily beat Magneto without getting hit once.

  • Man, it took me about 3 weeks to finally get to face Magneto, and another 8 months just to beat him. I was flyin' high like I did something special, and *THEN* they come out with the cheat code...

  • at the level 5 the one with the big fat boss, wat did u press to reset the system can tell me how, i destroy the windows thing but nothing happen...pls help me!!!

  • Ah yes, the good old Mojo level Genesis reset. I figered it out completely by accident. I was forever stuck at that one part of the game, and at one point said "screw it" and just hit the reset button on my console... lo and behold, it worked! Gave me a bit of a scare at first though... I thought my faithful ol' genesis had finally kicked the bucket.

  • dude thats exactly what happened to me and my brother!

  • I never figured that out! I didn't learn that until after my genesis kicked the bucket. This is the first time I've ever seen the end of this game. I used to love this game but hate that stupid reset thing.

  • Sorry for the repeated posts, I thought these were direct replies...

  • To beat that mojo level you have to reset the game after that computer bx comes up. You have to actually get up, press the reset button on the genesis, and the matrix effect will come up. Could you imagine a 9 yr old having to take that chance or FIGURING THAT OUT for that matter. Anywho, I found out while watching gamepro tv--back when it came on. The first time I was too scared to try it, the second time I did. And that's the story of the first, and only, time I got to the last level.

  • OMG, I couldn't beat this game, but it was so awesome. Also, music makes or breaks a game and this audio hit the nail on the head.

  • man I love this game but it too damn hard -_-

  • dude when i was little i got this for my birthday...

funny how i couldnt get past the 1st level but i beat ff7 with no prob...

  • OH i'm pissssssed. I had this game and loved it. but whenever i beat Mojo and went right up to the end and smashed that screen like Nightcrawler does...i never got a Matrix thingy. the game just kept on going and the level would just self destruct. WTF.

  • I hear ya bud, same thing happend to me every time

  • You have to RESET the game on the genesis. Isn't that crazy!!!! The game is so hard that you have to actually reset it to beat that mojo level. Who would ever think of that!?! I found out when watching GamePro TV a long time ago and I remembered overhearing that I had to do that. So, there's your answer.

  • Shit u guys are better than me...here i am 13.5 yrs later and JUST now being enlightened on how to beat the mojo level.... I woul NEVER have guessed that pushing reset would be the key....

kudos to sega for that unique twist.

  • PSYLOCKES ASS at 4.21

  • Your shameful.

  • the music in this game rules

  • Could never go through the last level without using Nightcrawler to shortcut like you did in the vid.

  • i could NEVER beat this level

  • Gosh... I remember renting this game from Blockbuster...and i was only 5 years old! lol

  • man this does bring back memories...it was a good game... loved it... : )

  • that damn reset thing drove me nuts for months

  • man this brings back so many memories..

  • I like X-men 2 Clone Wars better, but I think some of the music in the first game is better.

  • magneto wasnt the final level was he?

  • Man is there a way to pass Mojo stage in the emulator?

If I reset, the game gets reseted.....

  • I'm actually surprised at how good the ending to the game was. I was expecting a short cutscene, maybe with a few lines of dialogue between Xavier and the X-Men, then the credits... I wasn't expecting some long, well written thing, lol. Further proof of how cool this game is, I suppose.

  • good shit played it'd once but did beat it cause we rented it back then. should have been a two player game and had more playable characters. i hope playstation 2 remakes this game over the same way but more music, longer game play, all x-men characters, it can still be a side stroller game but better thats all. anybody agree or disagree. let me know.

  • Absolutely agree, a climax between the x-men and acolytes would be awesome!

  • this game was 2 players.

  • man i never did get past the mojo stage, i beat him and everything, but for some reason got stuck...hmm

  • you might kick yourself in the shin for this, but you had to 'reset the computer' when xavier told you.....

reseting the computer meant reseting the sega genesis...

  • Where did you find an emulator that understands soft resets?

  • I was playing on my sega genesis system, recorded via my dvd recorder.

  • Dang... :(

  • the emulator called "Kega" has a soft reset option that works with this game. i've tried it myself.

  • hey how did u record this with such good quality?

  • i thought magneto was unbeatable. good teleportation tricks, though.

  • How can i end this game?

    Last level.

  • my heart was racing when i finally beat this when i was like 8 or so.very cool

  • i never got past this level

  • WOW!!!!! I was always stuck at this level i had this when i was 5 or 6

  • OMG I havent seen this since I was 6 or 7

  • shit i wish i still own this for sega because if you have a sega emnulator and play this and the reset part of the game happens your screwed because the emulator WILL RESET THE GAME
