The added musicians were the shows resident house band "JOOLS HOLLAND AND HIS RYTHMN AND BLUES ORCHESTRA" a great band which you should check out...they have played with so many great artists over the years.
How wrong is that! Caffey played an exellent part in their song writing process but I think just about anyone could have covered her guitar, to move Kathy from bass and have someone cover her instead is just wrong on so many levels, she's one of the best bassists I've heard but Charlotte is just an average guitarist in my opinion, yes I know Kathy doesn't play bass with the Bluebonnets or indeed on her own album 'Light years' but I still think it's all wrong lol. Only an (my) opinion though.
I had never heard of the Go-Go's. I spent YEARS online looking for a Pat Benatar song called "Honestly Feel", thinking it was she who sang it and that those were the lyrics! (I mishear lyrics all the time. It's sort of a hobby with me. lol)
Where is Kathy Valentine? There is a woman on the left who looks like her, but she is playing a guitar rather than the bass. I'm sure Vicki covered for Charlotte
That is KV playing guitar, Vicki was not in the UK when this was recorded, she joined the Go-Go's midway through the promotional tour to cover for a pregnant Charlotte Caffey.
Thanks for clearing that up! While it did appear to be Kathy, I guess it threw me off because she was playing a Fender Stratocaster. Ms. Valentine usually plays very large scale basses (one of the things I love about her) and it just didn't look right with her holding a dinky little guitar! I love this video.
@Mattleycrue66 Just to clear, there is nothing like a "very large scale bass", maybe you wanted to say " a big guitar" or similar. Basses tend to be constructed either on the short scale (30 inches), traditional scale (34 inches) and other larger scales. Kathy always played traditional scale basses, but here, playing a guitar, the size of the instrument she plays is in contrast to the size of the traditional scale bass.
WOW, Belinda looks AWESOME...... better than alot of 23 year old I've seen

I remember this airing originally. Didn't Belinda give the superfan her underwear as a prize?
Chris Evans clearly didn't know he was treading on toes forgetting the other Go Gos

No problem, I was stood about 20 feet away from the band when they played this. You can see on the guitar strap the initials KV if you look closely.

Wow, I have been listening to this song since the day it came out and this is one of the best versions I have ever heard.

My sister thought it was "There's a weapon that we must use--an octopus!" And my friend Dan thought the name of the song was "Alex the Seal". LOL

I like the horns on this.
Always, my fave part is Jane singing her part.
Thanks.
