  • At 4mins 11secs, the poster says that what is being displayed is the "input voltage" of the "power supply"... this is incorrect! What is actually being shown is the "peak voltage" of the pack that is currently being charged or the pack that was most recently charged. (Meaning that this is the highest voltage of the pack that was measured at any point during the charging process of that pack, usually reaching it's highest near the end of a charging cycle... near the battery reaching full).

  • @Scoalabro You're incorrect. The 7.18 voltage that is shown first around 4:11 is the "Surface Voltage" of the pack. Basically the voltage without a load on the pack. The 15.82 IS the output voltage of the power supply to the charger itself. Unless something is very wrong you would never see a 6-cell pack reading 15.82v, more than DOUBLE the rated voltage of the pack.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Ok then, @4:12 - Directly from the manual(found @ dynamiteDOTcom/ProdInfo/Files/DYN4068-Manual.pdf):

Note: The peak voltage will represent

the maximum battery voltage during the

charge cycle. The peak voltage will be

available for viewing during and after the

    charge period is complete.

If this is not the case *in this video, then it must be something that has changed since this video was made as they now indicate exactly what the manual says.

  • @xWRxJokerx I would still recommend an external balancer, such as the one from Losi.

  • i just bought an electric boost and i have the default 18000 battery and i was thinking of getting another but this might be a nice purchase instead cause i never know how far along the charge is! which charger would i need to buy? PLZ RESPOND

  • @shaytardsisthebest These would absolutely be a nice upgrade from the stock Electrix Charger. The only one what will tell you the charge time however would be the Ultra since it is the only one with an LCD Display.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom ok, thanks so much for the respond i believe this is going to be my next upgrade to my buggy! can't wait!

  • I have the Vision LED and I would like to move to LiPo will I need to get the ultra now?

  • @TheJS412 That is correct

  • how many amps should i use to charge a 4200 mah battery?

  • @brianak123456 LiPo or NiMh?

  • @brianak123456 4.2-to 5-amps would be just fine for this. I would keep an eye on the pack the first few charges to make sure that it doesn't get too hot. If it's getting too hot back the charge rate down.

  • so if i had a 5000 mah battery i would set the charge for 5 amps?

  • @barto249 Correct

  • I am thinking of getting one of these chargers because i just got a new 5100 nimh battery and found out that my current charger can't charge it! Is this charger worth the money?

  • How long does it take for the lcd charger to charge a nimh battery?

  • @Bedley67150 It all depends on the capacity of the NiMH.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom I have got a 5100 battery how long would that take?

  • @Bedley67150 Depending on the charge rate I'd say between 45-50 minutes

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thanks

  • @Bedley67150 How long would the battery last for???

  • i have a charger that says it charges 4-7 cells. and im planning on to buy an 8 cell battery, and i wanna know if my charger can charge an 8 cell?

  • @RAMPAGE168 Unfortunately no. If your charger is only rated for up-to 7-cells then it would not work with your 8-cell battery.

  • No built in balancer = total fail Dynamite. No sale for you.

  • All of the bottom comments are right that new team orion advantage charger is $130, its a re-packaged thunder Ac-6!!!! The AC6 is like $60, horizon is a really good company, but they need to get their act together, the air side of the market is good in my opinion, but pro boat IS lacking, i mean, they need to get away from that steerable drive thing, i talked to someone who works FOR proboat and he said that system sucks, they need to revolutionize, make a mini hydro brushless with 2.4 and allu

  • A new charger today without balancing built in, Fails. Try again Dynomite. Go look at the ac6 $55 ac/dc

  • @MaxxPainII i totally agree fails in my book to.

  • What can you get that is user friendly, but also racer-type and lipo ready, with a built-in balancer? I have an Onyx 230 and a balancer on the side, but I'm not sure what I would get if I was going to upgrade. I do NOT want to carry a separate power supply though!

  • @madeinquebec i have a dynamite passport ultra its good for every kinda battery and built in balancer its a very good charger but it costs over $100

  • well the turnigy accucel 6 is amazing. they were selling them for $35, they do everything the ultra does, comes with loads of leads and a built in balancer

  • All these techy frills... Give me a balancing lead for LiPo, a setting for amp's, and a on/off switch. THAT IS ALL YOU NEED! The rest is just extra crap they make you pay for. I don't give a damn about an LED or LCD screen., or pretty little christmas lights. Show me a charger that will charge more than one battery at once, charge 1-6 cells, and .5 to 5 amp power range. I'd be willing to spend my hard earned cash on something I could actually use!

  • The Thunder AC6 Charger hands down is the best deal on the market. For $55 you can get a charger that does everything a $150+ charger will do, and show you everything on the LCD screen. Every battery type, 1-6 cells. It's awesome, does everything this Ultra does and more with an identical looking display. Skip these guys. Sorry Horizon.

  • @Ispintechno1 yeah but that that doesn't charge nimh or nicad

  • I like how the LCD on the Ultra shows all of the charging stats on one big screen appose to my Duratrax Onyx 230, the Onyx rotates the stats like a repeted powerpoint. Good Job Dynamite!! I was actually going to get the Ultra, but the guy at my LHS said that all their Dynamite stuff has been returned, he told me to get the Onyx 230.
