I think this is the very first ITV indies singles run through I ever watched in my life. I was turning 15 in January 1990. And this run through was aired in Germany some time early 1990 on Tele 5 a small TV cable station. It was really impressive to see all those different bands at that particular time. Electronic at No. 2 and the whole Madchester ramble of the Mondays on No. 1. Exilirating!
Warner, you truly are a bunch of arseholes. You seriously think this ancient video is stopping anyone buying this track? We all bought it twenty years ago, you dicks. We're just looking for a bit of nostalgia on a Saturday evening.
Thanks 23Daves for all the Indie Charts from this year. It really brings back some memories, especially the Madchester thing. A k lot of this stuff is really good, even though my favourite was the Dance Chart.
I'll be dating what needs doing of your 1990 amd 1991 clips soon.
So does Sally Cinnamon by the Stone Roses. Despite never appearing to get much higher than about Number 7 on the Indie Chart, I think it hung around for so long that it still featured on the 1989 Indie Top Ten! There was another version of the Getting Away With It video as well - more "rave-y" than this rather basic "group performing the song in a recording studio" effort.
fantasic music i never knew music from the late 80s was so good keep up the good work p.s keep the vids coming p.p.s any vids from 86-88 of the chart show
It was great the chart show. All the groups in the "indie top 10" were great, how fantastic was the indie scene back then? Gloriously so.

I wish I did have more from 1986-88! Anyone who does should please, please upload some.
I've got three shows from 1988 (towards the end of the run of the show) and that's it.
