These comments and replies are very funny! This animal's size, too big for a beaver/otter, I can personally attest that Champs do have a slender tail and will slap the water with it similar to a beaver's broad tail. At first this does look like a black labrador and not snake like, but take a closer look at 8-9 secs. I believe you can see the shadow of a neck folded in a U shape under the water. The animal fortunately stretches out and it's full length is evident in 20-25 secs. (step the vid)

wow omg after taking another look and running some tests its a dog, infact itcould be a black coated lab from the look of it. look right after the man kicks at ten sec, the tail flys up and at 12 to 13 sec the snout of the dog looks up so it doesnt get water in its nose. trust me i have 5 dogs i no how they swim. you failed, good try though!

wow out of everywhere that it could be it decides to float by u swimming when ironically u have a camera recording you. first off its on a tri pod cause the camera never moves, so the fact that someone isnt just recording you for fun falls in line, so im guessing the buddy you were with couldnt hold the camera cause he was to busy making an ass out of himself by floating in the back

based on the lake currents (which CLEARLY move from right to left) it could simply be a log bobbing along with the current.

I live in vermont. I dont think champ is real. I believe someone mistook a school of stergens  as champ since there bodies look preastoric and when they travel togethe they look like a snake because they bob up and down on the surface
