  • My copy died. Siris Canyon refuses to load. I can't proceed any farther than that. :(

  • good use of weapons bro, loved that kill at 3:30 for 3rd pos lol

Looking foward to rec my own tv, how did you do it ?

  • @Lienko11 I hooked up my PS2 to a DVD recorder and hooked up said recorder to my TV.

  • remake for the consoles of today! This game was almost better than twisted metal just cause it so high paced and entertaining.

  • F-Zero is still superior, but I DID play the CRAP outta this game. I think my main quibbles is that the bikes felt a little stiff. Also, the weapons really felt secondary to simply staying alive. Anyway, I still got first in everything. Here's to a reboot!

  • @BCoolLikeDat The bikes do indeed feel stiff, and the bike I used in this map really sucks for cornering. I prefer Ta--..any others. Any of the others turn well enough for this game though Talon and Starcom are the best for cornering.

The only weapons I cared for in this game were the railgun for being pretty much the only weapon effective at killing bikes, mines for slowing other racers down (sometimes) and the rear blasters as an extra booster. The other weapons are novelties.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 - Yeah, man. I only play as the lady team (forgot the name) and Starcom. I actually enjoyed using the leech besides the railgun and mines. Are you an F-Zero fan, by the way? There hasn't been a new game in almost ten years :(

  • @BCoolLikeDat The lady team is team Vixen. My Atradaitoshi video uses that team.

I *kinda* like F-Zero. I prefer the F-Zero games on the SNES and the N64 above the others. I have GX but I don't like it so much.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 - I JUST played the SNES game a month back for the first time. It's fun, but GX is just insane, Bro. I haven't played the 64 version, but I've heard good things. I personally think the controls on GX are simply better than G3 and Wipeout. They're more responsive, so I can focus on other stuff. G3 is great, but I feel like my shields are barely there by the time I finish. F-Zero is similar but it's more satisfying, if that makes sense. I think the level design is better too.

  • Looks cool, but ill stick to wipeout :)

  • @daveman247 You should do what I did - get it anyway and have both to enjoy. :)

    I love WipEout as well.

  • stop going so fast, i can't hear the song XD

  • I have to look for this game now..

  • Easily the best racing game ever. Fuck I loved this game. 1st in every race and cup

  • Acclaim was the shit back then

  • why doesn't <icrosoft resurrect this to compete with Wipe Out on PS3, i'd like to see this game polished in next gen with a cool cockpit mode :)

  • @flufebunekilr I generally do not like the thought of M$ taking this over. But I suppose it would be better for M$ to do it than... say, a company owned by EA.

  • When I played the game: Yah pretty fast

When I played the game again after 5 years: HOLY SHIT how did I ever make course one?!

  • @JilutheFang EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!

  • I'd eat my shit if I got a perfect 1000G lap on anything but Muon Harbor in this game.

  • i miss this game so bad

  • Acclaim once LJN aka the "Shitrainbow"

  • i can assure you that i played this gam so much that i finally managed to race without crashin road edges!!!

  • system f´s "needle juice" was the very best song of the game soundtrack

  • Comment removed

  • game has actually aged really well

  • every time you go fast i though you broke the sound barrier thats why thous sound fuzzed out

  • I loved this game. I like the Wipeout series more but XG3 is classic.

  • @HybridEnergy WipEout is older than XG.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 I know it is.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 F-Zero is older than both.

  • @SpeedfreakUK ...I already know this. I have it on the SNES.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 I know it is. I have my original version of wipeout for PSX as with XL and wip3out. This was a PS2 game, I just meant the feeling of it now, it feels classic to me...as does wipeout. I only liked the original 1991 Fzero for Snes as far as that game goes. I really think they need a Extreme G game for PS3 and maybe better yet take advantage of the new Vita and make it for that to compete with Wipeout 2048. It would be a sale to me.

  • I have xg1 and is the only one i've played,

this one have no weapons?? thats shit.

  • @JonyzazO You didn't notice that I was shooting the other racers and killing them with a railgun and having to deal with mines and other things?

In XG3 you earn money each race and you buy your weapons. So you have all your weapons from the beginning of the race and you don't lose them. But you have to wait until you pass a certain point before they can be used.

All the XG games have weapons.

  • Gamecube version was the best graphics and FPS issues one PS2 plauge it

  • @iNoob3G I'm considering getting the GC version just to have both and because I already know that the GC version is a more polished version of the game. Has more features too.

  • this is fast, man oO

  • always been my favorite level,

  • How did you record this? Particularly the great audio quality?

I'd like to post some video's of me playing as well. ^^

  • @YuTe3712 I hooked up the audio/video cables to a DVD recorder and recorded it onto a DVD, then ripped the video off of the DVD using DVDx. The DVD recorder was on clearance at Wal-Mart and I paid about 15 bucks or so for it. Maybe more, but it was pretty cheap. Had no working remote and universal remotes don't work with it but the buttons on the front do the job just fine. The codec I use is Xvid, which is free. I just set audio and video quality to maximum on DVDx and cross my fingers.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 Woah....Okay!

Thanks for explaining it to me!! :)

  • this may come on a new console.

  • @MrLoveLounge LOL yeah, keep dreaming... Acclaim won't exist anymore and other companies won't do the game for them.

  • man, i remember when i bought this game for the gamecube, i played it at a friends house...and MAN!!! what was this a big huge disapointment!!!

  • @MrLoveLounge cool story bro.

  • I have this game for Gamecube and I completed the WHOLE game =)

  • @ crazyenzo3 It's Throwback Entertainment since you need to know. Anyways... Like I was saying, they still need to put it on current consoles. XGRA on the older systems don't count little buddy and that was in 2004. But still, the original Acclaim Designers need to get back on it.

    Cheers!

  • Come on Acclaim! Get it together now and put this baby on some consoles!

  • @TheAshenFuture ..read the annotation at the beginning of the video.

And aside from that, Acclaim doesn't even exist anymore.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 One of the reasons Acclaim died imo, was because of the bad maintenance they did in BOTS!! And also they allowed hackers in. They prolly bankrupted and Playdom bought em.

  • @PolishedMetal They did bankrupt, but the part of Acclaim that was bought by Playdom is/was actually more or less a piece of Acclaim, if I remember right.

  • la mera verdad es ke este juego es una mamada no se parece en nada al primero ni siquiera le llega a los talones el puto mando tampoco funciona como deberia es pesimo

  • I remember playing this game, leaching the people infront of my bike until their shield went down, then blowing them up... What an epic game... i might even still be able to remember the cheats... i know it had alot of 'R2's in it... :D Epic game my friends, epic game.

  • light cycle anyone

  • I don't like the music, and the fact that they took the terminal away sucks...

The cars are too streamlined, but I can live with that, and are there no more weapon pickups?

They need to bring back what they did before, and keep it the same way, only in a higher quality...

  • when everything goes silent are you breaking the sound barrier or going underwater?

  • @fennaru That's breaking the sound barrier. Go look at my other XG3 videos.

  • @fennaru breaking sound barrier. u break it at about 750 mph

  • @fennaru

Because sound has a set speed. If you move faster than that, you're literally outrunning sound

  • i always liked XG better than wipeout series. XG had amazing tracks and sense of speed. XG1 and 3 were the best!!!

  • From 0 to 100 in 0,00001 seconds. <3

  • damn emagin going 700mph+

  • It's a NEW LAP RECORD!!!

  • I'd LOVE to see an updated version of this game for the PS3!

  • Ballistics is faster. WAY faster.

  • @10samm10 Truth, but I can't find it anywhere.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 will this game make it to ps3 or xbox360?

  • @CrazyEnzo03 I have it :D

  • @CrazyEnzo03 People, stop giving me links to warez sites for Ballistics. I now have it.

  • Man I used to love this game, but eventually the bikes get so fast and the tracks so hard that it's just insane.

  • @Keuleman007 Oh yeah sometimes i forget to think before i speak haha. Its true. If they made this game now, like cod online but with racing, giving bikes perks for completeing challenges, leveling up, complete customization, online tournments it would dominate. But you are right that would involve a game making company stepping away from something like cod that has been re-made over and over again for years :/

  • *ONLY MY OPINION* i think the nintendo 64 version is better

  • @hugodf2701 Debatable but one thing is for sure, they are beyond amazing. :)

  • I miss this game. :(

  • @RaptureRiddimz haha its good, i picked it up and a gamecube both for a 10r, I was on it for hours, Wish they made a new one for 360 or ps3 it would rule the racing genre no doubt with its trancey soundtrack, super fast bikes and crazy colours

  • @zouga It would only do so because WipEout HD is a PS3 exclusive, and I love WipEout.

  • @zouga It would only do so because WipEout HD is a PS3 exclusive, and WipEout is equally amazing as Extreme-G, except for WO Fusion. Fusion sucked. Except for Zone mode.

  • no offense to sony in all but even if sony or microsoft were to have this game on there consoles it will never i mean never have that same feeling it did when it wass on nintendo some of you know what im talking

  • @ndrdd23 this title came out FIRST on PS2...aka SONY...the gamecube version is not, and never will be as professional as the PS2 version

  • @TheRealPDizzle From what I have seen of the Gamecube version, it's actually better. It fixes some bugs, has more features, and does not sacrifice graphical quality (like many Gamecube versions of other games do). I don't understand why they changed the camera angle though.

  • @ndrdd23 however if you are talking about Xtreme G Racing...the original title that came out on N64, then of course nothing will ever have the same feel about it, because XG1 is a different game entirely when compared to the others. Although it is the first one, and a damn really good one, it is not the best one. XG3 is the best racing game ever made w/o a doubt

  • 1:02 WHO ON EARTH WOULD PAY MONEY TO BUY THOSE SEATS AND WATCH 3 SECONDS OF RACING?

  • @LIGHTRONIX Lol I know right?

  • @LIGHTRONIX XD

  • this game was sick, too bad they dont make them anymore

  • Looks like all you have to do in order to really survive in this game is to use your boosts, accelerator and weapons strategically.

Quite an unusual thing in a futuristic racer, I'll admit, but hell, I'll take it. Excellent race.

If Throwback wants to make some money off Acclaim's work they would release some kind of Extreme-G HD title making the best use of what works in XG3: the sim aspects and physics of XG3 and perhaps some more unique bike designs like hints of what we saw in XGRA. Hmm...

  • I absolutely love that the sound cuts out once you go fast enough, that was just such an awesome touch and probably one of my favorite parts of the game when I was younger, there's nothing like knowing that you're going faster than the speed of sound to get a rush of awesome.

  • Lol,WipEout is a bit unrealistic:In WipEout Fusion (and in the Zone Modus of HD) ,if you reach Mach 1 (~1200 km/h),the game would make a cloud at the tip of the ship and it would be silence for 2 seconds(or something),but XG3 have that O_o Anyway that would be cool in WipEout :D

  • There's a 3rd game? Sweet!

  • @SuperWaveShredder And a fourth.

The third came out in 2001, the fourth came out a couple of years or so after that.

Now the franchise is done. It was handed over to Throwback Entertainment (along with a bunch of other Acclaim titles) and all Throwback seems to have done is sat on them.

  • Bah I love extreme g 3, the game and music is... perfect

  • I miss this game it broke like 5 years ago i want it back one of the best racing games ever made

  • Hey dud Could you please tell me how to play this cool game on pc with emulator.Any link for perfect detail. Thanks, Subscribed.

  • @Arjun007ize The good news is you CAN play this on emulator!

For the PS2 version, try pcsx2

For the Gamecube version (the GC version is newer, less buggy, more features) try Dolphin.

I'm not giving links because it's hard to post links in comments without them getting rejected, so google these emulators.

A good place for roms is emuparadise, but you'll have to have a good ad blocker such as adblock plus (actually does what it's supposed to do lol).

  • Nice one,Subscribed.

  • You know I wish I knew why so many people like my crappiest video.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 Because I love futuristic aquatic themed race tracks.

  • Ooh I miss this game! I saw the menu, heard the music and saw the bikes... Haven't seen any evidence of this game since I lost it 8 years ago or so.

  • woooooooooooo (0.0 ) man broke the speed of sound? good video man brings me aaaaa I love this game if you can give me some tips for a beginner please demons

  • the rail gun is still the ish i see. Haven't played this in a minute but Crazy i give you props. for your use of them air brakes cause its hard as heck to stay off of them walls!

  • Where is the traps? :(

  • You guys know SHIT about fast racing games... F-zero GX is the best racing game ever!

  • @FokkusuX It'd be better if the easiest way to win wasn't to spam the slide buttons.

F-Zero X can go faster than GX as well.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 Actually, even though I also like F-Zero X more than GX, the speed cap in GX is 423,562 km/h while X is capped at only 3,000. It doesn't matter though, F-Zero X is way better.

  • i go so fast the numbers turn yellow and they scramble everwhere

  • dude is crazy with the rail gun!

  • i remember playing this like seven years ago...brings back so many cool memories

  • At 1000g i think this game was way too hard! Hard as in not hitting the sides of the tracks. It's impossible to have perfect laps in this game at 1000g. The tracks should have been just a bit wider at higher speeds.

  • pfff, If you want fast you need to checkout burnout revenge, that was fast

  • @CODENAMEVIDEOS Meh.. Try WipEout XL/2097

Better yet, try WipEout HD and play zone mode; although it starts off slow, speed increases every 10 seconds and doesn't stop. There is no way to slow down except to die. Eventually you're going twice as fast if not faster than the highest speed class in the game, provided you live long enough to get there.

  • Keeping the railgun on full charge must have been difficult, it's hard to keep your thumb over the square, circle and X at the same time O.o

Under-rated game, though it does get samey if you play too long, and the other racers keep spamming mines.

  • @Spontaneologist I us a custom controller config (you can do that, you know..) that allows me to do as much as possible at one time.

  • Reminds me of HSX.....

  • LOL RAIL GUN! bike in front of you Take THIS! GONE! ROFL

  • How can these bikes possibly turn at such ridiculously high speeds? I know it's just a video game, but still it's cool to relate it to real world physics.

  • @StarFoxAutobot hence why its an arcade racer and not a simulation racer

  • lol i used 2 think this game had the best graphic

  • underrated game

  • The original was so awesome. The problem with this game wasn't the speed, it was the track design. Way too narrow and tight corners for a game designed to have you going so fast.

  • @bkaibeere146 The original.. XG1?

I didn't have many problems with track design on that game, just making good use of the slide button is all you need to know how to do. It is 90% of the skill required for the game.

No. The main problem I had was enemies spamming weapons on me because I'd be cruising and then suddenly because of a volley of homing missiles I'd be slowed down to a crawl, if not completely stopped.

I could get through the volcano level without falling off at one point, though.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 yea its crazy i have to constantly use the leech for sheild to stay in the race

  • this game is damn difficult because the shield energy goes down when you use the turbo. but it´s also a damn good game.

  • This game is amazing but I had to buy it again because I can't for the life of me find my Gamecube copy.

  • One of the best things that reminds me of this game (and I haven't seen since) is the impressive sound effect when you break the speed barrier. That "whoosh" sound when it just dulls sound is just amazing to this day even...

  • @funkeroni I'm not sure how breaking the sound barrier is supposed to sound to someone who is actually doing it, but to bystanders it is supposed to sound closer to thunder than it does to this game's "pouf!!" sound.

I'm also unsure about the whole sound dulling thing but I guess that's just for the rule of cool. :)

  • breaking the sound barrier does exactly sound like this, a small BOOM/WOOSH, of 2 sound waves overlapping, and then you don't hear anything, until you slow down

and fuck yes, XG1,2 and 3 are immensely great, though 3 was a bit different.. but still a great game

how they could fuck up XGRA so incredibly I will never be able to understand

  • though, not exactly

it's way more like an explosion, XG2 let it sound way more realistic

F-Zero GX probably too, can't remember the sound effects there

  • @his1nightmare If you're talking about the sonic boom, there is none in any F-Zero game.

  • Yeah You are right, I started to play GX again and admitted I remembered wrong, sorry.

  • reality sucks. i want to live in a world were this is possible....

  • This game was awesome, first time I broke the sound barrier I went nuts, was one of the coolest things ever. I didn't get to enjoy it for long though, my ps2 broke about a month after I got it :/

  • This game is awesome!!! If you would like to see this game made for ps3 xbox360 and wii please help vote on it to make it happen. The video of the game is at my site.

  • Imagine that in real life but without the shields

  • this, is unnecessarily fast

  • @WaggunTin There is NO SUCH THING as unnecessarily fast!! (watch my "Muon Time Trial" video)

  • @CrazyEnzo03 Yeah you're right, that would be like when they took the M14 rifle out of service because they said no-one needed a gun that accurate

  • These games were so much fun. The levels were amazing and he sense of speed was fantastic. I'll never forget my first time breaking the sound barrier on the first Extreme G

  • im not sure why... but i use to restart races to hear that chicks voice, she sounded so trust worthy. i guess i was 6 at the time

  • this looks like F-Zero GX =D

  • Xgra is so much better

  • @NarutoSagepi Yuck. No.

  • OMG... this game has the same problem as the original, too fast for its own good.

I hope the next Extreme-G makes it either a bit slower but keeping the same feeling of speed or keep doing this but allow tracks designs that can handle this.

  • @2745Joshadow Too fast for it's own good? I don't think it's fast enough!

The original wasn't too fast for its own good unless you used a nitro on a corkscrew :P

XGRA isn't as fast as this one so if you don't mind annoying opponent voices with cheesy taunts and sneers then it might be fine for you.

I just wish Throwback entertainment didn't just sit on the titles they bought from Acclaim.

  • @CrazyEnzo03

Well, if you want faster hopefully it's on a system that can handle that or if the developers polish the engine well.

XGRA, huh? I had no idea that there were other Extreme-G's. O_o

The original was too fast with the nitro boosts and quite a few of the tracks were not well designed for such high speed racing.

I'd like to see another Extreme-G title in the future that is similar to the original. Original is still epic to me.

  • @2745Joshadow I don't really get how a faster game would need a "system that could handle it", because the PS2 seemed to handle it just fine, and so did the gamecube.

I still didn't find XG1 to be too fast, every track had its best place to use nitros, although I'd often use it shortly after the start line simply to make sure my opponents weren't a problem (weapon spamming... ugh)

  • @CrazyEnzo03

The GameCube is a powerful machine, that's already given.

On the crap PS2... how that occurred was either by damn good developer work or they had to make sacrifices (such as in detail) to prevent the game from slowing down. Developers do that all the time, they don't put too much detail into tracks because everything's a blur anyways. Tighter, more sophisticated architecture and hardware that belong to the XBOX 360, PS3 and Wii allows more to be done.

    I know... weapon asses...

  • @2745Joshadow The PS2 is by no means "crap". It may have been the weakest of the three consoles of that generation, but it was easy enough to program for that in many cases when games would be on all three platforms, PS2 games would have better graphics than Gamecube games.

In the case of XG3, the graphics were the same (although my disc has a few LOD probs, others do not), but the Gamecube version did have a couple more features, thus it came out later.

  • @2745Joshadow The case of the PS2 games having better graphics than their Gamecube counterparts is similar to why some 360 games have (slightly) better graphics than their PS3 counterparts - programming.

Even with the PS2 they pulled off the "heat waves" effect at the start.

If you're commenting on the blur, that is solely a result of a crappy DVD export. The original game had only blur here and there.

Also it doesn't take a genius to figure out that today's hardware will be able to do more.

  • @CrazyEnzo03

I'm hoping they can figure out the hardware. XD

Oh, but still, the game moves quickly, no time for details.

The heat wave and a few other details are actually necessary so the developers might have focused on that a little. But, for the most part, I'm sure the details were a bit sacrificed.

  • @2745Joshadow true in a way, but this is an old game, back from 2001.

Compare this to, say, Need For Speed Most Wanted for the PS2... the NFS game has much better visuals than XG3(although some details were sacrificed in comparison to versions for the Xbox or PC or 360..)

In fact, XGRA has much better visuals than this game, but still maintains a smooth framerate and good sense of speed, although it doesn't have the same sense of speed that this game has.

  • @CrazyEnzo03

Oh, of course, we have to keep the game within the realistic time frame, I understand. For a game from 2001, it looks great, I'm not saying it looks bad.

I haven't played NFS, quite frankly, I don't need to because F-Zero is all I need. F-Zero GX is a real racer's game. I'd say Extreme-G and F-Zero are games that represent the days when racing was actually good. :/

  • @2745Joshadow I like F-Zero X better.. mostly because I have a friend who has the Expansion Kit (allows for custom tracks!), and I tend to abuse techniques such as sliding and double-tap dives... 3000km/h isn't too fast, I hope.

Also, don't forget the WipEout series. WipEout XL is one of my favorite games.

  • @CrazyEnzo03

I believe F-Zero made racing fun. It's my second most favorite series (with the first being Metroid) and I hope Nintendo revives it soon, the 3DS would be a perfect medium for the racing series.

F-Zero X is really good, and the sense of speed is damn good, too. Especially when you manipulate the physics of the game, then it's loads of more fun. XD

WipEout... how does that play? I've heard of it, but not too much.

  • @2745Joshadow

Wipeout is a great SERIES, but each game has some annoying flaw that brings it down.

    Wipeout: NOT ENOUGH CONTENT.

Wipeout XL: Only a bit more content, but the opponents are pathetic.

Wipeout 64: Great in every way apart from the twitchy handling.

Wipeout 3: Would be the best in the series if it had better opponents.

    Wipeout Fusion: Ewww.

Wipeout HD: The handling model ruins it. Maybe it would be better with a different controller layout, but it's a PS3 exclusive.

  • @2745Joshadow

Now, if I could have Wipeout 3 with Wipeout 64's speed and structure, Wipeout HD's content and (selectable) difficulty, and Wipeout's "realistic" formula-racing aesthetic, it would be the best racing game ever.

  • they need to build something like this in real life

  • I only played the first one and this, but not XGRA, I couldn't get the game.

  • @Armalizilto I can't stand XGRA much because of the cheesy smack talk the other riders throw at you. It's embarrassing to play it.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 It's not a good game? Is it a bad game?

  • @Armalizilto Well it can be fun but the voices are so annoying they ruin the fun.

Also, there are a few game-breaking powerups such as one that will indefinitely destroy a person who is in front of you, which takes away the challenge and makes the game no fun.

It's also not as fast as this one.

  • @jeffrey42088 I do like the first game but what I like about this one is that it's the fastest.

XG2 is fun, too, but not as fun as 1. I lost count of how many times I've went through the second game (only had to because of crappy memory card).

XGRA is an abomination and must be destroyed.

  • @CrazyEnzo03 Can't agree with you i'm afraid!

I loved XGRA just as much as XG3. They're all awesome in my book!

The only thing i hated about XGRA was the cheesey insults from other racers...don't need that shit!

  • This game wasn't near as good as it's first two counterparts, Midway is a good company but when they bought the rights from Acclaim they turned this game into a shit storm on two wheels, None of the bikes look or sound cool plus they didn't have any of the original characters. Midway you fucked up !!!!

  • @Strogenforcer Midway never bought the rights from Acclaim.

This game was made by Acclaim Studios Cheltenham.

I'd love for you to describe how this game is a shit storm on two wheels.

Don't bother explaining XGRA, though. 5 minutes of its gameplay does that job.

  • how do you get it to where you dont need to hold a camera in front of the tv, the tv records it? i really need to kno.
