  • hey nice truck!! i love the outer appearence of the volvos but when it comes to the sleeper i would much rather have the international prostar, but yours is actually every bit as good so i would be happy with either truck. :)

  • Hello mate. Just wondering if Volvo US are fitting the i-shift gearbox into their trucks? What horsepower is that beastie? Too big for UK roads but very nice.

  • @baconsandwich2007 around 450hp give or take and not sure about the I shift.this one is eaton fuller 9 speed.

  • LOL THIS IS MY NEW TRUCK, OHH YOUR NAME IS ON THE SIDE OF THE DOOR???

  • @polishadam28 nobody likes a smart ass :(

  • probably in the wrecking yard by now, i got a tour of the swift wrecking yard one time, lots of trucks. nice truck low pay. i drive junker 78 peterbuilt for high pay,

  • @squidreuel what i make from my straight pull offs 5 times a week i prapobarly make a sumch of as those guys do in 4 hours of riding around on a pallet jack

  • @squidreuel yep,I've seen quite a few smashed swifties over the years myself.

  • how much does it cost?

  • I love volvo. I have the same one. Vnl780. Just top loaded

  • nice truck, shitty company. drove for them when i first started OTR bailed a year after. switched to USX and have been loving the open road ever since!

  • show

  • i have never seen a swift 780 thats nice

  • really ? no wonder my back hurts so much lately.

  • u know the bench set turns into a bed right

  • NICE!!!!! :)

  • is the steering wheel adjustable? in european truck, the wheel angle is almost like in a car, so it's comfortable to use...this one seems to sit horizontal

  • @NSRacer114 yes fully adjustable, and telescopes as well.

  • I LOVE IT MAN

  • all that space, yet no inverter (of any kind allowed), fridge, apu, microwave, or anything that would make having to live in a truck liveable. biggest reason I quit swift and trucking.

  • theres a placard between the hood and the door, leads me to think this isnt a cummins, and is a d13 or d16. if its the latter, how is it treating you now after a some use?i got a 2008 with a d16 its a 730, the midroof model of the same tractor and it aint worth a shit. Its had more warrantee work than its worth ($150k after financing). Also cummins or volvo engine aside i notice minor electrical probs on ever one i see, like the center visor light going out, leading to failure in the rest.

  • @wtfmanicanthaveaname oh yeah the $160k in free warrentee work was done prior to hitting 200k miles, its finally running without too many issues other than severe power loss on hills. Who knows how much volvo payed in rental trucks for me. but i found out i can do a donut in a bobtail 670, love rentals lol. Back to the topic, every driver ive met with with the d13 or d16 has had the EXACT same issues I have at close to the same mileage. Be it the turbo or injector cups etc.

  • How much did that truck cost?

  • May I ask what is the reason for the upgrade ? Years of service? Trainer? thanks for the video!

  • nice truck!!(too bad its a swift.

  • like the oakley backpack

  • Ive blown by so many swift 780's im scared to get one haha

  • volvos are the best trucks that were ever made

  • ARE THESE STANDARD TRUCK ISSUE TO SOLO DRIVERS NOW ???

  • Uh... No not exactly. @elgranbejuco

  • This is a nice truck.

  • Its to bad you drive for swift.

  • to bad most of those types of trucks are not allowed on the swedish road, looks really awesome though

  • Specs of the engine?

  • how do you like swifts volvos overall? im guna apply there this year and i personally love the 780s..

  • Very nice. that's a big improvement

  • I thought my Globetrotter xl was big... and my 580 being powerfull... You americans just see stuff bigger right? :P Nice truck by the way!

  • swift! sure wish i finished training

  • what was your old truck?

  • mine only a 9spd with a granny...was horrible up hill. i do miss that fridge and tv space though

  • Is this shipper located in Milwaukee

  • how much money of this truck?

  • What cb do you use and what is your handle?

  • Man that's a nice truck!!!

  • You got a pack of smokes and a ounce of weed at 0:43!

  • @Lukeschedel sorry to burst your bubble but that was a bag of sunflower seeds!

  • @bulkhungry Aw damn, If i was a trucker allz i would need is a pack of smokes and a fat bag of weed

  • @Lukeschedel And a fat pussy. :D

  • @bulkhungry Hey nice truck man!

  • @ShaneoRacing thanks.

  • I'm curious to know what is the length of the sleeper?

  • thanks i just finished my orientation in jonestown pa im just waiting on a mentor thats from my area due to having blood work once a month

  • Are those trucks made in the Usa

  • @gunders1982 im not sure. maybe assembled here ,but the parts are from all over the world.

  • hey do you still work for swift? and do they have alot of these volvo 780?

  • @metalmark69 yes i do.the 780s are usually reserved for teams.

  • I love the 780

  • Nice Truck! The interior wall in the truck is similar to the Swedish Army M/90 splinter camouflage, cool :) Greetings from Gothenburg in Sweden, Volvo's homeland

  • @troswethanks, interesting, i did not know that.

  • Very nice vid. Thanks.

Can i ask how much fuel this baby uses alone without cargo. Would be cool to use as an everyday car. But hard to park here in Europe on small parking areas and narrow roads.

  • @einherje71 around 7 1/2 mpg with an empty trailer.as for use in europe as an everyday car well....over 8 ft wide ,not including mirrors and 13' 6" high 18.000lbs bobtail.might not be practical LOL.

  • Very nice truck!! What type of transmission does it have in it??

  • @TruckerFinatic eaton fuller 9 speed.

  • Comment removed

  • @amusichound thanks

  • How do you get a 780 with Swift anyways? I'm on my 3rd truck. I was in two 09 Volvo 670's and now I'm in a 09 Freightliner Columbia.

Or do you just get lucky if they have a 780 fresh out of the shop?

  • @Dealjobber the fleet manager at the time liked me so i ended up with it.

but hell that was 2 trucks ago.and he is no longer there.

  • @Dealjobber

My uncle was a truck driver I went, with him one summer. It was my first time sleeping In a truck. I had to sleep on the top bunk, my first night I fell out of it. Because when I sleep I turn over & move around. I hurt my head pretty hard.

  • @homeboy20012009 ouch thats quite a fall musta hurt.

  • @bulkhungry

It did hurt I was used to sleeping In a full size bed. I roll over alot when I sleep, but when I rolled over for sleeping the first time In a truck, I was on the top bunk I fell completely out of hit & hit the floor

  • Yeah those work stations make it nice. I can't stand a double bunk, not because of anything other then no room to stand in the back. But when you have the work station, its just makes for room and a better feel. I dont have the station, but i did get a couch and i lucked into gettin a W900, and I love the style of my truck. But NOTHING rides and drives like a volvo and that I'm sure of. They really are the Cady of the big trucks. except for maybe the new lonestar, which i havnt driven

  • @sleepytrucker252 yes some of the new international pro stars are very nice as well.

  • man this is not a truck this is fucking mobile HOUSE!

  • are these standard for new drivers after the 6 weeks of training?

  • @warrior350yam uh no.... not exactly.

  • Nice!

  • 16.6k views! wow! i'm surprised you're not a youtube partner by now!! haha!

  • @franksg384 not yet.

  • ive been thinking of buying a 780 how are they for weight i heard there kinda heavy how much wheight can you put in your van trailer

  • @pittlogger about 45000.with minimal fuel.

  • Cool video that's a sweet truck! I'm a former Swift driver and they assigned me to a Frieghtshaker Columbia cuz they were JUST starting to get the Volvos in. It had Been taken care of for the most part. Driving for FedEx National LTL right now, but getting layed off in Oct so I'll probably be jumping back over to Swift. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it, much better people to work for/with. I hope I get one of these!!

  • I drive for Bison in winnipeg and got myself a new 780 as a birthday present to myself and no probs yet even after over 300k on the odo

  • love these trucks!!! I got one myself with Bison Transport from Winnipeg my 21st birthday present in october 08 its a 09vnl780 drives nice quiet over 300k on the odo and still no rattles one thing i dont like is dealing with volvo lol but still sexy trucks, my uncle harassed me for getting a volvo as he had a pete 379 he took one drive as a passenger no less and immediately phoned volvo on a trade in! nuff said!! i ave a cummins 550 with a fuller13 and love it!!!

  • the bed looks very comfortable.

is it easy to drive so a big truck with a "nose"?^^

this is my favourite truck since many years ;-)

your so a lucky guy :P

sorry for my bad english if something is wrong^^

    greets from germany :-)

  • @Biturbo0308 sorry for the delayed response and thank you.

your english is great much better than my german :)

no the length of the hood is not a problem....its like anything else, you get used to it.

  • very nice a real home and pure luxury... Thank you for teaching your truck

  • i like this truck :)

this is the best lorry volvo had built...

    sorry for my english :P

    greets from germany

  • peel off that " you are in my blind side sticker"

  • volvo 780 cv pra puxar carreta de dois eixos so

  • @adriano240469 uh...thanks...i think. LOL.

  • hi amigo.can you tell me what kind of engine and transmision you have on this rig, and if you have had any bad experience so far with Volvo, I am considering buying one 780 used,,but I heard some negative comments on Volvo engines and the automatic trannys too....I will appreciate if you can give me some feedback....thnks and congratulations

  • @bertduarte i had good luck with my volvo engine for a few years.

although the 780 in this vid is sporting a cummins engine.

  • I miss driving for Swift, I just tried to get re-hired, but they claim the terminal here in Florida is full... My old truck numbers were 99055, 96283, and 302816. Oh well, I hope to be back on the road soon whether it be with or without Swift, but I would love to go back to them... Awesome company to work for in my opinion.

  • @robogoat23 what happened , what did you do? you did something thats why they don't want you back. swift is dying for drivers day and night

  • Did you have to back that thing blindside?!

  • @thewun1 no not there.but sometimes it comes up.

  • @thewun1 no not at that location.

  • @thewun1 yea right, swift can't back standard, let alone blind side...

9 speed 450 hp ISX... Arrow Truck Sales is selling Swifts 780's but they convert them from 9-13

  • Those volvos look awesome with the table, I hope I get one of those when I get out there.

  • @quest2drive all things are possible.

  • nice trk, i myself cant wait to get back on with swift, my old trk # was 99685 and i was out of lathrop,CA it was smaller a volvo 660 with the the green cummins (baby motor) again nice trk.. be safe out there driver im am known as the BOOGIEMAN

  • sure will. thanks b-man.

  • hhhhhhhheeeeeeeetyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttttttttttttttrdhfgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghdgfhdgfhdgffghfghhgfhgfhjfjfhjhhjhjh

  • those trucks come with a 10 in subwoofer...yay!

  • Just curious if swift has a rider policy? I'm looking to become a driver, I understand its hard but I like a challenge, Ive been driving flat bed tow trucks since I was 16 and have recently moved up to intrastate Heavy Wrecker, A peterbuilt with a 13 speed eaton, and I'm 18.. I'd love to go OTR to travel and live out of the truck, my GF is very supportive and I'd like to to be able to take trips with me.. Is this possible with swift? and if not, Do you know any other companys that allow it?

  • @ModeraterX yes swift has a rider policy but keep your record clean and when you hit 21 hit em up good way to earn your stripes in trucking. drove for em for two years left on good terms just wasnt for me anymore any other questions hit me up

  • hey swifty, will swift hire an intelligent preson without high school diploma or ged?

  • sure, you should see some of the dregs they hire ! most dont last. mostly, all they care about is your driving and criminal record.

  • Love those Volvo's. Freightshakers are ok, but those Volvos are designed more for the drivers comfort and ease of operation. Oh and please post a vid of your new Prostar. Just happened to see one driving around base on tuesday and had work not been in the way would have chased it down to get some pics/climb inside(if the driver would have let me)

  • i will get to it eventually.

  • i would work for swift only and only if i got a vnl780 for solo

  • wow bro, no offence but you got alot to learn.you got to pay your dues in this industry you just dont show up on your first day and say: i want this truck or else,or ill only do this if... its not gonna work that way.and if somebodys told you it is your gonna be disappointed. i mean this in the nicest poissible way.

  • yeah i understand but i could always ask but idk do u like working for swift?

  • I know you haul dry goods, but what can you scale in that beast! I will be pulling a reefer with mine. I am not one of those who needs chrome and chicken lights...ok maybe a few..

Any ideas on tractor weight with full tanks?

  • uh...im gonna say in the 20k range full.

44,500 is about max if its loaded right.

any more and fuel must be at a min to keep it under 80k gross.

doesnt matter though im in an '09 prostar now.(vid soon).

  • SWIFT the worst company ever but they have good trucks

  • really...have you worked for all of them?

working on 4yrs now. out of phoenix.cant be all bad.miles good ,trucks nice.checks cash.money spends. no prob.

  • been with them going on 4yrs now.theyre are things i like and things i dont like. but overall im pretty happy.but being out of the phoenix terminal helps.

  • 1 more question...why is your CB mounted on the dash? there is a pocket with the wires and clamp for it right above the windshield...probs on the ladder though, in mine i gotta jump up onto my top bunk or stand on the table, and trying to get off it in a tired sometimes hungover stuper can be a bitch lol. I want your ladder!

  • cause that's where i want it.

look not really into the whole supertrucker attitude thing, cant stand ego truckers.dont need to hear about how nobody else can back for shit and your the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel.go back to the beer store drunkee.oh yes i probably have more years of experience than you have teeth.

  • SWIFT Stop Whining Im Fuckin Trying...i keep telling myself that to be patient EVERY SINGLE TIME im trying to get out of a truck stop and i have to wait for a swift driver to do 20-25 pullups to back into an angeled slot. 2-3 pulls ups? i can let that go, maybe just a bad setup, but 20-25? cmon man. Not targeted at you just targeted at swift and their rushing the people they train thru training ad kicking em out on the road without knowing how to back.

  • is it easy for you to be such a coarse ass hole? or did it take you 20-25 pullups to get it right!!ha-ha LMAO

  • Comment removed

  • you must be a mentor

  • nope.

  • I use to work for swift and only mentors had 780s along with a few teams . I'm happy for you. when I was there I had the 670 doing a dedicated run for fruit of loom hauling ocean containers.

  • well it was short lived.i now have an international prostar.you still drive?

  • the prostars are nice, the lonestars look better but have a poorly designed sleeper. Enjoy your prostar, volvos are crap mechanically and electricly, ill never buy another one, my old internaional with 1.2 million miles on it runs like a top with minor maintanince the volvo has less miles on it than the miles ive put on the rentals the dealership gives me. 1 of them was a 2003 daycab i was stuck with for 2 monthes. FUCK VOLVO! NEVER AGAIN! International all the way.

  • @wtfmanicanthaveaname Volvo has the best engines so shut the fuck up this truck is great i love it .

  • @wtfmanicanthaveaname the volvos are great trucks so shut up about them even though 11 shut up and stop whining about the volvos please im just asking you nicely.

  • @11254cdk i drive one, im speaking from experiance, and from speaking with other drivers in a volvo at the truck stops all of which have or are having the EXACT same issues, even at the same mileage for each issue. they are only decent with a cummins, if you have the volvo D16 or D13 your in for a world of problems before even 100k miles. If your stuck with a volvo motor, best bet is to hope for or stage an electrical fire, collect the insurance and buy something else.

  • sorry man i always have a lot to say, Im an owner operator so i always get a rental that dealer pays for immediatly when truck fails, but as a company driver your better off with the lonestar, i dont know what swift pays for breakdown pay or if they even do, but im sure its not alot. May not have as nice of a cab, but the wheels will keep turning opposed to the volvo.

  • what year is that? mine has a fridge under the drawers, and the top drawer is a pullout sink, may just be options but i couldnt be picky, i wanted the midroof and had to fly to texas from CA to buy mine, i couldnt find a 730 anywhere.

  • @bulkhungry yes I do

  • Hey Bulk! I have been thinking of buying a 780, is it worth the money or not? that workstation seems very nice.

  • hell yes i love the volvos.if you csn get a decent price on a 780 go for it its a great truck!!

  • Love your videos bro!!! :O) I am a IT Tech and so bored of it now. I always wanted to drive trucks when I was a kid. What company to you recommend starting out with?

    Are you happy with Swift?

    Thanks :O)

  • yes im happy with swift.the miles are decent and the equipment is top of the line.i cant make a fair recommendtation of who to start with. i can only tell you swift worked out fine for me.

  • When you get into the 7 and 8 series, those volvos really are the cadillac of big trucks. I miss my old freightshaker... What motor's in that one Bulk?

  • this one has a cummins. not sure on the exact specs.

  • Nice truck!!! :O)

  • Ah yes.Thanks!

  • Nice truck Bulk! Stay safe out there bro!

  • Will do. Thanks!

  • Whoa... thats allot like my moms RV, accommodating and nice! Thats really nice. You could chill out in the back like that, have guests, They are making those trucks a rolling home now days. That truck has more storage than my tiny shitty apartment, lol! Thanks for the video man, thats cool. 5/5

  • Thanks man. Yes trucks are getting nicer and nicer. But make no mistake this model is in the top 2 or 3 percent of luxury.

I feel very fortunate to have her.

  • That truck seriously kicks-ass dude! Swift is treating you pretty good!

  • One word.................SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!! lol Thanks for the video!

  • Hey, can you tell the difference between the 670 and the 780's suspension or is it the same? I've never driven a 670 but I was told it's not as good as the 780 or 880.

  • Volvo VN 780 and VT 880's rock. Feels like you're gliding along the road and the work station sure is nice.

  • Yes,the table is one of my favorite features for sure.
