The Capital Limited did not run thru Fostoria, Ohio but the Broadway Limited and the Three Rivers ran thru on CSX up until 4-5 years ago...The Broadway Limited ran for a short time when Conrail downgraded the Fort Wayne Line from Crestline, Ohio to Chicago, Ill.
The Capitol Limited hasn't ran through Fostoria in at least 4 years, probably more, I am just taking a random guess. It now runs up north through Toledo on NS, and usually the westbound Capitol paces the westbound Lake Shore Limited
Do you know for sure if its safe to train watch around the depot today? i've only been to Fostoria once but i didnt stay there for long because of the neighboorhood on the north side of the tracks.
I've only been there once (for a week), but when I was there, there were railfans in the area almost all the time. I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems
My video camera is kinda old, it's a Sony DCR-TRV510. It's one of Sony's first consumer digital camcorders (I think it was introduced in 1999)-I bought mine in April 2000. I also ALWAYS use a tripod-not a cheapie either (like the $30 ones you get at Walmart!). I REALLY want another camera, but I cannot afford it (looking at a pro-sumer Sony DCR-VX2100)
Your camera has really good picture quality. I use a JVC GR-D750U. It's a MiniDV camcorder, a 2007 model. The picture quality is about the same as the one you have. Check out some of my videos and you'll see what I mean.
UPDATE: I no longer use my JVC GR-D750U camcorder, the tape heads were knocked out of alignment. All videos taken after June 10, 2008 will be taken with a Sony DCR-HC52.
One train you have not put on youtube is in Findlay that is the former Conrail line(CSX).
