  • @creaturebotman AWESOME video!!!!

  • @creaturebotman Um, that's a clip from the movie Hellzapoppin from 1941, and it's just overdubbed with a 60's tune. You should look up the original clip with the original music.

  • 2:43 was Insane!! Almost doesn't make any sense!! JUST CRAZY!

  • Crazy dancing!!! They seem to be having so much fun.

  • Belive me you've never seen so much energy in one room, It's a truly life chaining experience,

  • I imagine that you may have meant "changing" but perhaps "chaining" was a fine Freudian slip. You are now chained to the Lindy hop!

  • this was awesome :O i've always wanted to be able to do that lol

  • vladgolcea....i think you're right...they communicatd the most with their dancing.

    Long Live Lindy.

  • i'm a hip hop dancer and i wish i knew how to different types of dances especially couple dances... this is amazing... it must require so much energy. wish i knew how to dance like this

  • haha, i kinda figured that. I'm movin to nashville in a couple years, i'll probably get into it more then. Thank you tho!

  • I started swing in nashville, make sure you get with NSDF if you wanna learn legit swing.

  • omg, i've always wanted to be able to learn to dance like this. Is there anywhere you can take lessons?

  • You should come to the event, Camp Jitterbug. We have all levels of classes for a hard core weekend of learning lindy hop. it's may 28-31st in Seattle. As for as local lessons, where do you live? I can probably help you find someone.

  • me and my boyfriend decided that we definitely will learn how to do it. But where i live is the bad part about it, i live in eastern ky..there's pretty much nothing here. Somewhere else in kentucky, lexington, or lousiville might would work if there's any type of classes for it around there...

  • yikes, I don't think I know anyone in that area!

  • oh yeah, should probably post the 2009 dates for ya'll. The Camp Jitterbug 10 year anniversary is this year...May 28-31st 2009. It's going to be awesome...lots of specials stuff planned for this year.

  • Stoked for CJ 2009. Glenn Crytzer's big band, great instructors, JSS, and the Harlem Hot Shots.

    Gonna be a rockin' party.

  • INSANEEE! I love lindy hop, I want to go to CJ so bad this year! I'm going GOSH DARN IT! dang money.

  • ZOMGZ Nick and Carla are doing a workshop at my school! ALL OF YOU BE JEALOUS.

  • It's an amazing display. I can't even begin to fathom the energy, stamina, coordination and practice required to be as good as these folks are. I get exhausted just watching them. They really are great. Thanks for posting this.

  • Gosh that sure looks fun.

  • The second guy is Nick Williams? That guy is my IDOL. I'm glad they won.

  • So jealous! I'm in my University's swing club but I don't think I'll ever even come close to being this good! Well done! [=

  • That with that attitude you won't. :p

  • INSANE! These people arw AMAZING!

  • i want to learn this!

  • fantastic! I´m gonna do this too.

  • i go to w.e. greiner and we do a traditional 1940s play every year and we have to do some of these moves on stage.

my dance partner is a normal size.but luckily for him i only weigh 100lbs .

  • wow I want to do this!

i'm beginning lindy hop on thursday!

  • Awesome Awesome Awesome!

  • Was the 2nd girl Carla Heiney?

  • yep, Nick Williams and Carla. They won.

  • That's cool stuff, and the band sounded great!

  • Who was the band providing the music?

  • Campus Five

  • Where was this event held?

  • Don't you just love Carla Heiney, second on with Nick... Man I can watch her dance all day long. Carla Come to 'GNSH' Feb 2009 in UK ...

  • Lindy Hop and Charleston are part of each other...if any competition is dqing dancers for putting in "too much charleston", then they don't understand Lindy Hop.

  • So long as it's got at least one swing out in it, it's Lindy as far as I'm concerned.

  • Comment removed

  • the Lindy Hop came out of Charleston...they are intermixed all the time. in fact, if you look at a lot of the leads footwork in 1930's lindy hop clips, you'll notice that the footwork in their swing out IS Charleston. Any comp that disqualifies people for doing "too much" Charleston in their Lindy Hop isn't very legit in my humble (or not so humble) opinion. oh boy, i hope i didn't open up a huge can of worms:-)

  • I don't agree, watch the wurms.

  • I agree with petitetonya- and besides- if you have ever danced super fast lindy in front of a crowd you know that charleston is exciting to watch and easy to execute during really fast songs. Its about having fun, tons of energy and musicality, not counting swingouts.

  • @rmswingnut : yeah but u can say that 'cos it comes naturally to people like you...too coool to cAre.....it's gr8 simply rythmn 'n' moves (R&M)...... u herd ut foist

    here......

  • Petitetonya is of course right on. watch some classic lindy clips from the 30s, 40s (and even 50s at the Savoy!) and you'll see dancers moving seamlessly between charleston and lindy hop -- not much different from these dancers at NJC! the level of dancing is SO high these days. making frankie proud, i'm sure =')

  • great job juana and sharon !!!!!!!!!

    just go

  • Marty and Teni moved so professionally!

  • this is awesome! i think nick and carla brought it though! everything else was either slightly sloppy or a bunch of been there done that charleston patterns performed so-so. even people that i think can get by with just dancing/no aerials kind of fell a litle short for imho

  • Final Placements:

1st- Nick and Carla (second couple)

2nd- Marty and Teni (third couple)

3rd- Bromley and Jean (fifth couple)

  • Todd and whoever his partner is totally take it.

  • Absolutely. That looked like a Frida Segerdahl clone. About the same size. Terrific moves and style. I agree completely.

  • Holy carp, amazing lindy hopping!

  • Nick & Carla rox0r !

  • Awesome!! And I was there!! I just re-lived the awesomeness!!

  • Holy Crap. I can't believe I missed this. Awesome Finals!

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting!

  • That was sick Nick and Carla! I missed your arial sequence of your second jam... that was sick! Ya turn your head for one second...
