  • JB can still play better now than alot of the guitarists out there!

  • one word GENIUS

how can be people who dislike this?

  • 2:34 to 3:00 make me feel lot of things this man is genius

  • Samuel L Jackson says: "Good mutha fuckin song muthafucka!"

  • best part at 1:14

  • Did anyone notice the "nipple of a god" at 0:45?

  • Another good guitar player, virtuoso since the age of 10, is the inventor of modern flamenco, Nino Miguel (I will produce him)

  • flawless..

  • One of the reasons I want to learn how to sweep pick....

  • Can't stop listening to this...

  • Wow, just came across this song, never heard of jason becker or any of his music. Avid steve vai & buckethead listener. All I can say is this guy just completed the tri fecta of guitar legends in my book. This is A-mazing anyone who is familiar with his music please let me in on some of his material I want to hear more of this.

  • @schecterc1exotic Listen to songs like Altitudes, Air, Opus Pocus. Just anything of Perpetual Burn and the two Cacophony albums (with Marty Friedman). Also some stuff from after he got ALS like songs off Perspective

  • @schecterc1exotic Try Paul Gilbert too! mostly his classical based stuff though; his rock wasn't outstanding

  • @schecterc1exotic by now you've probably already heard of him since he played with jason and in megadeth. Marty Friedman

  • best pick of the world thank you jason

  • Everything Jason writes is fucking genious

  • @KetamineAddict but not your spelling

  • De loin le meilleur phrasé, son distinct, La légende du shred, c'est tout ! I love who heard jason playin, bye

  • thums up for the nipple of a god.

  • who disliked this song??!?!??

  • It's a shame he cant shred like this anymore but it absolutely blows my mind that he can still compose music

  • How can I play like him if I just started to learn?

  • @thekenris play everyday. I've been playing for 3 years and i can play Serrana altitudes, and this one. haha Just play contently

    .

  • @joevandal13 You can play this after just 3 years? thats seriously impressive my friend!

  • @MrMemis Just practice everyday. Haha i learned tapping on my first day. Because i asked a guy to teach me. I never had a teacher in my life. Never went to a class. I just had a best friend to play with and learn together. We both started playing at the same time.

  • @joevandal13 lol if u say u learned tapping at ur first day it just makes me laugh. well, i believe u could tap one note at a minute, but thats not really tapping :-P on ur first day u propably wont be able to hold ur pick correctly or even hold a note. show me some videos ^^

  • @Kee410 It' was actually a very simple Tapping exercise. It's 8-4-0. Something anybody can learn on there first day, I taught my ex gf Harmonic minor scales her first day and she remembered everything. Haha. I wish i could put up some videos, Its always been at the back of my head. I just do the band thing or write music, I don't have a camera too.

  • @Kee410 And the only reason i had a chance of learning that is because i learned from the best guitarist i know. Haha. And he's insane. I had the want to learn it so quick. I also want to become a guitar teacher.

  • @thekenris You practice a lot more?

  • 2:34 - 2:41 I wish I could figure out how to make my tremolo do that..

  • ooo mierda e tenido un orgasmo en mis oidos haha

  • He is alongside to Shawn Lane and Guthrie Govan the best guitar players to ever haver graced the earth... my opinion...

  • please paul was and is totally above both of them! jason was great player but no where near paul! i have hungout with mr gilbert in arizona not only is he a great musician but the coolest guitarist i have ever met! i have pretty much met all the greats and even worked for them! one i wished i could forget cause with him being such a asshole takes away from any talent or whatever it was he say started! yes talking about yngwie! what a ass! lol

  • @faithnmore Oh great... a fanboy....

  • @faithnmore im supposed to beleive that you meet all these guitarists in person and work with them? and no paul is good but not better... paul doesnt change asssssss much assss jason does .. paul works with like penatonic and lydian .. mainly... jason works in various scales idk know there names but like japanese ... egyption ..and the harmonics

  • @faithnmore There has to be sarcasm there. I used to think PG was better, but then my logic kicked in.

  • any musician who come up with their own style and identity is true artist.

  • is the best

  • 33,000 views only?? really???

what has the world come to?..

  • like Zak wylde, i saw a video with him in high school. That effn dude was always that good!!

  • For those saying ygnwie and Paul Gilbert are better or equal in skill to Jason you obviously no nothing. For Jasons age when he made his albums with this song, Altitudes, air, and opus pocus he was still incredibly young and producing pieces like this. Even now in his 30s with ALS he composes music better than both those guitarists. Hands down Jason is much more gifted than those two put together.

  • @datroop3r you realise that they were that good too when they were younger, but nobody know them at the time

  • @datroop3r

since when was music a competition.........

  • @datroop3r even at this age Jason was clearly better than both and I Love Paul Gilbert but its the truth.

  • please coment my video ^_ ^

  • THE GREATEST!!!!

  • So can someone tell me, how did he do the harmony in the solos? Did he use a pedal, or did he actually play both harmonized parts?

  • @ QuotidianHegemony He physically played the harmonizing parts on seperate tracks. Play a melody then figure out the harmony and record it on a seperate track. Creates a massive, thick sound. Get yourself a multi track recorder before getting an expensive effect. recording/listening to yourself is a good thing to do, it forces you to face your playing with critical ears. The intro here is 16 tracks of natural harmonics played with the trem bar.

  • i thought buckethead was a crazy shredder then i came across this.... i'm literally speechless.

  • @turnbacktime Buckethead really is not a very good shredder.. He can do some crazy dimished, tritone, and augmented tapping stuff, but his picking is actually kinda poor when compared with a lot of the greats. Buckethead is not my favorite guitarist for his shredding.

  • @QuotidianHegemony buckethead doesnt really need to shred but when he does no one can match him speed wise and he's clean when he does it. I cant think of anyone who canpick better than BH besides paul gilbert.

  • @turnbacktime ha. Sorry, but that is simply not true. He doesn't play that fast or shred anything difficult (with the exception being his tapping).. I know many people, (myself being one) that can play just as fast as he can. Most of his shredding is simple mixolydian runs involving a lot of hammer ons and pull offs. I love Buckethead, but he is not near the best or the fastest shredder. Look up Marshall Harrison, Holdsworth, Cooley, Shawn Lane, or Vega.

  • @QuotidianHegemony BH isnt known for neo classical type playing, he's shred may not be difficult but who can attain that type of speed whilst string skipping, certainly not anyone you've mentioned. when i listen to guys like cooley and jefff loomis they sound like they're practicing scales and appeggios in all of their songs BH is more diverse than that. holdsworth is a beast but his playig isnt pleasing to most people. knowing when to shred is better than shredding for the sake of shredding.

  • @turnbacktime I have never seen Buckethead skip strings while shredding? This debate is stupid anyway. I like Buckethead, I like Jason Becker. I don't feel like arguing. Have a good day.

  • @turnbacktime Yeah, that makes more sense haha. Speed of play is such a dumb way to judge musicians though.. You should try to focus on the music I think haha. And you are still wrong. Go watch Shawn Lane!!!

  • @QuotidianHegemony i dont recall saying speed made anyone a better artist but its an impressive trait to have. to me BH is the most complete guitarist because he's versatile unlike most.

  • @QuotidianHegemony lol, you think your as fast as buckethead? i would love to try whatever your smoking.

  • @turnbacktime Many people are.. I am in no way as good as he his lol.. I can pick just as fast though.. Its not hard, and im not being a conceited asshole. Listen to my video "greatest guitar solo ever (maybe)"

  • @QuotidianHegemony lol, yeah i've listened to it. you cant pick anywhere close to as fast as buckethead.

  • @turnbacktime completely different styles man

  • Comment removed

  • @creamomeat who has a different style?

  • @QuotidianHegemony lol @ not ever seeing buckethead skip strings while shredding.

  • @turnbacktime Jeff loomis sounds like he's just practicing scales? What the fuck are you smoking?

  • I wonder why the universe didn't implode when he composed this song.

  • no feeling in composing... i prefer... stuff that does not break all the time.

  • @TubeSpoker man are u crazy jason songs have feeling all over the place :S just songs like opus pocues an air bring harmony to the place and you can sense how he was feeling the moment he wrote them

  • good mega mother fucking amazing fucking song!!

  • ending is psychedelic lol

  • 2:39 just fucking blew my dick apart

  • Epic song, epic man and epic picture.

  • Definetly one of the greatest solos. Never gets old, or slows down lol

  • ok so I can play at 1/20 speed and am working up to 1/19, so, at this rate ....... only 40 more years to go before I can play it?? yeeeeeeeaaaaaa

  • Jason Becker forever kicks ass, it's a real shame that he can't play guitar anymore, but at least his keeps his music alive and still composes, maybe one day he can play again, he's an inspiration to say the least.

  • @digitusmedio well, at least the stuff he already put out can be listened forever

  • good song until the end lol

  • @kinggeeblin it is the theme to Leave to Beaver played backwards in minor seconds lol.

  • I´ve been listening to Jason´s music since i was 12 years old, and he´s my biggest guitar influence,in fact,he was the reason i want to be a guitar player.

This song is so powerful ,one of my favorites of him!!

  • Who the fuck disliked this song!? They should be shot execution style.

  • this song sounds like it could be a peganinni song at 1:14 - 2:33 .jason like studied him and his whole style, so, i gues it makes sense that is would.

  • @lobiondo32 its in 9 /8 i think so thats why it sounds like paganini

  • @hairlessdog10 It's in 4/4, at one or two measure(s) it changes though. at 2:17 . And all the notes are in sixtuplets. which give it that sound.

  • If PG were to cover this song..He would have difficulty with the sweeps but no problem at the picking parts.

  • ive been listening to jason for some years and only recently i realised that this is probably his ultimate masterpiece, at least for me.

  • jason becker is the best there ever was and ever will be and really deserves a hell of alot more respect than he gets, and it kills me that all you ever hear on the radio anymore is the jonas bros and justin bieber, but his stuff here, this is true talent, becker is the equivalent of what would have happened if mozart played electric guitar

  • Veilbound, your video description says it all perfectly.

  • so beautiful, I love Jason's music

  • this song is soo fukin serious!

  • jason kicks so much ass.

I aspire to play like him someday

  • dont we all?

  • Becker The God !!!!!! \m/

  • i really think he is the best at phrasing with the wammy bar... and in interviews hes claimed to not even be a dive bomb kinda guy lol

  • 2:35 that sound is so fucking awesome!

  • Damn, i wish that there was a vid of him playing this song :P

  • im 15 and I think that he is my favourite guitarist alongside jeff loomis, rusty cooley, micheal romeo, chris broderick and john petrucci

  • @conorthealien You should listen some "Shawn lane" : )

  • @conorthealien what about gilbert and friedman?

  • I love those guys, I just couldn't be bothered to type Have you heard of stephan forte he is amazing too he is from a band called adagio

    check him out

  • I just discovered Jason Becker a few day ago.. I used to think Paul Gilbert was the best shredder, wow was I wrong.

  • @GrapesAreFun100 Yngwie is propably fucken god but becker is so much better and that's the fact

  • hahahahahahahahah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yngwho malmsteen is crap always same arpeggios same licks same toneladders boring shit he is fat and ugly and must stop guitar , this guy is reallly goood fast nice and clean and superior

  • im not saying that jason becker sucks i think hes amazing i was just suggesting yngwie to someone else!!!!

  • dude yngwie aint as good as jason becker but he deserves some respect idiot

  • LOLOLOL he deserves some respect who is here idiot ???? he is fucking ego noob he dont respect anybody lol and he sucks so hard

  • Yngwie has the right to be an asshole. He is a fucking god alongside Becker.

  • Finally someone who sees it the way i see it!!

actually to be honest the first time i heard this song i thought "hmm this sounds a lil like Yngwie... but i would have heard of it..." and the second name that came into my mind was Jason Becker haha

but yeah, Yngwie worked hard to become a god and therefore deserves to be cocky... but i doubt he would sneeze at Jason's work, he probably considers Jason just as good if not just a lil worse then himself

  • @Veilbound yea his good but jason is faster

  • @Veilbound i dont think anyone has the right to be a dick

just becuase you can play well doesnt give anyone the right to be an ass

  • @Veilbound nah malmsteen is just super fuckin' fast and granted he has a great knowledge of his arpeggios and scales but hats all he's got while becker and friedman had / have a very diverse style that actually equates more than fast shredding. it actually has style

  • @Veilbound malmsteen only has speed and technique man, becker and friendman had/ have speed technique and diverse styles. haha

  • @Veilbound Ing-Vay has some amazing songs, but overall, he is a doucher

  • @Veilbound Yngwie TOTALLY ripped off Ritchie Blackmore

  • @itsbudda and uli john roth

  • @thegoddescomposer Yngwie held his girlfriend hostage with a shotgun because she didnt want to marry him lol.

  • Welcome to the jason side of guitar :), although paul is probably one of the best btw. insane in his own right, but who the fuck compares to jason?!

  • @15viceandvirtues buckethead

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah dude if jason could still be playing no one would care for Yngwie...plus if they met up for a battle jason would shred Yngwie to death...then Marty comes in and then just prettty much bitch slap Yngwie into a never play guitar again bitch slap OH!!!!! hahaha!

  • at 2:31 , Jason just exploded into this unbelievable sound. I just love that :)

  • Dude! you know what my favorite part is? 0:00 through 4:52

  • oh really? i had no idea (sarcasm included!)

  • are you seriously moronic enough to not comprehend the fact that that was a joke, jeez and you're calling people dumb asses

  • thank you dude haha thats great :thats the whole song dumb*** hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha embarrassing

  • @SuspendedinShadows12 I suppose shadowknight's comment was also a joke :..:-P

  • maybe but idk, there are actually people out there that stupid... its hard to believe I know... but its true :D

  • thats MUSIC COMPOSITION !!!!!

    thousand make music

only a few can do composition real composition

if jason still playing guitar everybody would say Yngwie WHO??????????

  • Welcome to the world of Jason Becker. It is full of most excellent guitar playing not even Zues is willing to touch. Thank you and have a great flight.

  • 2:35 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It can't be !

  • The whole thing is just awesome.

    1:07-3:46 is just perfect!!! OMG

  • POWERFUL SONG...

  • Just listened to Vai's "For the Love of God", and was criticized for my comments. I merely stated that I found the arrangement to be a little mundane. I required something to soothe my appetite for musical brilliance. Becker's classic piece here is just what the doctor ordered. Now THIS is what I call an ARRANGEMENT. It will be embedded in my brain for the balance of the day.....Thanks Jason...You are a true inspiration to art itself...

  • although i think that for the love of god is one of the best peices of music ever, i agree with the 2nd half of the comment

  • @moronchicken heard this today for the first time and i'm not even a rock fan...... I am now.

  • @moronchicken Style difference has a lot to do with it. As well as the type of song "For the Love of God" is.

Mable's Fatal Fable is moving, energetic, full of life .

Vai's FtLoG is soothing, easy going, very much a ballad, Full of life.

Both are facts. Mable has an energetic life and soul. Love of God has soothing life and soul.

I dont know what your comment was, but if it wasnt anything rude, I am sorry to hear you were criticized for your opinion.

  • This song is badass.

  • long live cool people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely!

  • only 5 stars ? this song deserves at least 15

  • @wormincle i think 27 stars is where its at

  • no other person in the world will ever be this great i mean yea people had the time jason did but his dad just said it was amazing how he could pick up songs just in a snap i think he was put on this earth to inspire us

  • solo is so epic

  • jason becker rox!

    tupac ? more like 2who?

  • The best

  • yo, nice ebonics there...don't you have to be somewhere poppin' a cap in someone's ass?

I don't expect 2pac to be a great guitarist, don't expect Jason to be a good rapper. Clear enough for ya? Or do you need to lay off the hype from da pipe?

  • fuck me. 2:34 - 3:44 = fucking amazing and so emotional.

  • yeah it always knocks me down, just fuckin awesome!

  • I would A.) Take on Jason's ALS in order to have him play again or B.) Give both my nuts for his skills.

  • 2:38 genios scale..!!!

  • He recently wrote "River of Longing" and "Electric Prayer For Peace." Also I think part of his "perspective" album was made after paralysis

  • life and death is a song that he wrote after he was paralized. just wanted to point that out.

  • My favorite song by Jason Becker!

  • its also an incredible song.

  • jason becker is a fuckin GENIUS =D! he plays beautiful music =D! i love his solos =D!!!

  • se la mamó este vato, bien bien cabrón!

Schade dass er nicht mehr spielen kann!
