I don't want any Americans to take this the wrong way, but I am happy that Optimum have for the first time made their own dub for Ghibli's 'Arrietty', instead of waiting for around for Disney and buying it off them. A: it means we get the movie sooner (opened 29th July 2011, US is Feb 2012), B: it is cheaper for Optimum, C: we get to hear something other than US accents for once (exclusively UK voice talent in Arrietty). Don't have anything against US accents, but for EVERY Ghibli film? No way.

I hate to say this, but these people did this film a huge dis-service. I'd like to show it to others I know, but they wouldn't have the "patience" for the Japanese with subtitles, & I feel a lot of the movie's charm is lost in the English dub. Flame me if you want, but it's my opinion, and one I share with many others. I wish the dub was better, but I can certainly live with the original version.
