Thanks you for putting this up, the main tv news etc are no longer talking much about the recovery and what is necessary. There was a very good article in BBC History magazine about the history of Haiti and why it has been so difficult for a nation to build itself. This is worth reading it is a telling tale and one that will not surprise the astute, but may well inform the ignorant who commented here. Haiti was very much like Cuba the way it was embargoed and impoverished by colonial powers.

maybe its because Chile is 2nd world and not 3rd world so they have more money and maybe because that earthquake wasn't the last one in over 200 years and earthquakes are recent in Chile and they know how to deal with them... and maybe because 200K+ people did not die in Chile and maybe because they have better building infrastructure there.
