Years ago in a similar location a dump truck loaded with sand swung into the path of a south bound freight. The truck ran alongside the railway before the crossing, the train was behind. The train driver felt something didn't add up so leant on the horn. Then the swung out of the driveway into the path of the train. The truck driver was killed and the kid who was driving survive. Ocker the train driver was shaken up terribly. The Dixie mangled headstocks etc.
I have not been on here for a while, so sorry about not replying to comments. Hope the guy applying for the job at Ontrack got it. All the best and remember to concentrate when driving on the road.
Always good to see vids from NZ. Ive just applied for a job at ONTRACK for a track Machine Operator.. Hope i land the job... My old man works for them too.
Yeah, wasn't sure about the title, but went with it any way. I think it worked a bit though, had a few hits in the short time it's been on. They do sound the horn before approaching a level crossing normally, but we had done a few dry runs, with train only and they blew the horn then. When they edit it all together, they will put it in then. Over here, so many people get killed on level crossings, so I guess they would try anything to get the message across. Sorry about the title. Cheers

If you think you can beat a train across the track you'll be Deadly surprised.

That train made a pretty quick stop.

@bpyjktgiuk It stopped quickly for two reasons. It was short and it was empty.

Thanks for your video.
But why lie to us with your title?
What a ridiculous waste of time and diesel fuel.
Like no one does not already know the consequences of being hit by a train.
Do the locomotives not sound their horns approaching such level crossings?
Thank you,

@robertgift well even though most people know the consequences, some people still decide to try and beat the train
