surefire G2LED + L4 + 2Dcell flashlight

Good flashlight comparison. I got the Surefire G2 LED yesterday and I was somewhat disappointed. It has a nice bright beam but it didn't have a good distance output. I have a T.O.P. Stryker Xenon with 80 lumens and I could see from beyond 150 feet but the batteries could only last for 70 minutes. I bought the G2 LED because it had a longer battery life of 3.8 hours and it was 80 lumens. The G2 LED is only good for indoor use.

I finally talked myself into the SF G2 LED, but it's $70-, Cr123s are $ and a hassle to find, etc. I have 2 Life Gears from Target, a 1 AA 80 lumen cree ( more like 50-60!),$20-, and a 2 C 210 lumen cree ( more like 125! )$39-. I would expect the G2 too be a major step up for the $ and hassle involved. Should I hold off?

Surefires are pricey but their quality is world class. The G2 led that I have is bright to light up a room but not good for seeing something off in a distance. I bought the G2 led thinking it would shine the same distance as the T.O.P. Stryker Xenon as it has the same amount of lumens; however, I could barely see anything from 100 feet.

Sorry guys. This was thrown together very quickly for a forum member that wanted some information on flashlights for camp sites. The first flashlight in every video section is a cheap rayovac 2D cell flash light, the second being the new Surefire G2 LED with the new metal head, and the last being an L4 that has been used and abused. Video is simply showing the difference in a good quality flashlight over a .99cent special.

A running commentary would be really nice like telling us what light you are using and what you are seeing. Video quality on YouTube isn't the best.
