  • Calm down...

  • ROFL @ "Their eyes really tell the difference between digital cable and regular cable" LOL!!!!!

  • 4:02 POOF! Magic Cat!

  • That was....spectacular

  • bundle....bundle? Where are the bins for those bundles? LOL

  • Upgrayedd

  • I never get tired of this rant. A true "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...." moment.

  • cat in the backround...O_O

  • check out our channel..thanx :D

  • you shouldnt do drugs, at least not uppers

  • I feel your pain! and I love your cat... soooo cute! Excellent rant, I believe ranting may be your gift to set forth unto mankind causing butterfly beats of nostalgic enlightenment and future visions of clarity and epiphonies. In other words... you are inspiring peace on earth. Keep up the good work!

    Peace,

    T...

  • You are hilarious! I love how the whole time your cat is mashing on your sofa.

  • i like ur cat!

  • Great rant. :)

    I give you 100 points.

  • Comment removed

  • u funny katz :)

  • Remember when you could tape movies off the TV? Well, you can't do that with digital cable. that's one reason why everyone had to go digital.

  • am scared

  • CRISIS! That was hilarious!

  • i've been in that situation, twas always my fault, ..then one day.. THANK GOD FOR GMAIL hahaah ..and the rest is history.

    pop3 can blow me :)

  • MEGA EXCELLENT rant! I hear you muchly., Katz!

.... Reminds me of when I called Dell helpcenter and they told me to reinstall windows. Then called Norwegian Dell help center, and he told me to start by unplugging all my USB stuff. PHEW! Turned out to be my USB router that was the problem. "Just reinstall windows" YEAH RIGHT!

    HUGS!

  • ok so will we have nightmare of Julie now?

    Keep on YouTubin!

    -Kiddsock

  • You are so totally conscientious about reading and responding to your comments. And yeah, it is very obvious to me that quad americanos would be WAY too much for you but regular drip usually has more caffiene than espresso drinks so be careful out there.

  • ahahahaa! no insult at all! I am actually older than I look... so I'll take it as a compliment ;)

  • i like the quality... what kind of camera are u using?

  • This was shot with the internal video on my MacBook. I find I just get better quality when I shoot in natural light and a little post editing cleaning up with the contrast or black and white levels (very little though... just to remove pixel noise - if you contrast too much it will flicker).

  • I drink quad short americanos out and french press at home-we should have coffee sometime, really, it would be fun for those watching.

  • very true! americanos are very strong aren't they? O.O that actually would be too much for me. ;P

  • lol my dad is 76 and he only knows how to use the tv XD, and im 19 this is sad or me D:

  • hmm... sad? I don't know, technology can be thought of as a condiment, some people love it on everything... some people just don't care for it. ...and some people just need to start with a little bit at a time. Otherwise they don't want it at all. ;) best of luck!!!

  • I love your videos katz!

    A. I can totally relate!!!

    B. You always make me laugh even when I'm having a really bad day.

    C. You are soooo much like me.

    D. I'm a cat lover too *kisses pumpkin on the nose*.

I'd write more but I'm getting a message on my computer that I require an upgrade.

    Ciao.

  • I lesser than 3 this video

  • *falls over laughing*

    1) Damn, you make me laugh!

    2) I feel your pain

    3) Pumpkin there seems to be trying really hard to help you find some calm *impersonates kneading cat* Good kitty! *squishes*

  • I have a very very very serious question for you... How much coffee do you drink before you make a video like this? lol ;)

  • so I didn't wait till the end of the video before I posted, but I've been where you are. My grandparents are in there 70s and 80s and It took me a week to get a problem fixed with their internet. And it was all because they listened to some stupid guy who didn't know what he was talking about. lol It would help if we had our tech support here in the US and we actually paid them decent money so we'd get people who knew what they were doing. lol

  • ya know what's funny Kat, I worked for an internet provider for 6 years and I did tech support for digital phone...I understand him needing digital cable to get cable internet, but they lied to you when they said you HAD to have digital phone. You can still use your normal lan line and have cable internet and cable tv. So I'd call them back and tell them you don't need digital phone. It's a newer technology and I know more people who have had problems with it than those who haven't. Good luck!

  • Ah! This reminds me of exactly how I felt not to long ago in which it took two months for my own cable problem to be fixed! I could rant about it, but for now I shall simply say that I know how you feel about the customer service phone reps.

  • I think you need a good scream. :-)

  • i'm sorry, i didn't quite catch how old your father is, could you say it again? ;)

  • lol!!! 70 something...

  • great vid! Your eyes are amazing! wow

  • LOL!! it's the shirt! I swear if I wore a putrid yellow shirt, my eyes would be the same color... okay, maybe not that bad. but the natural light with that shirt does pop them.

    Thanks!

  • (awesome x brilliant) + hot = you

    just thought you should know

  • now that made my night. very cool. thanks!

  • great great great rant and thanks cuz i wasn't even gonna get a landline now i will cuz ur kinda right

  • cheers! glad to give the heads up!

  • I really don't want to sound like prick, so I'll apologise first. I know there's nothing that can be done now, but no matter how incompetent the support desk is or how many stupid things they tell you to do/try. If there was a sufficient backup strategy in place, all of this could have been avoided.

Sorry, I love your videos/rants, they're great value. It just annoys me a bit when I hear these sob stories about lost data when it could have easily been avoided.

  • no insult at all!!!

I had no idea that my dad was going to call customer service or even go into the settings part. I admit I figured I would get it set up and he would just leave it - to be honest I didn't think he would know how to get into the advanced settings. So no, no backup strategy in place.

Just for fun hon - Think of it like losing your keys... you could have avoided it... but sometimes its nice to blame your cat. ;)

  • Ah, so true. My cat cops the blame for so many things. :)

Sorry for sounding like a d-bag. Love your videos, keep up the great work! *hugs*

  • haha you're awesome

  • Now THAT is an amazing rant!

  • That is funny... My dad probably had a ski lift on each side of the mountain...

  • hey did you ever get his email going again? :)

  • lol! he is still using his old account... haven't had a chance to make it over there yet.

  • My dad tells me he didn't have a bike he had to walk the giant snowy hill... But when I bought a bike he told me he had to build his own bike from parts..

  • LOL! reminds me of a story... our family found out, many many years later, from our grandma... that the bike my dad rode uphill "both ways"... was a motor bike O.O

*giggle* that was a fun Thanksgiving.

  • I feel your pain, but at the same time...your rant totally made my depressing night much better. You really made me laugh.

  • well! thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment! It made my night!

  • Thanks!!!

  • how many siblings do you have....i dunno why im asking

  • Oh, and on the computer thing, yeah i would been like "OOOOOH fuck!" and then destroyed it

  • lol! you know me puissse... I'm not so colorful... but I was sure thinking it!

  • The videos you post that have you cats in i cant help but watch a few times over. The first time to listen to what your saying, another time to watch curiously at what your cats are doing, and then a third time to imagine what they're thinking and then turn that into a real voice :D Love it. Take it easy.

  • ohhh! I can only imagine his internal monologue!!!

    cheers!

  • OMG...I wonder if Julie is a YTer.

  • O.O

... and she is standing right behind me isn't she?

  • I have Cox cable in both houses in two different counties. First county said I needed to get digital cable to get high speed internet. Other county Cox said I didn't. Found out that Cox in other county lied to me. You don't need to get digital cable to get high-speed internet it is a scam to get you to get that cable box and pay $10 extra a month to rent the digital cable box!!

  • Katz. Simply put --

    YOU ROCK!

  • YaY!, I love Rant's!

  • your ability to rant is possibly the craziest bestest thing ever.

  • *giggle* thanks for possibly the craziestest bestestest comment ever!

  • You ability to rant has made you my hero of the week

  • another favorite comment of mine! thanks! made my week!!!

  • Such a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG rant. And you're the first female creature I know, on-line or in real life, that can actually set up computer stuff on her own.

  • eeep!!! hope you can run fast too eatfastnoodle!! lest my female IT friends will attack *wink*

cheers for the compliment. I try my best to keep up with the computer stuff... I confess I still feel so far behind all the time!!!

  • well, good for you. Although I won't bet my money on you keeping keeping up with the computer stuff over the long run. I've been in this field for quite some time and I used to love tweaking and fiddling with all kind of hardware and software, now all I want is to have everything I need work out of box, and If I have some problem, I'd rather calling tech support (who often are exactly like the girl in your rant) than trying to figure it out myself.

  • The ending was the absolute best. My cat (who is also an orange tabby) does stuff like that ALL THE TIME.

"These papers? You need them? Let me rearrange them for you and then roll around on them, k?"

  • ahahahaa! and leave the office chair for a second??

"oh I'm sorry... were you sitting here? I was keeping it warm for you... you don't mind right?" *rolls over and goes back to sleep*

  • Your cat was making biscuits

  • *giggle* sooo true! should start him on his own cooking channel!!

  • You're a great storyteller. Still love your starbucks story. It's still a favorite.

  • cheers! the funniest thing, I've learned my storytelling skills from my dad. he's the best.

  • kat your beautiful sweetie!!!

  • *beam* thanks sagnbaby!

  • I hate when they do that....

  • That was an awesome rant. GREAT! HA!

  • I like the whole when I was your age we didn't even have tv..

  • LOLOL!!!

"...when I was your age I rode my bicycle to school... in the snow... up hill... both ways!"

  • yay! makes my frustration well worth it! glad it made ya laugh!

  • thanks katiepie!! cool username by the way! its the nickname a father of my good friend uses :) very cute!

  • I have never seen you so cute! And that's saying something!

    Great job!

    *hug*

  • DALE!!!!!

hows the family??? Great seeing ya again!!!! Thanks!

    *HUGSHUGSHUGSHUGS*

  • wow that sucks.

    I agree Kat...more isn't always better.

I tried the same thing w/ my internet company awhile back. I asked about upgrading to a bundle deal only w/ internet and TV, only. They said "sure if you also get a home phone too."

I said "I don't NEED a home phone, just add TV..." They replied, "Nope. Can't do it."

    Arrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

So frustrating. And that conversation lasted 20 minutes!!

  • YES!!!! SO TRUE!!!

  • Yes, sad but true. Thanks for the reply katz :) *big hug*

  • oh yes i have dealt with those "julies" and "toms" on the phone after an hour of the auto-machines and their little options and loops and what nots..........oh the pain and horror

  • AHAHAHAAA! I forgot all the "press 1 for... press 2 for... now press the pound key and you will end up right back where you started sixteen steps ago... [beep] thank you... goodbye! [click - dial tone]..."

  • Wow, what phone/internet company is he going through?

  • lol! come to think of it are any of them really that different?

  • touche

The thing is I work for an internet and phone company, so I like to get the dirt on other companies. And then I realy really hope that it's not our company.

  • *giggle* which is why I hesitate to mention 'names' ;)

  • lol. Okay, I guess I can understand that.

  • I feel your pain... My father won't even use email... He says whats wrong with regular mail it has been around since americans have been around..

  • yup! the ol' saying... 'don't fix it if it ain't broke'

too bad this means agony for their children who constantly say... "but... but... it'd be soooo much faster... and easier... and..." ;))

  • you speak the truth i stongly dislike all the julies off the phone servious thingy. great editing so fun to watch you rant, LoL

  • Thanks Prada! so glad you liked!

  • ... will make your head explode ;)

  • Just so you know, we have "Julie" tied to a chair, and have reduced her kneecaps to tapioca pudding with a three pound sledge. Any requests?

  • O.o

    um... I like icecream?

    *flees before the cops come*

    ;p

  • Double argh. Good rant. I hope it was therapeutic! (And such a cute cat too!)

  • I admit it did feel good :)

  • you should rant more often, that was HILARIOUS !!!!! :D

  • LOLOL!! leave it to youtube to really enjoy living vicariously! I'll be sure to keep it in mind ;) always happy to share my pain for others to laugh at :D

  • Awesome Katz!

  • Awesome video.. AWEEESSSOMMEE!! XD

  • hey there PMZ!!! great to see ya again! thanks!

  • Yay! Somebody remembers me! XD lol... this is the kind of video that inspires me to the point of almost making videos because I could rant about stuff like this for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages.. Still scared of what my friends and family might think though... :S

  • such a compliment to hear to an inspiration! thanks!

  • Love the vid, love you, HATE all Julies!

    (JUULIEEE>>> we're comming for you Julie >:) )

  • *giggle*

    muahahahahaaa!

  • I <3 you. Thank you for coming back.

  • Good Rant!

  • Omg,Hahahaha

    Poor you...

I enjoyed this video though. Made me laugh.

  • cheers! thanks panda!

  • hahah!

    the end is the best.

    "oh.hey? pumpkin?...ohhhhhhhhh you're Soooo fired."

  • lol! my favorite part too!! I love it when that happens!

  • OK, I've been out of touch...are you back in the states?

  • yup!

  • Katz: rant rant rant:

    cat: knead knead knead

    Loved it:) That was awesome

  • yeah... I am going to have to put together the outtakes from this, it will make you all giggle.

    thanks!

  • lol - all the cat wanted was some attention! =D

  • yup! spotlight stealer! ;)

  • I love how your cat is completely indifferent to your torment :)

  • lol! I know... as long as he has his food, all is good in the world. why bother worrying that his owners head is exploding... he has a place to sleep and food. nuff said ;)

  • Dogs have owners.

    Cats have staff.

  • ahahahaaa! a favorite comment!

  • your hands move crazy fast its like a blur

  • lol! my dad says the same thing when I am trying to show him how to do a lil' part on the computer! "Wait, honey, I'm old... now what did you just do?"

"um... dad... okay. well. I clicked the [Okay] button."

  • lol, it's hilarious just how hard it is to get someone at that age to try/use new things.

My dad got a laptop and every 10 minutes the first few days he had it just constantly calling me and asking if he s hould cliclk "ok/no" only for me to figure out it was pop ups on all the random sites he was visting and he had it infected with a ton of adware and things already.

  • so true!! my parents did that as well when they got their first computer... *giggle* or else they finally said, I just click cancel on everything. then they wonder why some programs don't work, simply because they are, in a way, quitting the program before they open it!

  • Seriously rant worthy stuff here girl! Sounds a whole lot like the crap I've had to go through with Papi and my parents!!

Poor kitty...Just leave Mr. Kitty alooonnneee!! LOL!!! Blessings, Grams

  • lolol! thanks Grams! great to see ya again!!!!

Mr. Kitty... oh Grams... if you only knew the things Mr. Kitty got up to. *giggle* 'spotlight stealer'

  • It's so easy to be crushing on you like I am right now....

  • aww... that is very sweet of you, thank you!

  • LOL I can seriously relate to your pain. And I have a cat just like punkin! lol o-o I think they're related. I love your videos!

  • *giggle* you know I have found orange tabby's to be the best cats ever! course, I might be a little biased *wink*

  • Oh no, you're quite correct, orange tabbies are the best! They're certainly the brattiest, but they can always make ya smile! We need to see more of punkin! :-D

  • ahahahaa! I find when I don't actively bring him around, he will most likely do just that... and anytime I try to include him in a video, he will be cleverly missing.

  • Isn't that the trouble with orange tabbies, and anytime I try to take a pic of him he looks away, the dirty runt! you could always lure him with treats, unless he's too smart for that of course.

  • i find your rants to be highly entertaining . keep up the good work

  • thanks!

  • Fantastic stuff

  • AWESOME!!!

  • "Yes, officer, and then, she fired her own cat. I know, but I think she was really upset and could use an aspirin or something."

  • okay... can I just say that every single time I read this comment, I cannot stop from laughing at the '...and then, she fired her own cat'... it just gives this beautiful picture!! thank you so much for that. well said!

  • glad you enjoyed it lol !

  • The cat makes the video XD

  • ROTFL! great... now I have to go and hire him back.

    *sigh*

I'll never hear the end of it.

  • You Fucking Rock!!!

  • Thanks! :D

  • I can recall an argument about paying more for less with Comcast. All I wanted was Showtime.. but ended up having to buy the entire package for less then it would cost for just one channel. They have such a crazy pricing packages you can argue and fight with them for hours. Since they have monopolies in certain areas, there isn't much we can do about it. Pay the money, or buy an antenna.

  • ahhhh yes. but pretty soon an antenna won't even work.

Truly free television? prediction: RIP within the next decade max.

    tricksey lil' pixies aren't they?

  • *giggle* with pumpkin?

oh yeah... there are a few outtakes, but I'll save them for another day ;)

  • hahah ohhhhh pumpkin you are SO fired.

lovee all of your videos and totally agree with each and every one of them. =)

  • *giggle* thanks!

punkin: He'll be back... he is just on temporary leave right now... until he pulls a "look at me, I'm soooo cute." act which will melt me into a pile of goo. :P

  • back to your best, katz. back to your best.

  • cheers for that!

  • KITTY!!!!!!

Oh, er, ahem, right, video, let's see, something with Julie from customer support ruining hours of set-up work.

Seriously though, you can't call 911 with digital phone? That wouldn't even be legal here, that's crazy.

  • Koos!! I was hoping to hear from you on this one!!!

lol! so the cat distraction worked! muahahaha! you IT boys are so easily distracted ;))

Figured you already know (as many of my IT friends know) what it is like on the OTHER side of the phone :D

  • I have an idea :)

She has a standard procedure which involves destroying everything the stupid end-user did and starting over.

Couple of things: 95% of the users are indeed not very gifted; 90% of the time deleting and starting over solves the problem; 2nd line support won't accept the ticket if the standard procedure has not been tried.

Problem is, you're not the stupid user that those procedures are made for, but it's not financially interesting for the company to take that into account.

  • "not financially interesting for the company to take that into account"

brilliantly stated, all around... and from you koos, not a surprise at all ;)

  • oh!

911 - yes. it is true. they recited the disclaimer upon purchasing the upgrade on the phone. I was shocked (as I was calling for my dad)... but the guy just followed with, well... just use your cell phone. okay... but... wow. Pay for a service that won't work when I need it most?

  • LOVE THIS!

  • LOVE THIS COMMENT!

    thanks ;)

  • This was so funny. Julie Julie where fore are thou. Oops we're missing and et there. Wait we are missing two ets. That's Ets Two!! Ets two Julie?
