  • one question. I thought you can store multiple files in the flash memory? how do we do that without erasing the other one?

  • it depends on how much flash memory you have, if you only have enough for one at a time it defaults to erasing the current one before you can upload the new one.

  • @Flickersparks you must set the new IOS image as the boot image.

    boot system flash:name_of_the_image"

  • @NiGa69 Only do this if you have enough flash memory to run your image.

    For example - System image file is "flash:c2600-ik9o3s3-mz.122-15­.T9.bin"

    The mz tells me that this version of the IOS runs from RAM and is compressed.

    So the image might run fine in RAM but maybe unable to run in Flash memory.

    2611XM RAM = 128MB and Flash = 32MB etc.
