does anyone know where abouts we are on the 11 year cycle right now(peak or trough)? ive been off air for a LONG time and ive lost touch.

Sunspot peak will be 2012, we are currently towards the bottom of it. But, I have noticed a significant improvement in DX in the summer in 2008 compared to 2007. 2009 should get even better. There were more instances of stations working North and South America, and Central America in 2008. Usually, the guys with beams were getting them first though. Eventually, you will be able to work 2div with a coat hanger out of the back of the rig.

did you have buzz on speaker caused by display,i had to put capasater in to stop it,also i get weird signal on 14 f band do you get the same.alpha tango Charlie 108 div

Nope.

Never head that problem with the speaker buzz. I use a BHI DSP speaker on mine, works really well.

The first digits, eg, 13 or 26 refer to the country (based on an old Italian scheme someone made up), the letters, in this case Tango Mike is a club prefix you can belong to (search for CB DX group) and the numbers after that are just the personal ID.

At the time of this post, 11m has been bouncing. I know of peeps that have worked the South American territories, and even North Carolina, West Virginia, and North and South Carolina.

Not worked anything outside the EU for a while.

And for extra flashback value, I have a Stalker ST9FDX with an Astatic 636WG mic I aim to video. All the old school 11m peeps will be all "Oh man, they ruled! I had one of those!" lol :-)
