THANK YOU!! I was taking apart my front bumper today to change my headlights on my Jetta and the Haynes manual pretty much left me in the dark..a lot. This video was sooo helpful! Just wanted to say thanks (: much appreciated
I just found this in my favorites. I was going to remove my bumper and repaint/repair it, but I tried doing it the Bentley way, and got nowhere trying to remove the locking mechanism. FML!!!!!
how about just changing the front turn signal? mine was broken and need to change it.. the lamp that is. Is there easier way than taking the whole front part of my car down?
@imbaman55 just push the front of them in and slide one side into the car and pull the other side out takes about 10 seconds then just disconnect the bulb on the wire behind them.. side markers and turn signals on bumper come out the same way.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I know I would have undone so many unnecessary parts and pieces in trying to figure out how to do what you showed to be a very simple procedure. Wish I could buy you a beer for that.

After a huge headache trying to figure out how to remove the headlight bulbs, plus the H.I.D. wiring from the previous owner, I came across this video. Thank-you, Thank-you. Awesome, easy tutorial. bulb replacement is easy now.
@whoiszizou You are the fucking retard Ferdinand Porsche designed VW on the request of Hitler. In 1933, with many of the above projects still in development or early stages of production, Adolf Hitler declared his intentions for a state-sponsored "Volkswagen" program. Hitler required a basic vehicle capable of transporting two adults and three children at 100 km/h (62 mph). Hitler chose to sponsor an all new, state owned factory. The engineer chosen for the task was Ferdinand Porsche.
yh thanks for the help matey i got a hid 8000k light kit went to put it on my car couldnt take out the headlight i called a person to install and he said front bumper needs to come offf so people front bumper offf frist illll post once my hid kit has been fitted sweet people
Nice Vid! jst wanted to ask, if you was to replace the fog lights bulb you have in your headlights, would you need to remove the headlight? or can you just reach in from the back?thanks
just like me (and probably half the other people out there) i like to work on my car at the most inconvenient times. RIGHT when it get's dark outside. then you can only work with one hand, since the other is holding a flashlight. xD
Thank you SO much! My n/s (UK) headlight got smashed my a bolt on the motorway. All I had to go off was where the screws were on the new replica headlight (only 2 screws on top). It was only when the old headlight didn't come out did I realise that I needed to take the bumper off to get to the other screws (which you have confirmed in the vid). Was going to cost me upwards of £250 p&l! Now, thanks to your vid, it's cost me only £45 :o) Oh Yeah! Gigidy gigidy!

is this the same procedure for mk3's? i need to replace my front bumper.
KLA551K 3 years ago
Thank you, this was a great help, not having to figure it out myself.
I've just changed the left headlight on my Golf IV (not GTI) and I watched your video just before starting the work.
For others: The procedure is just the same for the non-GTI-model, except my Golf has no sidelights.
Thanks again! 5 of 5!
