As a former Alaskan you should realize the military presence up here is as close to highest US per capita as possible. You must also realize that we spend more than the China, Russia, Britain, France, Japan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, India, Brazil, Italy, Australia, Canada, Indonesia and the The Netherlands COMBINED. To put that another way we spend more unilaterally than the the next 15 countries COMBINED.

Well I am a biological science technician. I am doing GIS, and I know you do not have the brains to even know what that is. I was on the state winning NOSB team, and I just graduated near the top of my class. I have also placed high in the state for track & field. I could dig a ditch too - and ride horses, and mountain climb, and run the middle fork of the salmon river, and hunt and fish, excelled in computers, etc.

This sounds like a true socialist if I ever saw one. Americans help themselves first so they can help others. They make enough so that they have things to share. They don't ask doctors to work for the state, but work so they can pay their own doctors through their insurance. They understand that education comes after we eat. An empty stomach creates an empty mind. And as for the PFD; this state owns the resources, thus the people own the resources. The PFD is a dividend of our stewardship.

And there is nothing wrong with socialized healthcare. The WHO ranked the US all the way down at 37 in terms of Health care quality. My great grandpa died in our health care system because the hospital was too slow. They had to contact the insurance company before doing an operation. The New York Times has also reported that we have one of the slowest systems in the world. I would go overseas before making remarks about something you know nothing about!

If that is what you wanted, you all should have thought before you had all your legislators vote for a stimulus package that has yet to take effect but has now strapped you for the next 10 years.

You can only spend your money once. 

It does not mean that we all should not have a collective health care system especially when it comes to preventive care such as vaccinations, emergency room for catastrophic care.

I believe that the stimulus was a waste, but if Bush was in he would have done nothing at all. At least the economy is doing better with the new administration. I also see why medicine cost more in the us; because it is invented here. But as being in the top five richest countries, our healthcare system should be up there. Looks like Oman, Morocco, and Chile beat us. The life expectancy is only 78 in the US, and 79 in Europe, which is very significant.(Macau has the highest at 84)

Right now if I die my kids are grown and my grandkids will really miss me. But if my kids die, Social Security already has provisions for children. We pay for our education by local taxes. We get federal funds for programs that they mandate.

The biggest problem with socialism is it needs capitalism to make it work. If you do not have the resources to take something from someone else you can not have socialism. Then it drops to anachronism. At that point you fight in the streets.

Why when she can do more for Alaska by being our Ambassador than our governor would we be mad at her? She has already done the job she set out to do in the first 2 years!
