how can i simulate what the pain is of getting a tattoo? ive heard its like scratching a sunburn, but its winter, or a cat scratching, i have a blind dog, etc. what could i use to simulate it with everyday objects?
@megm247 Yeah it will obviously hurt but its not that much pain that you cant handle.. my Dragon tattoo i like 5-6 inches and now ive got a neck tattoo .. its a tribal with my name under it.. if the place where you wanna make the tattoo is soft like the neck , fingers , palm , the hinges on the arm and legs truely hurts . So you should make a tattoo in a reasonable place.. and a good design :)

Most people never had any discomfort and will take narcotics for things like sinus infection. For me they don't work even after a surgery really only pain killer that works for me is asprin or alieve.
It hurts but many things are far worse best way I can describe it is getting pricked by a thorn but the sensation moves with the needles. Its not a burning a severe 2nd degree burn is just about the worst pain possible. Its probably the ink and alochol and stuff that makes it hurt the needle itself is so small and doesn't go in far enough to hurt much.
heres some good advice dont spread staph or aids what if that drugy forgets to change the needle or saves money reuseing the needle tatoos mark you make u easy to find and to figure out bad idea the bible says no also you cant add one thing to yourself begin inside yourself and some tatoos impossible to get rid of
The pain of getting inked is addictive,once you get your first one you want another one very quickly.Why it's addictive I have no idea but everyone I ever talked to including myself said they loved the pain,unless of course it's on a part that is extremely tender and sensitive.

@wakends I'm skinny too, it stings a fair bit when it hits bone, but it's not completely unbearable. My advice would be to get your first tattoo on your inner arm or somewhere fleshy first (if you're planning on getting more than one). I've got about 8, definately worth it

My first and second tatts were on the tops of my feet. Third was on my calf. The pain is intense. But since I've had worse pain, I knew how to breathe through it and how to meditate through each one. It really is 50% the art and 50% getting through it well. Also having a meal of protein a couple hours before will help immensely.
I'm not worried as much about the pain itself when I finally am of legal age to get a tattoo without parental permission, but more about flinching and messing the tattoo up.

im 17 and i got my tattoo months back on my upper arm. i went in their kinda expecting the worst pain ever and when he started the work, i just sat there and watching The Expendables the whole time and i honestly didnt flinch or anything at all. it depends on ur tolerance of pain, to me i like the feeling haha. take a pin and go over ur skin with it and that is somewhat what it feels like. its more of a burning sensation and it does get numb after a while. the healing is what sucks
@MrYankees611 healing is easy if u know how best results for any tattoo is wash it after u get it done put vaseline on to it and wrap it in clingfilm then leave it on over night and the good thing is u dont get any mess on the bed sheets and u allso get no scab at all cause ur keeping it moist so it heals quicker and the clingfilm keeps germs out then wen u wake up washit again leave it open for a bit for some air do the same again for 3 and then use E45 moist cream and it will be mega bright

yea the pain just varies on where you get it. Ive gotten my back tattooed and ive done a few tattoos myself on my arm and leg. My back hurt very little but the arm one stung just a little bit more. Almost like if you were to fall on cement and get a light scrape. My girl got sum butterflies on her stomach and she said that it hurt like hell lol but i think only because it was on that soft, sensitive belly meat . The pain is bareable. It just depends on the person and where you get it.
Doesn't acually hurt, im 16 and got my first tatto in February, and everyone I knew was telling me it was gonna really hurt..and I freaked out when I got my eyebrow pierced, but if your getting an ankle pierced (mines just above the ankle) it doesnt really hurt, honestly I laughed while he was tattoing it, but it really depends on your pain tolerance..its honestly worth it, exspecially if its something you really want and like, im going in again soon hopefully to get my shoulderblade or my wrist

It isnt too bad if your pain tolerance is pretty good, but if you are one of those people who gets a scrape and feels like they are going to die from the pain than i would rethink the location of the tat. lol if you are a girl get it on your lower back. if you are a dude get it on your arm or something because the side is kinda feminine lol. those two locations in my experience are the least sensitive. Its different for everyone
@xXDiesel01Xx I got tattooed for 4 hrs on my chest last weekend and it fucking hurt like something unholy by halftime. I will say this. It entirely matters WHERE you are getting tattooed. I also have been tattooed on my arm, wrist and leg and they were all less painful areas. It boils down to the length of time and where on your body. It may hurt like a fuck while it's happening and then be sore for a week or so after but then you are in the clear with a nice fucking tattoo.
@honeypot11 shading is a lot easier than the outline but most people psyche their self out about the fact that shading is going over a larger portion of the skin if you go in with the right mindset the tattoo wont bother you i have 6%body fat so im SKINNY and both of my entire sides are tattooed from under my armpit down to my leg even on my back a little you'll be just fine
i think the whole pain factor just depends on your ability to take pain. ive known some folks that say that it doesnt hurt them and that they like it (ya i know they are hellsa weird) but me i like to think i have a high pain tolerance but they all end up hurtin if the tat takes hellsa long cuz your skin is all beat up and raw.

From someone with sensitive skin and multiple tattoos.. I would say the absolute best pain killer for any tattoo is conversation. Whether it's the artist or a buddy, it really keeps your mind elsewhere.
I have my whole back tattooed along with some of my hip, all together about 36 to 40 hours worth of work. You can't just make a blanket statement like "it doesn't hurt at all" or "it's the worst pain ever". Certain parts of my back hardly hurt at all. In fact, I fell asleep once! When it got to my hipbone and along some parts of my spine, I felt like I couldn't handle it anymore! It varies HUGELY depending on where it is. It helps a lot to have several books on hand or a friend to distract you.

Got my first tattoo about 3 weeks ago. Got it on my forearm and to be honest, its not that bad.. Well to me it wasnt. Some spots kinda hurt but its not bad enough to where your going to tap out. To me, i hated the afterwards.. It feels like you have a hella bad sun burn after and its hella sensitive.. and while its healing its itches like a mother fucker and you cant itch it.. Honestly, if you are getting a tattoo, it should be something that is very personal or close to your heart. If this is true, then the pain should not matter because the reason for getting the tattoo should be much greater than any pain.
Yes, tattoos hurt. Its having a needle pierce your skin dozens of times a second. Of course it's going to hurt, but if you're worrying about the pain, you really should reconsider the tattoo.

A great topical numbing product I have used is INK EEZE. The cream which you put on before hand and it is nice because it does not have epinephrine. They have a spray like the guy is talking about, but it does have epinephrine so you want to keep that in mind. I would go for the cream.

im 17 and i got my tattoo months back on my upper arm. i went in their kinda expecting the worst pain ever and when he started the work, i just sat there and watching The Expendables the whole time and i honestly didnt flinch or anything at all. it depends on ur tolerance of pain, to me i like the feeling haha. take a pin and go over ur skin with it and that is somewhat what it feels like. its more of a burning sensation and it does get numb after a while. the healing is what sucks

@MrYankees611 healing is easy if u know how best results for any tattoo is wash it after u get it done put vaseline on to it and wrap it in clingfilm then leave it on over night and the good thing is u dont get any mess on the bed sheets and u allso get no scab at all cause ur keeping it moist so it heals quicker and the clingfilm keeps germs out then wen u wake up washit again leave it open for a bit for some air do the same again for 3 and then use E45 moist cream and it will be mega bright

yea the pain just varies on where you get it. Ive gotten my back tattooed and ive done a few tattoos myself on my arm and leg. My back hurt very little but the arm one stung just a little bit more. Almost like if you were to fall on cement and get a light scrape. My girl got sum butterflies on her stomach and she said that it hurt like hell lol but i think only because it was on that soft, sensitive belly meat . The pain is bareable. It just depends on the person and where you get it.

Doesn't acually hurt, im 16 and got my first tatto in February, and everyone I knew was telling me it was gonna really hurt..and I freaked out when I got my eyebrow pierced, but if your getting an ankle pierced (mines just above the ankle) it doesnt really hurt, honestly I laughed while he was tattoing it, but it really depends on your pain tolerance..its honestly worth it, exspecially if its something you really want and like, im going in again soon hopefully to get my shoulderblade or my wrist

It isnt too bad if your pain tolerance is pretty good, but if you are one of those people who gets a scrape and feels like they are going to die from the pain than i would rethink the location of the tat. lol if you are a girl get it on your lower back. if you are a dude get it on your arm or something because the side is kinda feminine lol. those two locations in my experience are the least sensitive. Its different for everyone

@xXDiesel01Xx I got tattooed for 4 hrs on my chest last weekend and it fucking hurt like something unholy by halftime. I will say this. It entirely matters WHERE you are getting tattooed. I also have been tattooed on my arm, wrist and leg and they were all less painful areas. It boils down to the length of time and where on your body. It may hurt like a fuck while it's happening and then be sore for a week or so after but then you are in the clear with a nice fucking tattoo.

@honeypot11 shading is a lot easier than the outline but most people psyche their self out about the fact that shading is going over a larger portion of the skin if you go in with the right mindset the tattoo wont bother you i have 6%body fat so im SKINNY and both of my entire sides are tattooed from under my armpit down to my leg even on my back a little you'll be just fine

i think the whole pain factor just depends on your ability to take pain. ive known some folks that say that it doesnt hurt them and that they like it (ya i know they are hellsa weird) but me i like to think i have a high pain tolerance but they all end up hurtin if the tat takes hellsa long cuz your skin is all beat up and raw.

i mostly have psychological pain while getting tattoos. they have never really seemed to hurt physically but what i hate the most is I CANT LOOK AT MY TATTOOS BEING DONE!! if i take longer than a 30 second glance at a tattoo getting done on my own body i start to feel faint and eventually pass out. is there any way to bypass this so i can watch my work done?

I have my whole back tattooed along with some of my hip, all together about 36 to 40 hours worth of work. You can't just make a blanket statement like "it doesn't hurt at all" or "it's the worst pain ever". Certain parts of my back hardly hurt at all. In fact, I fell asleep once! When it got to my hipbone and along some parts of my spine, I felt like I couldn't handle it anymore! It varies HUGELY depending on where it is. It helps a lot to have several books on hand or a friend to distract you.

My moms friend did it and it didn't hurt for me I'm a needle phobic and I hate pain but trust me there r things wayy worse like when I was 12 I had a big needle stuck in my back some medical test and it does help if ur distracted and DO NOT MOVE. Also getting it In sensitive places for ur first time is a bad idea. My sis had her side tatted and she sed it hurt like a muutha fucka

Got my first tattoo about 3 weeks ago. Got it on my forearm and to be honest, its not that bad.. Well to me it wasnt. Some spots kinda hurt but its not bad enough to where your going to tap out. To me, i hated the afterwards.. It feels like you have a hella bad sun burn after and its hella sensitive.. and while its healing its itches like a mother fucker and you cant itch it.. If your thinking of getting one, go for it. And trust me, they are addicting, haha

Honestly, if you are getting a tattoo, it should be something that is very personal or close to your heart. If this is true, then the pain should not matter because the reason for getting the tattoo should be much greater than any pain.
Yes, tattoos hurt. Its having a needle pierce your skin dozens of times a second. Of course it's going to hurt, but if you're worrying about the pain, you really should reconsider the tattoo.

A great topical numbing product I have used is INK EEZE. The cream which you put on before hand and it is nice because it does not have epinephrine. They have a spray like the guy is talking about, but it does have epinephrine so you want to keep that in mind. I would go for the cream.
