It's 2 AM, a small, candelit cafe in Paris. It's 1959. A light rain can be faintly heard outside. My woman whispers to me, nuzzling my neck in the process. A faint whiff of her perfume catches my attention. She gives me THAT look and pushes the hotel key towards me. -- And they call me a romantic dreamer?
At long last! For me this is the best style for this song--the type of plaintive, slow torch song that is played in smoky late nite jazz clubs for that last, slow dance, cheek to cheek with your love. Thank you for posting!
I love the work that Ms. Reeves did on this soundtrack. She reveals this song in a different light in particular. She takes dated material and makes it relevant to a new audience. That is what art is all about. I wish her work on this soundtrack were recognized as the accomplishment it truly is.

Definitive ... the first word that comes to my mind as I hear this, and I think it says it all.

She sometimes sings this song in a faster version. I like this slower one much better!

@viwanton I do love the faster version, though it's nowhere to be found here

@0974806921 Are you kidding? The faster version is all over You Tube! Finding the slow version was the real challenge.

Is this the song that plays during the suicide scene?

Yes, it was. Don Hollenbeck gassing himself is actually the first thing I think of whenever I hear this song :(
