  • I dont know whats worse, the 2 frame/second rate, or he constantly moving that cell phone all over the place

  • @EvilMaxWar that's a memory for not-video games from CDi.

  • The sound of a decimator and a video from the eighties!!! perfect!!!

  • I used to use, edit track gold.

  • I, love, the, two, frames, per, second, cell, phone, video, not!

  • @meowmmmmm At the time that this video was uploaded, this quality was topnotch on youtube;)

  • @stoffenl No it wasnt.

  • It has to have better sound quality before it's "big beat". But that track does sound like it could be really cool, I just can't tell. You should get a mixer and then record the line out of that into a new video.

  • a higher quality version of this would be ace!

  • @intavent /watch?v=2nwcWgIe068

  • love the command and conquer samples :)

  • i got a copy of cubase thats my original set up i will never part with it

  • Just like Norman Cook

  • @OpusMagister Not sure about beating it, but Octamed on the amiga and a couple of s5000s are my secret weapon...

Check out some of my stuff here: myspace /4teenth

  • This is great, I just got an Atari 520STe and I'm waiting for my 4 MB of ram to arrive then I need to get a copy of either Cubase or Notator.

Do you know if there is any TR style step seqeuncing programes out there that I could use to make a drum sequence in then export as SMF and load into something like Notator or Trackman for writing samples and synths sequences?

  • @snolan1990 Thank you! No, unfortunately not, but it would really be fun to try with an intuitive stepsequencer.

  • @snolan1990 Well, as I use an Atari 1040STe with Cubase 2.0 and an Akai S1000 sampler myself, you could try to loop a bar and edit it in the drum page... If that is what you mean. You'll get a step-like interface. You can select the steps by simply clicking on them (duh...). Anyway, you can edit all key data like velocity and volume etcetera... If you want a screenshot or something, let me know...

    Cheers

  • hi mate buy cubase its better make sure you get the dongle with it its a small black box it wont work with out it i use3 atari 1040s good look ps type in mark shreeve asassin in to utube he uses atari

  • your webcam is vintage too...

  • @smsuikup Hell yeah :) dunno why the images are stuttering, it flows nicely on the (mobile)camera. darn youtube converter is vintage too..

  • @smsuikup hahahhhahha. ( i hate the word vintage though)

  • make sure you watch all the video of mark shreeve asassin it takes a couple of mins for the track to start its a long intro see the old atari screen in the background

  • yeah! thats a hardfucker track :)

  • I NEED HELP. i want to buy a akai s3000i, for to use it with my guitar midi.. do i need to buy a sequencer for to use it? if yes, wich one i can to buy? thx..

  • Sounds good! Do you have any clean audio file of it? Cheers

  • ive just got in post today, my atari 520ST, and a copy of cubase3, problem is, unlike your screen, yours looks fine, im using and old 80s tele, using the tv cable, and the transport bar and other things seem to be really crushed up and unclickable, what have i done wrong? some sort of setting in cubase?

  • You need the high-res Atari black and white monitor for Cubase on the Atari ST.

    Hope this helps,

  • You can an adapter so you can use a regular CRT monitor, you could use a flat screen for example.

  • Look for a copy of Sebra, it was an emulator that allowed you to use cubase through a normal TV and see all the detail.

I used to use Cubase through an old portable telly and had many happy days.

  • any news of doing this again but with a better cam?

  • I have just moved, so have to find my disk box first. Thanks for the request and hang in here.

  • Please post a link to hear your track, it is a pain to listen to.

  • OLD SCHOOL !!!!

    Souvenirs....

MANY THANKS for this vid. Makes me remember the old times, when the only way to sequence was Atari + Cubase. And this S-950 12-bit sound... Korg Electribe kids cannot understand.

Man, I send you an MP.

  • Big Beat = Big ^^

  • this track is belting - when was it made, who are you, and how can i get a copy? only nipped on here as i was bored and chuffed that i set my old akai s3000 back up today! the ST's still in the loft somewhere haha

seriously, i love this track - more info please

ps genre debaters, who cares what it is (even though it's obviously hardcore rave haha)

  • hehe my intention was big beat, but it seems to be even more old school than that! it must be because of the ST...

It was made 2 years ago, I didn't have the privilege to access a setup like this in the 90's :/ when it still was lucrative to use it!;)

I need to record it to audio, will notify u when i have.

  • great!! i love it!!! fatboy slim also uses an akai s1000 + 2 x akai s950 samplers..

  • Fatboy Slim use an old atari computer too, to mix his great music.

  • Nice old school Atari, vinyl & akai equip & mixing work. Audio quality on vid cud be better but Sounds kick ass.

  • Thats the only way to go for that style of house, If I had the room and the time id love that set up!

  • did you say HOUSE? lol. go die a horrible death.

@stoffenl: this sound is awesome :))

  • You go listen to ¨the history of house music¨. Its up on youtube. Hes not crazy , it sounds a lot like the early uk rave music wich people called ¨house¨ music back then.

  • @iodyn: there isn't a SINGLE amen break based track that I would EVER refer to as "house"...

and the sound is still awesome :)

  • @abfahrtranqui There isn't a SINGLE amen break based that I would EVER refer to as "house".
