I don't believe you, I think you've been to a couple of places, maybe around London, and you have the whole "grass is greener" mentality. Check out the North Yorkshire moors, the North East coats, Penzance, North Wales, the highlands of Scotland, the Cotswolds, and see all the different aspects of our thousands of years old culture, and then tell me the UK sucks. It's a beautiful country.
Also, watch some daytime American TV, and compare it to British daytime TV - oh god, no! ;-)
Ok I guess I was being a bit of a twat for saying my home country is shit but I haven't actually been to London, I have been to Yorkshire and Wales....and a load of other places.
Well London is great in the city centre, Yorkshire is beautiful especially if you go to North Yorkshire, and the cities of west and south Yorkshire are nice and student-y, good for cheap, but nice, clothes, nights out, et cetera - and low in chavs.
Wales is nice as well, very rugged landscapes.
Ever been to Cornwall? That's nice, even if they all sound like pirates :-p.

America got REALLY stupid after 9-11, travelling is an absolute bitch and anyone from another country trying to move here has to go through hell. The government here has something against letting cool people move into the country. I have a couple friends from Ireland who are dealing with the same issue and it's killing them because they already sold their house in Ireland, so they need to figure it out quickly.

And then there's working under the table....

if your over the age of 21 (or 18 im not sure which it is in US) your parents no longer become your legal guardians, leading to the fact there isnt any need for you to follow as you are old enough to get by on your own.
